Kanto SX26 Speaker Stands (Black or White) $412.46 Delivered @ iWorld Australia via The Iconic

80

Kanto SX speaker stands have had stock issues for almost a year now, I had them on backorder with another seller since May last year for $630 (rrp $700 if you believe that). They're now in stock with The Iconic of all people and heavily discounted - the order I placed last night has been dispatched today. These stands have had plenty of very good reviews and in my opinion are probably the best you can get without paying for crazy designs from ultra expensive designers.

SX26's are 66cm tall, SX22's are 55.9cm tall.

SX22 also available for $374.96 delivered

SX30's not available in Australia and the distro is unlikely to get them in any time soon, approx $850AUD delivered via Amazon US.

From the listing:

ISOLATING WITH LOW RESONANCE - Bespoke isolation system and hard floor discs with silicone pads help to further isolate the speakers and stands from the floor. A fillable column with included bags for substrate reduces potential resonance.

SAFE, SECURE DESIGN - Heavy-duty base plates lower the centre of gravity so stands are more tip-resistant while added mass lowers the natural resonance of the system.

NO MESS MANAGEMENT - Run multiple thick cables through the dedicated cable column without running out of room or interfering with fill.

VERSATILE COMPATIBILITY - Provides two included top plate sizes for compatibility with a wide range of speaker sizes. Available in 22” or 26” tall models and in black or white finishes to match any space or aesthetic.

SIMPLE LEVEL ADJUSTMENTS – Easily adjust the level of your stands from the top of the base instead of awkwardly adjusting from the floor. The included bullseye level allows you to ensure your stands are set to extract the full potential of your audio system.

Includes

2 x Speaker Stands, 2 x Small Top Plates, 2 x Large Top Plates, 2 x Foam Pads for Small Top Plates, 2 x Foam Pads for Large Top Plates, 2 x Bags for Filling Material, Hardware, Manuals

Only showing 5 in stock but these might fit the criteria for less than 10 available.

    • Ahh my bad.. was too eager to get a post up….

        A worthy bargain IMHO.

    • We think this is a purchase limit of 5 rather than 5 in stock. In either case, 5 available in black & 5 in white so there is sufficient stock.

Not shitting on these in particular but goddamn, I really struggle to see the value in speaker stands at this price.

primarily the weight, quality of manufacturing, and thoughtful design points: cable routing, isolated feet which are adjustable from the top to get them level, needle feet and flat pads for hard floors, included bag for sand/shot, and two top plates to suit the speaker size being used.

I realise they're expensive, but in comparison to some other premium options, they have objectively better features and (provided the manufacturing hasn't changed) just as good manu quality. One example for comparison is the KEF S2 speaker stands @ $750 on sale or maybe the SQ1 @ $450 but the SQ1 seem to be less than half the weight, which people might want to consider if they have children and are concerned by possible knock-over.

      • yeah i use DJ spec type tripods at a fraction of the cost but to me $400 is ok if you're using a real nice set of speakers like KEF metas or Genelecs and you have money coming out of your a-hole

otherwise you can get away with a set of stacked cinder blocks like i did

        • Tbf cinder blocks are a good option if they suit your space, heavy af so shouldn't have any kind of resonance, and cheap

      • Oh yeah I get the benefits, I just don't think they justify the price, nor does the construction. My fronts sit on Dynaudio Stand 6s at the moment, which are probably a similar ask to these and although they look nicer than my old cheapies, and the internal cable routing is definitely cleaner, they're pretty minimal benefits over the old steel Norstone knockoffs I had that were super sturdy and cheap.

The cleaner looks of the Dyns was enough to justify a couple hundred bucks second hand, but no way I can see value in them at new price (even if I do really want the Stand 10s for the pretty X base).

Yeah it's definitely not a linear relation between cost and utility, but that's the same with most products I guess. For me, the price is justified and as far as I can see, better than most equivalent options. The DA stand 10 does look nice though

I know right….. most Ozbargainers just use old goon boxes or listen through the speaker of their Nokia 3310

      • your comment hurt someones feelings

  • I considered these for my R3 Metas but ended up going with a block of wood 11kg per speaker 😂

  • Mine just arrived and I've set them up, honest opinions are:
Overall fit and finish leaves a little to be desired - one of my bases has a slight imperfection in the casting and the threads for the bolts aren't great.
Also some reviewers suggested they don't need to be filled with sand/shot but that's definitely not the case.
Besides that they look great and blend in well with the rest of a mostly black tv/entertainment setup
