Thank you for your valuable input.
No
Shure ?
Yeah I would take any review site that has SE215 as best budget option with a huge grain of salt.
These any good for ASMR videos? Asking for a friend
yea
Anc?
Nope. Momentum 4 when on sale at $270 or lower.
Ty
Not worth looking at anywhere near this price, the world has moved on.
Here's a shortlist of closed backs:
- FiiO FT1 ($160-$180 after cashbacks during AliE sales, maybe $250 sale locally)
- Sennheiser HD 620S ($250 or less in eBay sale)
- Audeze Maxwell (if it ever goes on sale sub-$400)
- Aune SR7000 ($920ish via Elise Audio, $800ish via Taobao)
If the maxwells' go on sale It will be like Christmas, so far lowest I've ever seen is 479.
so glad sony bought them out and did nothing with them…
It was specifically Playstation that bought them. They left them free to operate their brand and do their own R&D, and they now also make products for Playstation (Pulse Elite, Pulse Explore).
Maxwell did hit $400 at one point - albeit not locally - probably will again.
Your not comparing the right product here at all, Your literally linking to closed back headphones?
In ear monitors are extremely popular in the music/tv/presenter space this is why this entire unit is clear as well.
This is also why the angle of these is around to the back of the ear not just dropping down either it can then be tucked into clothing and be as less obvious as possible.People on stage performing live don't want to be wearing huge headphones they have earphones to hear what is being said to them of what is occurring on set it can go completely unnoticed practially.
My bad, was late and read this as the SRH840 closed back!
Some of the short list for IEMs would be:
- Truthear x Crin Zero: Red 2 @ $75
- Truthear Hexa @ $95
- Sennheiser IE200 @ $120
- 7Hz Timeless @ $200 (or a similar planar design for $140-$160, usually v-shaped)
- Moondrop Blessing 3 @ ~$320 with current AliE deals stacked (must use supplied DSP cable)
In terms of stage-relevant fit, probably the IE200, but that specific application probably has better options than either or the Shure lineup, which has fallen way behind in terms of audio quality.
10 years ago….maybe true……
2025, lol
