and the all important battery condition?

    • +1

The seller claims "70% - 100%" in the listing, but they're listed as eBay Refurbished so they have to be over 80%…
      https://pages.ebay.com.au/refurbished-program/#refurbished

"Very Good - The item has minimal wear, passing a rigorous inspection. 80% battery life & supplied by a quality-vetted seller"

      • +1

cheers. That's not too bad. I was looking at a backup school laptop.

listed as eBay Refurbished so they have to be over 80%…

Yes sellers are very scared of the ebay police :-)

        • +2

eBay conditions overrules anything the seller claims, so if it rocks up with a sub-80% battery you just lodge an "Item not as described claim" and send it back for a refund..

Same with all refurb purchases, check them over 100% when you first get them, do a Windows "battery report", test every port, check the specs, and send them back for a refund if everything isn't as claimed…

          • @FLICKIT: With ebay plus, you don't even need to bother with that. They have free returns.

Places like Max or ACT are not deliberately trying to scam you, but they often get things wrong, and sorting it out can be a frustrating process. But with eBay plus free returns, it is all automated and painless.

      • Nice, I didn't know that.

All this time i thought it was just some meaningless label

Is it the same as this?

    https://ebay.us/m/hkqKz7

    • +1

The eBay one has a slightly different CPU and has 512GB storage compared to 256GB.

      • +2

Yeah I'd say that it's almost exactly the same machine minus the 512GB SSD. The CPU is exactly the same but just a slight bit faster (you wouldn't notice in regular usage at all).

Ebay one works out to be around $60 cheaper as well

          • @da1nonly: They're both ebay? Haha

@Matt86: Oops i was meant to say the link posted by Lingnoi =P

    • Found this on amazon, 40ish bucks more for a 8 gen
      Leaving most towards this now

I don't believe that's a 2-in-1. May not matter to others, deal breaker for me

        • Oh yes
          Great point.
Even the cheaper eBay one with 512gb ssx doesn't mention 2in 1

    • With the JUNEOFY22 code it comes down to $311.22 Which is pretty good, not sure how bad the physical condition is though.

      • How? Showing showing 350ish for me

        • I'm not talking about the one in the post, I'm talking about the one Lingnoi posted.

  • Whats the actual HP product number?

  • Now I'm just stuck in deciding which one to get from maxdirect
    IT or i7 arghhhh

  • Seems the code is for certain other refurb devices as well. I got an Asus 2-in-1 AMD R7 5700 for $400.

I didn't need it, as is the OzBargain way, but I guess it's a good little laptop to throw in my bag when I go overseas or something.

  • I wonder if the BIOS settings are locked on these?
