  • This is the final month for it. Hopefully a good lego deal or two before the month ends

    • +6

Its a shame though, I only used it twice, and I never signed up to Everyday Extra :) Probably why they are shutting it down. Got Ozbargained.

      • I dont understand? Were you able to use the everyday extra codes without having Everyday Extra?

        • +3

Yep. The codes works regardless. Bought an Philips airfryer in November, and a Moto G75 in March.

          • +1

@dyziplen: Oh wow, I had no idea, i guess thats why they are removing it. I presume thats not the case with woolies purchases? Bugger, so why am i paying for the everyday extra subscription lol

  • +22

The 10% off was the only reason we visited Big W each month. I wonder if they'll backtrack once they see a decline in revenue.

    • +8

I feel like a decline in revenue is why they cancelled it. Let's see.

      • +7

They just need to do better on price. Kmart is taking them to the cleaners with much cheaper prices for the same type of product.

        • +4

A closer look reveals the absolute garbage quality of most Kmart crap though. Not that Big W is that much better, but they are more akin to Target. Kmart deliberately positions themselves as “lowest possible price; quality be damned”

          • +3

@eggboi: Target is Kmart now. They sell Anko products at Target.

      • +2

I feel like its probably because of thousands of 10% off redemption from people that haven't signed up to the paid subscription

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/878543

This one was probably one of the first big deals that I remember, then there are the G75s one back in March-ish and now another.

For whatever reason, simply linking an everyday rewards account is enough, and they aren't able to check whether you actually have an subscription or not.

      • +2

Maybe they should change the name to Cheap W.

    • +2

Yep, there's no big w near me. I have to go out of my way to get to one. With no 10% off, it's not worth the hassle for me.

  • -3

Can we sign up now and still use it?
Would this work for the switch 2 - up to $500 of it?

    • +2

You'd think Switch 2 would be excluded.

    • +3

I believe consoles are excluded from the discounts.

    • +2

Nope. Switch 2 is $699 and it only works for up to $500 max saving of $50.

    • +2

Won't work with the Switch 2, just tried it. "Maximum cart value is $500 to use this code".

    • +1

Just so you know once you sign up for everyday rewards you can't delete your info, there is a federal government lawsuit currently preventing account deletion.

      • What about "Right to be Forgotten"?

        • Do we have that in Australia? I'm pretty sure that is a California and maybe European thing.

  • +2

    It says ‘up to $500’
Over $500 in cart not redeemed

    • One would think it's the discount code would just max out at 50$

  • Can I combine this with the $10 voucher received yesterday?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/906102

    • +2

No. I tried earlier and only one code can be applied at a time.

  • Might have to get that MC Focus, was hoping it went on sale before this finished.

  • What are some good appliances under $500?

    The death of BIGW

  • -7

Let them rot. Just tried to login.. we've sent a pin to your email, 2 minutes refreshing that to get a pin, great, now we've sent a pin to your mobile.. have to go find the phone… I absolutely hate this new system websites have been shifting to

    • You hate multi factor authentication?

      • -2

Do I hate multi factor authentication that I can't opt out of? Yes. I shouldn't have to spend 3-4 minutes to login to a website, especially if it's Big W. I have a password manager, they're all randomly generated, the 2FA or (3FA it seems) doesn't even give me a rolling OTP option that the password manager could actually fill in. So I have to go to my email and login, hit refresh about 7 times until it comes through, go back to Big W and put it in, get told I now have to enter a second pin from SMS, so I now have to go and find my phone wherever the hell that is, come back to Big W to type that in

So if I'm forced into their crap system? Yes, I hate it

  • cant buy anything for some reason payment issue when I can pay in person with no issue

  • Buy Stella blade. That game will never be cheaper than $75 due to its sexualised imagery.

  • +1

They con us to sign up Rewards back in the days for these 10% rewards

    • -1

Yep and now you can't delete your account because of a lawsuit by the federal government. I've been trying to delete since last year.

      • +1

        Do tell?

        • I hadn't used used mine in 15 years and was cleaning up old accounts. This was the response I got to a delete request. They'll let me know when/if I can delete MY info.

  • -2

Rarely used EDR code at BigW. Went to stock up on laundry products and found it cheaper at WOW (1/2 price specials). We have EDR + WOW Car insurance x2, so three 10% off shops per month. BigW code no big deal as you can find the same stuff online with free delivery or with OnePass linked shops eg Target.

  • Damn that sucks

Was very good value when stacked with the 5% off gift cards.

  • Code stopped working 30 May

    • +1

      just worked for me
      thanks OP
