    Thanks aldi

In light of the recent 4Corners documentary on Bunning's anti-competitive practices, it seems that Aldi (a German supermarket chain lol) has been their biggest competitor in the power tools segment.

That's why I'm just buying the Aldi stuff now.

  • That brushless reciprocating saw for 50$ is a great deal too

      347 people agree with you.

To be fair, this deal was mentioned there also.

I can personally report that bit of kit is actually awesome for 50 simoleons

Sadly they’re OOS at every store in my area. Hoping they come back soon!

Might as well change the name of the site to OzitoBargain at this point.

Too much Ozito… my house turned into a hardware-themed tomato.

  • There's an Ozito tool sharpener for $25 (half price)
    https://pricehipster.com/product/Gl6eBRo7oO2TlmD2vqQE9g~HJ1K…

    • I have one.. it’s not worth the money unfortunately

  • Come on, pricematch the 8ah battery already!

    • If you're game could get the Workzone one and try building one of those 3D printed adapters people have been using.

I've got the battery already so I'm tempted to try … one day … (aka never lol).

      • Hasn't seen any feedback online about doing this with an 8ah battery. Keen to know the results including what tool types were tried, took brands and if performance was much better.

    • Damn they sell an 8ah battery?!

I could harass the neighbours for hours with the leaf blower

  • Are the battery powered ones much quieter than the electric versions? I'm assume so but never used one before.

Also out of curiosity, do you feel more comfortable holding the grinder with the attachable handle in your right hand or left hand? (and which is your dominant hand?)

    • Both are deafening

I’m left handed and hold the tool in my left hand and grip in my right

    • Corded are more powerful. I use my cordless grinder for convenience . I think it is also quieter.

    • Who is angle grinding quietly lol

I don't want to wake the neighbours when I am removing my catalytic converter.

I recently sold the ferrex one of these, was absolutely horrible. On/off switch would get jammed and was very hard to use. The none brushless version of the ozito one is much better so I'd imagine this is even better.

Hoping Bunnings starts matching more of the range. Should be a good time to get a 35L vacuum and mini chainsaw. Would be nice if we didn't have to wait around for Aldi to give bunnings some competition to adjust prices.

  • what's the regular price ?

Always remember you can get adapters to use other 18 volt batteries, like Makita, with Ozito (Enihell) skins.

    For example
    https://www.aliexpress.com/i/1005006390482596.html
    and

    And for aldi.. https://www.aliexpress.com/i/1005007015545568.html

    • Have anyone come across aldi battery adapter to ozito tool?

    • Another place to check for adapters if you have a 3d printer are the 3d printer model libraries like thingiverse as there are some DIY adapter designs out there (Some of which are copied and sold on ebay )

  • If you want it for $80 still, at box hill, Vic they have a stack out the front with a hand written sign for $79.98. The tool shop proper tag price is back to $119, so you might have to argue with staff about advertised price.
