$100 price drop compared to last deal. A little better I guess.
Excludes Northern Territory, WA Remote.

Why not just say you want a budget PC
Lol 3K is a budget PC, what a joke.
5k, 6k for just a gpu, is it a joke?
How would that be the best PC when there are 2 GPU tiers above the 5070Ti? Wtf
I think they mean the best PC on a $3000 budget
you can build a mid-high end pc, not the best
I remember the days when 3k would you get and insane water cooled build. Now that's just the price of a high end gpu.
$1000 Titans and that was already considered overkill.
Crazy!
Resist the urge to reward Ngreedier for this gpu pricing mess, plus it’s palit.
The HODLers were right. The GPU stock price increase is crazy.
Interesting that all the FUD was “tariffs will massively drive prices up” when that hasn’t happened at all
Give it time
How much? A week a month a year?
Why would it drive up Australian prices?
Exactly.
I thought everyone was laughing at how american's don't understand tariffs. Seems we aren't so different in that regard
If board manu's decide to subsidise American consumers by increasing prices in other regions is how.
Yep. Lefties don't understand economics, they're all socialists and think evening is free
Yeah, maybe, but we still have our humanity, so there is that.
Lefties don't understand economics, they're all socialists and think evening is free
Last time I checked evening was free? Unless you are paying for it for some reason?
@sidesw1pe: Sorry to say your sunlight subscription is Time of Use and does not cover periods when the sun is +/- 15 degrees of the horizon.
Use the code 'SunSynchronous' to get all-hours access to our closest star - even at night!
@sidesw1pe: I got the package deal, comes with night. Couldn't afford the morning and afternoon add ons
I remember back when the GTX Titan was available for $1000 I thought that was crazy to spend that much on a GPU. We didn't know how good we had it.
Titan Xp was my last GPU. $1600 brand new at launch directly from Nvidia. I noped out of building PCs during the 3080/3090 debacle.
And there is nothing stopping us from having that well again if it weren't for corporate greed and putting the shareholders first. Even if you double the cost of manufacturing, the latest GPUs should not cost $5000+ .That's just obscene and disgusting and is really a corporate company giving its founding customers a big middle finger.
Ngreedia is biting the hand that fed it and if history has taught us anything (Kodak,Polaroid, Nokia, BlackBerry, Blockbuster, et al.), someone may come out with a competing product (Bolt Graphics perhaps?) and, next thing you know, Ngreedia have lost market share and are considered irrelevant for consumers.
Or AMD/Intel's next batch of GPUs blows everyone's digital knickers off with something amazing.
I get your anger about “corporate greed”, but your scenario of having competition is precisely why they need to build up revenue/profit to have the cash and incentivise funding to do research and innovate so that they can compete.
I bought a 970 for like $470, cancelled order and went for a 980ti which at the time was $650-750 can't remember. Before that was an R9 290 that was $500 or so. These prices are very high now lol.
Oh no argument here, I had a 980 which was about $600.
Surely anyone who's spending this much on a GPU would go all in and buy a better brand.
Why would you spend more on a brand for the same performance?
I had a Palit 9080Ti card back in the day and it was one of the best cards I ever had
The 9080Ti isn’t going to be released for another 9 years!
Lunacy…
just out of curiosity.. how much do you think a used 4090 (asus rog strix oc) would go for these days?
You would probably get around 2500
Ive been offered for my Tuff 4090 3500 which is only $100 less than what i paid for it originally. its a great market but Im not spending extra to get a 5090. nvidia and their pricing can get fked
More likely closer to $3500
to give you some idea here are ebay sold items, australia, sellers with score 10+; no "parts-only":
AU $3,250.00; AU $2,950.00; AU $3,500.00; AU $3,620.00; AU $3,850.00; AU $3,800.00; AU $3,699.00; AU $3,600.00; AU $3,549.20; AU $3,650.00; AU $3,680.00; AU $3,750.00; AU $3,450.00; AU $3,738.88; AU $3,489.00; AU $3,660.00; AU $3,200.00; AU $3,500.00; AU $4,200.00; AU $3,599.00; AU $3,800.00; AU $4,200.00
yeah, more than they were brand new… insane
The 3090 surged in price too, it went from about $1000 to around $1500 (for a while there it was even higher at like $1800)
@Terra Australis: Saw about five marked sold at $3000-$3500 on FBM four weeks ago. Had these listings saved.
We dont know if they were negotiated down further but even in forums people were offering more than $2500
Haha, that $3850 was my upgrade to 5090! $350 for a 5090 upgrade at launch was crazy :P
No shit. I'm looking to offload my ASUS TUF on OCAU. What reserve price should I be setting it at?
Cool but still overpriced.
far too much sadly, you normally expect GPUs in the 2nd hand market to get cheaper on the launch of a new GPU but the value proposition of the 5000 was so incredibly bad that older generations prices actually went up.
