This is for the 2025 variant with the matte coating.
I prefer this as I find the glossy QD-OLED picks up scratches VERY easily even with microfibre and gentle wiping.
However, it does lose some of the smart features that the G80SD (last year's model) have.
With 10% loyalty code (customer service) and 100 trade in, it can be had for $1169.10.

The slightly cheaper 32" G80SD can be had for $1079.1 with 200 trade in and 10% loyalty code.
The 27" G81SF is sub 1K with this method (sorry I forgot the exact number but IIRC it was around 979).

FB marketplace is a good place to get free TVs/monitors to trade in.

This product cannot be delivered to a number of postcodes in NSW, QLD, VIC and WA (as well as all of TAS and NT).

I am just waiting for 5K OLED monitors for sooooo damn long. MacOS indahouse and it's sloppy 4K scaling.

  • Chuck in a couple of 100 bucks more and get this 50 inch monstrosity: https://www.samsung.com/au/monitors/gaming/odyssey-oled-g9-g…

  • The 2024 has the matte coating as well. Biggest difference is that this doesn't have the Samsung OS crap. I have last year's g8, would prefer this :(

    • It's even more matte. Lol

I have last year’s model and used it as a dining room tv so the smart features worked for what I need it for. Great display.

Glad they added an audio out on this one!

  • Thanks OP!
Are the loyalty codes targeted? I cant seem to find mine, not sure where to sign up to..

u just chat online, they will give the 10% code

What qualifies for the loyalty code? I don’t have a single Samsung product to show for unfortunately. Any way around this?

          Send me a DM.

  • How do you get the loyalty 10% discount?

    • Hey mate.

      Send me a DM.

  • Loyalty code - I just told them I have Samsung products and want to buy a new monitor
    - can be done via live chat or over the phone.
I had to give evidence/serial number to get one but a friend got one without any proof so YMMV.

    Good luck

  • I know its been asked a million times.. but this vs the LG 32GS95UV-B?

LG Chat will provide a 10% off code aswell, so $1260 for the LG WOLED vs $1170 for this Samsung QD-OLED

or the MSI with the same panel as the Samsung but Glossy(er) screen for $1500 from JB?

    • I came across this from a Reddit user, it may help you compare between models:
      https://comparepcmonitors.com/

It really comes down to what features you're after and price.

I know a lot of people are adamant about glossy OLED screen, in which case, this Samsung won't be for you since it's matte.

    • This Samsung has a disgusting silver bezel.

    • What do you need to do to get the 10% off from LG?

      • They asked me to sign up for the membership and that was really about it. They tried to pressure me into buying it on the spot to get the code but I refused.

  • Twenty bucks for a heatsink

  • Jumped on this deal. For anyone curious, they want the serial number (not IMEI). Device does not need to be in the same category as the purchase device. For phones, you need to provide a snapshot of the settings with the SN. For other devices that have the SN outside, a snapshot of the sticker / print with the SN is good enough. The device does not have to be registered with Samsung - I used a very old Samsung tablet I had, but I also had a phone in case needed.

  • Does Samsung give loyalty discounts for EPP purchases? I've made the point that it's pointless making EPP purchases when the prices from the regular online store so often has better deals

    • Code works for EPP for me but overall price was higher as trade in value was only 25.

    • The loyalty discount is reduced to 5% of EPP, with lower trade in value as well it ends up being a worse deal

  • Honestly would pick this one up over the 2024 version. The smart features suck.

  • I have both the G81SF 27inch and the G80SD 32inch from last year. AMA if you still need to decide.

    • Thoughts?

      How's the graining?

My main concern is the cleaning. I've heard the G80 picks up micro scratches even with micro fibre that don't affect viewing.
      How does the G81SF compare?

      • Don't really recommend. I think the Dell 27inch Alienware QD-OLED is a safer choice. Otherwise just get the G80SD

G81SF coating is much more grainy than the G80SD. The G80SD is more like a semi-matte or they did it so nice that you don't see the grainy pixel. On the G81SF I need to focus on the picture behind that coating to not notice the grainy, it's very annoying at first but I got used to it.

I'd say G81SF coating is pretty much like the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 that it's so grainy, and the same matte coating for the OLED tv S95F or the frame 2022, while the coating of G80SD is in its own class. More grainy means better handling reflection, but I honestly don't see much difference here.

I didn't notice any micro-scratches in my G80SD so far but it's understandable in that coating.

Having said that, the G81SF have slightly better colors, probably because of the 5 layers colour tandem oled

        • Yeah you get it when you shine a bright light on it. You don't see it when off/ no focused light.

      • Someone on Reddit also reveals the panel coating certificate of G81SF and G80SD. Apparently the G80SD shares certificate with 2024 QD OLED lineup (same coating with S95D), while the G81SF shares with a bunch of other crap and the S95F. They've really overdone it. It looks good on the TV because of pixel density is much lower, and nobody sits close enough to tell the grainy parts

        • I had a S90D. The coating only really came with the S95D and not lower models.

  • Damn. Now I'm torn between this and the G80SD. Might do a return on this when it arrives on Thursday. Apparently I can just do a refusal of delivery and they end up refunding me with no restocking fee if it's unopened.

    • Honestly if you're after a 32inch, then the G80SD is a superior choice, if you're after a 27inch, G81SF is not a bad option.
I chose G81SF pretty much because of brand loyalty and it's cheaper (got a bonus 2tb 990 Pro SSD)

  • Seems like they've nerfed the 10% loyalty code to no longer work.

Nevermind. It just doesn't stack with EFY code.

    Bummer

  • this Samsung or LG32GS95UV-B or LG32GS95UE-B

    • UV OOS. UE is a fair bit pricier.
