Kraken is currently running a referral promotion for new users. If you sign up using a referral link and trade at least $200 AUD worth of crypto, both you and the referrer will receive $100 AUD in Bitcoin.

  • I recommend using Up with PayID for the $200 deposit (and ANZ may/may not work), since ING and CBA may hold the transfer for 24 hours.

  • After buying the A$200 BTC, I instantly received a reward notification for the A$100 BTC.

Tip 1: To pay lower fees on buying/selling, get the Kraken+ trial and then cancel it after.
Update - Tip 2: Some users have mentioned that you need to ensure that you enter the referral code on signup, if it doesn't automatically populate. The referral code appears on the referral link. If it automatically populates, as it did for me, you don't need to bother with the code.

        That makes sense, I used a random code from the pool at the top of the page to sign up on 02/06/25 and then added my own code there so another random user must have used my code successfully. Everyone should get their bonuses too since I did nothing different. I never reached out to Kraken since 14 days hadn't passed for me yet.

      They clearly didnt want to pay out.. but I suspect they would have seen the comments on here and some reviews that have started to appear online, now they are paying out because its cheaper than the damage of not paying out.

      I think they were justified, (assuming the 14 days had actually passed), people were being told they weren't getting bonuses with genuinely bullshit excuses from kraken.

        I only have one referral bonus, recieved about an hour ago. This was potentially the bonus from the referral link I signed up with.

        I have not received anything for the other 10+ referrals, a few of which include close friends.

        My friend signed up on 6 June using tweaked $100 link so technically it was less than 14 days for this 1 referral bonus.

        All other referrals signed up from 29 May to 4 June.

        Their system is totally crooked!

        I already left a 1 start review. Its been 15 days. Email said within 14 days.. Will wait till tomorrow and make a complaint with the asic. Isuggest everyone do the same unless you get paid for all the bonuses you recieved emails for. This is the 2nd crypto referral/signup scam after OXO. Never again !!

      Is it against the terms to have referral posted online in the generator, to be shared with strangers? Clearly not if some people were awarded their bonus.

      Everyone has done the right thing as far as I can imagine, so I would love to know what the 'reason' is if any.

    Here's the thing, I'd never used kraken before, however this referral got me to finally sign up. I thought kraken pro was easy to use and has been my goto whilst waiting for the bonus. They can choose to stiff me but they will then guarantee that I will never, ever use their product again. And a complaint to the ACCC. If enough people complain the ACCC may take action (like they did against Valve). If they want to do business with Australians they can't scam Australians especially in an industry that already is known for scams.

      Been waiting for an agent, wait time keeps saying from 1-3 minutes for past 10 minutes already and still waiting.

    "We can confirm participation and further completion of the referral campaign. At the moment, our internal team is working diligently to go through eligibility checks and scheduling payouts for eligible clients.

    This means that it may take us more time to deliver. Rest assured, new updates should be present by the end of the week. 

    Feel free to reach back if no updates are received until the start of next week. For now, please allow us time to make sure that fairness is maintained."

    i will wait till next week. If not will complaint ACCC and leave review.

    Scam, i used kraken for ages but I might dip out of kraken. Revolut has crypto so i will go there. If they scam now, they could scam with something else. Not being able to complain with afca is another neg.

    So like many others I waited the 14 days after getting the email confirming I qualified for the $100 bonus. The Chat bot has disabled the ability to speak to support staff about the promotion so I have filled in their complaint form but don't hold out any great hope. I am only waiting for the initial $100 sign up bonus so I'm hoping this works in my favour as it's not much for them to deny me.

If you still don't receive it after 21 days, please check the specific terms in your Kraken app or contact support for further assistance.

      My view: if you change the payout date of a promotion you were running (which shouldn't happen in the first place), then at least have the curtsey to inform participants pro-actively, you don't leave them in the dark to raise support tickets and then have bot provide vague responses.

        There was no breach of T&Cs so I highly suggest to raise complaint with local.regulatory bodies because they have committed financial misconduct and identity fraud by offering bonus to sign up and then backed out.

        It's shane they are not AFCA registered but you can still complaint to ASIC ACCC, OAIC and AUSTRAC. Once they receive plenty of complaint, they are likekly to take action.

    So this time someone on live chat told me, that bonuses are pending and wait 21 days etc

    So the original live chat operator telling me i was not approved/breached TOS has lied, as the second live chat operator would have informed me the same information

    Seems they just make bullshit as each day comes

      I'd rather have them tell you "I'm sorry, I'm not aware of this promotion. But let me check this for you with backend team …" (I can understand if you want to do 24/7 support that sometimes you might have somebody from a different region. Could still be solved by them having a proper register of promotions etc.).

        yup its crazy isn't it? Funny thing is i've used Kraken as my go to for crypto and have put through well more than 10K worth of transactions the last couple of years. If they don't honour my 2 referrals i guarantee i'm never using them again and I'll tell my mates who I referred to do the same.
