    Great price

  • i was thinking of this or the BE86U and cant decide which to use the coupon on…

    • AX86u supports merlin if you're interested in that.

Never mind they both seem to support it.

      • They both have it, that's a reason to go for the BE86U imo is it is more likely to have long merlin support but not sure how much that will differ/matter

    • If price difference isn't significant enough for you, BE86U has 10Gbps and 2.5Gbps ports. Most likely a more powerful chipset (too lazy to check). The main down side is if you have IoT devices, ones with older chipset or firmware will require you to dial down the security settings a bit with BE86U.

      • IoT isnt really an issue in my case, i think i will go with the BE86U but will wait just in case of additional sales before end of month

          RT-BE86U lowest was $399.

RT-BE86U $362 with Amazon business is a good buy.

  • Have they fixed the 2.4ghz wireless crashing?

    • +2

I've owned mine for years and need to restart it every couple of weeks cos the wireless network fails in one way or another - hope that helps.
IMO its not a very stable router - I'd do your research buying one. No fixes for me yet.

      • is that happening regardless of automatic restarts being used?

        • I have it set weekly - it doesn't offset it, but doesn't always make the week. Should probably change to 2x times a week.

          • @TheCad: I've had the 86u in lots of different versions. Back with the original I restart it 2 to 3 times per week using the schedule.

To this day I find with even the gt-6000 and the ax86u they still need restarts weekly to keep them in top operating condition .

Is it an RT-AX86U Pro only issue or RT-AX86U has the same issue as well?

        • +3

I've had no such issue on my AX86U. Owned it for many years.

    • I have the BE98 and the 2.4ghz crashes also… Is this an issue with all?

      • I assume what is being referred to is also an issue with my RT-AC5300 as well but don't think it happens that frequently

        • I am getting Disassociated due to inactivity (4), rssi:-57 and WLC_SCB_DEAUTHORIZE error (-30)
Disconnecting all 2.4ghz. 5GHZ works fine though

    • +1

I bought mine March 2024 and has been rock solid and haven't had any issues.

    • Latest Merlin firmware fixes this

  • -6

How's this different from my Kogan one I got for free?

    • This one is good….. very good

      • Mine is good too… Doesn't skip a beat?

  • The best one

  • -3

Amazed they are still selling Wifi6 when 7 has been out for so long now

  • seems like a great deal do you know when it expires?

    • I dont think the business price itself expires.. but the $100 off coupon i believe expires end of this month

  • Hi guys, this could be a dumb question but how do I use Amazon business? does it require an ABN?

    • +1

Yes you can search amazon business in google to get there, you can use your original amazon account to sign up but must provide and ABN as well as entity name. It may ask you for documents, I ignored that and got approved at open of business next day anyway.

  • I’ll wait till the next gen Telstra modem comes out and it’s $50 on fbmp

    • Tell me more please

  • GLinet Flint 2 vs this model?

    • Can still pre-order the Flint 3 (if you want wifi 7) for around $250.

      https://store.gl-inet.com/products/flint-3-gl-be9300-tri-ban…

The Asus RT-AX86U Pro was released September 2022 so will likely go EOL long before the Flint 3 which can be had now for around the same sort of money.

    • The Flint 2 has better specifications and is cheaper.

I run Asus because I like the Merlin firmware and reliability.

      • Depends on your needs, Flint 2 doesn't have wifi 7,tri-band, or multi-link operation for instance.

    • I went with one of these over the Flint. There were some limitations with the Flint when I compared but can't honestly remember what they were.
Either way, great router. No issues on 2.4ghz either.

Price Update: Now $207.89 Delivered, using the code.

    • Which code? None showed.

      • I mean the coupon for Amazon business for first purchase, automatically applied

  • +1

I'm unable to use the EOFY promotion. I chatted with customer service, and he said that after receiving the business account confirmation email, I need to wait 2 working days before the offer becomes available. Is it the same for everyone else?

    • Do you have full access? Once I was not only able to browse business Amazon, but actually buy.. I instantly saw the coupon

      • I believe I have full access and can browse the Amazon business website, but after adding item to the cart, the discount is not automatically applied.

        • Did you not see it listed under the payment method (before selecting a payment) as you might need to tick it Also, are you using it on the product from the deal or using it on something else that might not apply the coupon?
