Swoop do have very good customer service, first dude on the phone knew exactly what CGNAT was.
Only issue was they didn't mention they have filtering / blocking, which took another call to turn off.
Their 'internet security' setting was blocking my OpenVPN.

    They also use pppoe.

Pretty good service, but more painful to swap to than other providers due to the above.

    • Swoop supports IPoE and PPPoE authentication.

    • Wait filtering/blocking? Does that mean everytime i need to access from outside the port will not work?

"which took another call to turn off."

If you dont ask for it disabled, yes.

      • +1

Swoop blocks these ports as do most providers.

        UDP: 19, 53, 111, 123, 161, 389, 521, 1900.

        TCP: 80, 443.

        These are all inbound blocks.

How to set up Port Forwarding and bypass CGNAT.

  • When I search my address, it only has “fixed wireless” available. What is it?

    • It can be either…

      1. Swoop using the nbn fixed wireless network.

      2. Swoop's private fixed wireless network.

With Fixed Wireless, Swoop Broadband bypasses these legacy networks by installing an antenna at your home or business which talks wirelessly to one of our communications towers, which can be located up to 30km away.

  • Does Swoop route through Sydney on the east coast or do they have nodes in Brisbane as well?

    • +1

Was with them last year in BNE. They route through Melbourne. They kept blaming my wifi for all the dropouts and general slowness. Churned to superloop and all my dropout issues went away.

  • I am getting this speed for $79 with Tengarine.

    • +1

Which speed? There are 3 offered. If you refer to 100/20 then swoop is cheaper.. If it's the others than yeah you are getting it cheaper. It pays to shop around. I swap every 6 months to a provider offering a cheaper plan, they have all been much of muchness in terms of speeds and service etc

    • But it's only $72 here

  • I assume we can't stack referral code with this offer?

    • +1

Stacking doesn't work. I think you have to wait until the 6 months is up.

The Offer is non-transferable; cannot be used with any other special offer or promotion; and cannot be redeemed for cash.

      Perks T&Cs.

  • Why would you not get 5G 100/18 for $56?

    • Link?

    • Because it drops a lot compared to a NBN

      • Does 4G and 5G on your phone drop often?

        • It's totally different.. we have experienced it. A couple of seconds to a minute drop during a zoom call happened almost in 1 out 5 meetings.

          • @sathishbds: I have 100 5G and it is rock solid. No complaints with FTTN previously other than price. I have 500 5G (outdoor antenna) at my overseas home and it is awesome

            • @vfmtech: Great that it worked for you. We had it for a year and its doesn't suits our needs.

    • Not everyone can get 5G.

      • 4G can do 100 easily

    • +1

The mobile spectrum is garbage when compared to fibre or hybrid fibre. It beats copper on longer runs, but not much else. 5G and starlink making the NBN obsolete is nonsense.

      • I have 500 5G (outdoor antenna) at my overseas home and it is awesome. Rock solid

  • *Termination fee

Do you need to call them and give notice to cancel before switching to another RSP?

    • Ouch would like to know this as well as I just started with them through econnex offer

      • Same price via econnex?
