    5GB data per month

    • +6

      Correct!

    • +5

Unlimited Calls & Texts per month!

    • +6

on average, but there is no monthly cap per se. You could use all of it in one month if you wanted to.

      • -1

Yeah but if you did that you're likely be buying data at high rates for subsequent months, that make this deal a poor choice, which is what the 5GB per month comment suggests to those who use more data.

        • +2

You can setup dala limits on phone these days. I set this up on my kids phones so they don't go over.

        • +1

Most people have wifi at work and home.
So just get a cheap 2nd Sim for data when on holidays.

          • @bargaino: Both students and adults tend to travel longer distances for study and work more than ever, and so data between work and home is the general concern for many.

            • @Fistov Stone: what do they use that much data for? Surely Australia isn't producing the bright students let along brighter or brightest.
Data mostly used for tiktok or mindless youtube/facebook scrolling isn't a need.
Is surely a first work problem with all that data "requirement" these days.

              • @soulblighter: Agreed, but that doesn't mean the data isn't used. Social media and entertainment consumes it.

            • @Fistov Stone:

travel longer distances for study and work

Driving and scrolling does not go well together. Glad I'm not in Sydney :-) Don't the trains have wifi?

              • @bargaino: Driving? A lot of people use public transport you know.

                • @Fistov Stone: "A lot" sure, but far more drive and have you forgotten the question here? There is a very large market for this type of SIM.
I would say the majority of people use less than 60GB of mobile data per year.
Even in Sydney, cars vastly outnumber train users. So most people don't need vast amounts of mobile data for scrolling crap in Instagram.

                  • +1

@bargaino: I'm all for this Sim, and appreciate the value, at no stage did I comment that this was a bad deal, just not for everyone.

Do we get access to Telstra store

    • +5

      No

    • +19

      Only Aldi store

      • +5

I've never come across a Telstra or an Aldi store that wasn't accessible, handy when in a wheelchair.

  • +32

I've been on this deal for years. $10 per month with Telstra wholesale coverage is a winner for me. With a 60 GB data allowance, it's is not a replacement for a home internet service, however, my mobile has enough coverage through WiFi that the mobile data quota has never been an issue. I love how any unused data rolls over to the next year if you autorenew (or manually renew at the correct time). I love that the data quota is 'per year' not 'per month', which means that when I do travel away from home I can splurge on mobile data and never have to worry about reaching any 'monthly cap'. This deal cannot be purchased online - you have to go into an ALDI store to get it, and they need to have the specially marked SIM kits in stock. If your local store is out of stock, you can ask the manager to phone other stores to check their stock. (These store phone numbers are not public)

      Is it 5G or 4G?

    • +5

Agreed, I just ported off Boost Mobile to More Telecom. I was on Boost's 365day plan with 160GB of Data. During the port I checked how much I had consumed. And I had barely used up 40GB over the course of a year. With so many wifi networks saved at the locations I often go to, I just dont use that much data.

60GB would be plenty given how much I consume.

      • Same here. I am on Coles 60GB plan since 2021. Last year, I had 60GB plus 50GB rolled over from previous years. This year I have 60Gb from plan, bonus 60GB, plus 50GB roll over, which makes it 170GB, which is very decent for a $120 recharge.

      • Does More Telecom have a 365 days plan? I've been on Boost for years, mainly for its large coverage of international calling which I don't see any other plan offer.

        • No. "More" doesn't have 365 days plan but if your home loan is from CBA then you can get it for $10pm for 25GB per month with unlimited international calling on Telstra's 5G wholesale coverage.
Been using it for couple of months and no issues whatsover.
It also has an Esim option too which you can opt while placing the order.

          • @Be Happy: I am curious if more than one service can be had with such a deal?

            • @hluu0111: You can have max of 5 services. The code is under the CBA yello.

      • Yes good call, I'm on the same Boost Plan and will go over if I can buy the SIM but not port over until my current Boost deal finishes in August. I too use almost no data as my phone is connected to my home network almost all the time. It will be interesting to see how long we have to activate the SIM :-)

    • so is $119 everyday pricing? if not how have u been on this deal for years

or did you mean this "plan" for years, not "deal"

asking to see if i have to rush and fomo or not

      • +2

Once you buy the super pack from the store for the first plan, you can keep recharging with the same plan at the same price without having to buy another super pack from the store. However, if you recharge with any other plan you won't be able to go back to this one without buying the super pack from the store.

        • +1

ah its good to know aldi lets you keep renewing it

    • +1

      267 + vote for 60Gb $120…likely people who lives in regional &/or remote-area, & NOT metro-area in big-cities?

  • +3

    Any eSIM option?

    • +4

no. Not only is it a physical SIM, you physically need to go into an ALDI store to get one as they can't be ordered online.

      • +5

        Very retro

      • Can I ask, is it possible we can transfer the physical sim to esim after buy the sim pack from the store? (I know Boost mobile App can do that)

        • +1

          ALDI mobile doesn't support esim.

        • +2

Nope, no esim option for ALDI which is disappointing, surely it's not that hard to add

    • This is really the only negative thing about Aldi Mobile.

I have been on Aldi for many years, great service, plenty of data for me but if there is ever a reason I leave it will be regarding eSIM. I have been thinking of getting a smart watch and I then need eSIM.

  • +2

What's the normal price? Is this a deal?

