Saw the AI 5 340 version of this model previously and found HP dropped the AI 7 350 version even cheaper.

  • Thanks OP, got one. Just what I was looking for my 7 week trip :)

  • Code did not work, expired? or am I doing something wrong?

    • Just worked for me 5 minutes ago

      • Annoying, would have picked this up

Thanks OP! Just bought one! Amazing price for such a sleek and seemingly powerful laptop. Perfect timing too as I needed a new laptop as my now ex-wife is keeping our old one.

    • So do you have a current-wife now?

      • Not yet, but I'm taking applications :D She definitely didn't wait to let someone else in!

        • Me (and your ex) right now :O

  • I assume no ram upgradeability?

  • This one is not better that the Lenovo Yoga 7i slim from this deal right ?

I don't have any experience with HPs, but I didn't have good experiences with the last two Lenovo yoga ones.

One 3 years old is not turning up anymore, and the other one 4 years old, the hinge is completely broken.

Maybe i will go with a refurbished ThinkPad for better construction and durability

  • How does this compare to the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 14 OLED AMD Ryzen AI 5-340? What's the difference?

I found both webpages for each laptop:

HP OmniBook 7 Aero Next Gen AI 13-bg1070AU

      Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 14AKP10

Big differences in memory at quick glance, with the HP seemingly beating it out handedly. Lenovo has the OLED screen and Wifi 7 if that's a big deal for people.

Lenovo Slim 5 has more upgradability on RAM and a 2nd SSD NVME slot. It weights around 1.4kg.

      https://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/2542?M=83HX001AAU

HP Omnibook 7 Aero is much lighter (<1kg) with soldered RAM and only one SSD NVME slot. Its peak performance may sustain shorter becuase of the slim chassis fitted with smaller fan and heatsink inside.

    $160 more for a newer processor when compared to $760 - Aero 13.3" QHD, AMD Ryzen 5 8640U, 16GB RAM, 512GB

TBH, I reckon Pavilion Aero 13.3 is a better deal but it is OOS now.

Omnibook 7 Aero has a better CPU but it won't have much difference due to limited heat dissipation capacity of the slim chassis.

      • The Omnibook will have better battery life because of a more power efficient CPU. The Aero 13 is quoted at 10 hours of mixed use, the Omnibook 7 has 12 hours.

Both machines have the same capacity battery at 42whr.

  • Does it have fingerprint reader?

  • What is the use case of this PC? My Acer Nitro 5 has Copilot.

  • Got scarred by an HP x360 14ba130tu laptop back in the dsy.

    Strongly distrust HP.

What models/lines are good / safe?

Urgh 43Wh battery? That thing better have some god-tier efficiency or it's going to be super annoying to use.

    • HP shared some projected battery-life figures for the OmniBook Aero 7: up to 12 hours and 15 minutes of mixed use, or 15 hours and 45 minutes of straight video playback.

EDIT: They ever specified the model so it was likely the base spec AI 340… There's no info on their site but the Ebay listing says Up to 11 hours and 45 minutes.

  • Hi does the laptop come with windows 11? I can’t find the info on the eBay link. I’m looking for a laptop for my son at high school and this seems pretty good if it’s under $1000. I’m looking for at least windows 11- google chrome- 16 gb- 512gb ssd- i7- 13 inch- or do you think there will be more deals

u can assume all hp laptops or all laptops (except framework and chromebooks) to come with windows. The image itself has the laptop running win11. and even if it doesnt come with windows you can install windows on it easily. some people go the extra mile(km because not american) to reinstall windows to get rid of any software preloaded by the manufacturer. google chrome can run on windows, linux or macos so its not an issue either.

      • Thank you. I’m pretty new to this and bought a gaming computer a couple of years ago which had no wifi or windows- so now I’m super cautious
