Guess it is the usual revenge plot?

Like every Jason Stratham movie that's not made by Guy Ritchie, and that's a lot of movies

      • Guy Ritchie had a crack at a Statham-led revenge plot, too - Wrath of Man. It was okay.

Just a normal guy trying to live a quiet life

don't get me wrong I enjoyed some of them, good action movies.

they must do well because they keep recycling the character and releasing it.

So I just read about some leaked emails between studio execs and it turns out they've actually got the next 10 years sorted out. Add these to your list:

      Conductor (2033)
      Meg v Jaws (2034)
      The Milliner (2035)

they aren't stopping at 10 years either. this formula works so well to cater to wet dreams (I'm just a construction worker living a quiet life, but retired ex special forces 😂) that they will recycle it until they suck Jastatham dry. and when he turns over in his bed and doesn't want to do it anymore, they will find another white man that does martial arts to replace him.

I'm sorry I was too harsh on him, I liked some of this older movies such as Revolver and more recently some with this formula I think it was The Mechanic and sequel. even though it has those stereotypical moments like he kneels behind a car to avoid an explosion, sees his own reflection in the car door and says "now you've done it".

        • Would like to clarify that the emails didn't specify if Conductor was set on a train or bus, or in a music hall, or indeed if Statham was being used as a conductive material. (My money's on train - more explosion potential.)

And no, you're not being harsh. Statham himself seems very self aware and he probably has a great time making these films, or at the very least getting paid for them. I can usually enjoy them once, I never have the urge to watch them again though.

I say take it up two notches. he's a conductor on Cruise ships, living a quiet life.. in one scene in the middle of the ship the bad guys have strategically cut the steel areas that hold the ship together, so that it will split in half and sink. Jastatham while exporting minions in between, jumps around welding those cuts so they don't split, just in time to keep the ship together.

wait a minute. I think I just thought of the next movie. The Welder.

when the Cruise ship reaches ashore and the last granny steps off the ship, Jastatham after pausing for 5 seconds staring at the sinking ship says in a London accent "and here I was thinking this was going to be a good day".

I never have the urge to watch them again though.

100% agree. 😂 also had a fun time the first time though. 😀

Kind of sad that David Ayer has been reduced to this.

Watched this last night. It's Temu Taken. You never feel like he's in danger, he's just effortlessly wasting baddies with the aim of an Imperial Stormtrooper. There wouldn't be a fight scene that lasts more than 20 seconds. Statham has had some superb fight sequences, but not in this one. The bad guys are the usual nasty girl trafficking types but they're so useless you don't even get much satisfaction when they're despatched.

David Harbour and Michael Cera are in it for about three minutes apiece.

Can't believe Ayer did Training Day and End of Watch. Then again, hard to believe Shane Black has written such gold and then churned out The Predator.

Agreed. The movie plot/script is rubbish. I never felt the tension of danger situation or emotional pain from the family losing their child. Just Jason walking around disposing of bad guys wherever he goes. We're talking about Russian mafia here.
A few more like this and Jason Statham will be the next Steven Seagal.