    • +6

The $119/year superpack is the normal price for a super deal that is only available during special promotional periods, typically June and December, and may not be available at all, and may be out of stock in one store requiring driving to another store to get one.

    • +8

You mistake promotion for deal, young OzBargainer. The question you ought to be asking is: How does it compare with the competition?

  • +4

    Am I missing something?
The linked page says this is no longer available to new users.
It's available if you're already on it, but then it wouldn't need to be a deal would it?

The ALDImobile $119 1 Year Super Pack is a limited-time promotional plan, and no longer available online to new customers.

    • +7

      'Online'

    • Yeah you're missing the writing in bold

      • OP has been edited since my comment.

      • There's never a JV around when you want.

  • +1

Is this available to new customers?

"The ALDImobile $119 1 Year Super Pack is a limited-time promotional plan, and no longer available online to new customers"

    • +6

I think you need to buy the physical package from the store, not from online. (They don't have this for online purchase anyway)

  • +2

It would be quite hard to find. No deal

    • +1

If your local ALDI store doesn't have any of the superback SIM kits in store, you can ask the manager to check stock at other ALDI stores.

    • "would be"

  • If only they took a photo of the SIM pack that is available in store.

  • This plan is very old. Does ALDI still sell these 60GB plans or is the linked page just the old plan details page for old customers?

    • Actually it is quite new, a year or two. Previously it was 20GB or something.

  • +10

Anyone know how long you can sit on it for before activating?

    • +1

Did you manage to get one?

They normally have an expiry date in the box.

      • nope, just saw the post lol.

      • Thanks just purchased the 2x Optus plans if network is not an issue, they do have esim and 5G for a little bit more with cashrewards tracking well for most.
http://ozbargain.com.au/node/908156 for $125 , $10.416 per month, with more data

        • +2

esim is listed as one of the exclusions for cashback there

  • +3

    $20 more you get 200gb with Kogan/vodafone?

I personally prefer the Telstra network but not everyone cares

    • My kogan sim has been pretty flaky with data of late and I rarely leave Brisbane.

    • I went from Telstra to Kogan 365 day plan, I really regret it.
I am two months in and very tempted to port out and forego my remaining balance. No coverage in many places in metro Melbourne.
Although I will say, that it is seemingly better in the city loop tunnels than Telstra.

      • Yes we tried Kogan for my teenage son and coverage maps were completely wrong. His now got a woolworths sim.

    • you have to care when you tried both, my work sim (Voda) showed 5G in the pub with no internet at all while my wife's (Telstra) show 4G with one bar but can go in the nsw app.
I always say this, in ISP, the GB or data doesn't say anything, i rather have less GB but good experience than unlimited data with throttled or limit the presence

  • +1

Already with aldimobile. Do I have to port out to get this?

    • Yes.

  • I have EzySim on a deal this past year. It was $87.50 for 100 GB on the Vodafone network. I've used 75 GB with 3 weeks to go, so I could definitely stick to 60 GB (I used more because I could). I think I prefer this one on the Telstra network (I definitely experienced some dead sports.

I think I want this one.

  • Has anyone actually seen one of these recently at an aldi stores?

    • Unlikely. 60GB plans are ancient now and not sold by most telcos.

      • +1

Yes, these packs are nowhere to be seen. I use a bit more anyway so this wouldn’t suit me

        • Read the post. ALDI sells ALDIMobile plans.

This Plan can only be obtained at an ALDI supermarket

      • amaysim have 60gb/365/$120

        • +2

That is an old plan. Cheapest amaysim plan is $240 200GB

          • @shxhshzhz: I'm still on their 120Gb for $149/365 days

          • @shxhshzhz: i’m able to change to it from my existing plan

  • Would have jumped on this if not having an offer of 60gb+60gb bonus from onepass mobile for $120. Oh well, maybe next year.

    • I can't find that one on Onepass Mobile's site :(

      • I think it's just a promo offered through the app for previous catch connect customers

        • Yep. Both my parents were on the $120 60GB plan (no longer available) with auto recharge turned off, about a week before expiry they both got the double data for $120 offer.

  • Do we get international calls?

    • No. PAYG

  • Cheapest plan to keep a number active?

I’m on Felix but their included 4GB international doesn’t work

    • By that you mean "park the number, throw the SIM card in the cupboard, set a reminder on Google Calendar and never think about it till next year" then Amaysim is the cheapest at $10. But if you port frequently into Amaysim for their new customer deals then it's not a good idea to park your number at Amaysim, and the next best is Aldi mobile for $20 ($5 SIM card+$15 recharge) for 60+365 days of having a number active and parked.

      • Amaysim is the cheapest at $10

Amaysim's cheapest As You Go recharge recently went up to $15.

      • incorrect lebara

        edit beaten oops

      • Can I churn to Aldi S5 sim and then churn out to someone else immediately without paying the $15 recharge? Thanks

    • +1

Lebara is $7 for the first year and $10 per year after that:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/844288

      • Good to know, it looks like Lebara has Amaysim beat.

Unfortunately I can't park my unused number at Lebara as I prefer the Vodafone network over Telstra where I am in Melb, so I'll be porting my main number to Lebara many times throughout the year.

    • Buy an Aldi Sim for $5. Recharge it within a month or two with I think $10-$15and you are good to go. Then repeat every year. If you don’t make calls you can even use your credit to pay for credits and 12 months.