There's a reasonable argument that if new gpu prices never go down (due to market manipulation, etc.), such that the resale value of an enthusiast-tier card contains to remain high (what with generational uplift in raster performance having plateaued and people eventually needing to upgrade from their old 1000 series card), then buying something like a 5090 if you can get it near MSRP is not so stupid an idea because it becomes a use asset; eg. a car. Yes it be expensive upfront, but if you can later sell it with good timing for at least ≥ 50% of what you paid, you can put those funds towards your next GPU upgrade- and you'll probably need to upgrade less often per boots theory.
Wait for further drop
Buy flowers for girlfriend … $25
Take girlfriend to restaurant … $95
Netflix and chill … $18.99
DIY t2v pawn … Priceless
Restaurant only $95? You'll need to do better than KFC.
Getting a gf - priceless**
Lol
If I buy two, can I run this in SLI?
no
I'm gonna buy two anyway. If I had the money I'd buy 10.
It pays for itself eventually if you're into data mining or whatever the wizzbang terminology is.
Can only imagine the elite framerate in GTA V … or Rocket League when using one too!!
Yes – GTA V should have a high frame rate.
GTA V PC will be released in 2027. Get a 6090 then, or get a 6070ti for the similar performance
Even though other games have long since been used as benchmarks (hello Cyberpunk!). I still use GTA V as a guide today from a 560ti to 2080ti and various laptop gpus.
The price of this model has been dropped through MSRP in EU
Ok, so where can we buy it for cheaper than what is posted?
Amazon UK
Thanks OP. Bought 2 to run in SLI.
NVidia has removed SLI/NVlink from their cheaper gaming cards since the last generation.
I will make it work.
True, you don't need SLI to benefit from multiple cards, especially with only two cards.
Near $5000 and Nvidia have killed off Physx support so 2010 era AAA games now run worse on 50 series cards VS a 4090.
Thanks NV, you've convinced me not to buy.
List of games with Physx: 961
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/List_of_games_that_support…
Glad I got my 4090 laptop for $3000. The 5090 laptops have no additional performance and dropped PhysX.
Nvidia are scummy but it is important to clarify that the 50 series cards still support 64 bit PhysX fine.
It is only about ~43 older 32 bit PhysX games from 2007 to 2014 that are negatively affected and not the full 961 PhysX games that are out there
Yeah its not as bad as people make it out to be. It is a bit cringe seeing people parroting it too when its clear they have no idea what theyre talking about.
What games are yall buying this for? like we wont be getting anything thats pushing the boundaries both visually and technically until like GTA6 or Witcher 4 and both those are years away
For the 'RTX 5090 owner' tag on each or their reddit comments 😀
Probably buying these in bulk for use in servers that will power some type of AI subscription service.
Oz"bargain"
In 10 years time top consumer GPUs will be $10K
I would say in less than 5 years
But could you imagine the graphics?
Can't imagine a single game worth that kind of power.
Meanwhile, the internet will have their pitchforks out if Nintendo or Sony release a console over $500
And someone will still post them as a "deal".
$$$$, get real!
I suddenly don't need so many fps
Nvidia RRP Is $4050 or something. This is a reference design pcb… so how is $4799 a bargain ? Only people buying this card should be people who do rendering or work on AI.
AI is also a very weak justification for the performance, cost, and limited VRAM.
API or cloud will work better for most use cases, and cheaper methods to get more VRAM if you want local models.
There are a few cases at least, when your models are small enough to fit a few such cards and you need to run multiple experiments with training, being able to load such cards most of the time. Renting the remote server for half a year or more may be more expensive and/or less convenient. At least it was the case with 3090 and 4090 cards.
That makes sense when you have high enough utilisation. I've been considering it too for AI learning, but I don't see myself having enough time for playing with it and the VRAM is rather limited for running larger models.
High yeild investment video card
Wanting to upgrade my 7900xt, hopefully AMD makes a 9080xt or something in the future.
2% off an inflated price. Blows my mind that people up vote deals in such an inflated market.
Excited to see battlemage slowly reintroduce competition, especially given the leaps and bounds Intel's drivers have done on their 1st gen budget cards.
A true 4k graphics card
Not even a gaming GPU at that price.
You have up have rocks in your head to pay that sort of money for a gpu.
Agreed. Only very rich people e.g. tech people, crypto/Bitcoin traders, scalpers, etc would buy overpriced graphics card/gaming PC.
You could buy a PS5 Pro and 40 games (more or less) for the same price. And on top you need a computer powerful enough to justify the cost. Obviously the card allows for higher quality than a PS5 and has different applications than just gaming but when you think about it in these terms, it truly is an insane price.
came here for the bargain, stayed for the political chat… classic ozB
Ah waiting for the 5090 Ti, so I'll wait for the $7k GPU instead.
not unless it has 2 VHPWR connectors
Have they fixed the power connector failure problems with the 5090?
If it's been fixed great this is the best card out there.
If not people need to be aware of that before buying as it's dangerous and can not only fry the card but other parts in your PC.
Cant you build the best pc for $3,000 with a 9800 5070ti and have $2000 spare?
