Quite tempting especially if you can get it down to 800 with the code but shame that it is the 155U and not 155H, the iGPU seems abysmal

      • Ah I assumed the sale price would be 1000 and that you would be able to use the HPJN20 code on top

IPS display with 300 nits doesn't look very tempting

      and 62.5% sRGB…

      • Box ticked with OLED then smaller with such a low sRGB. A new low?

  • +2

1920 x 1200 pixels. Why are companies like HP and Dell still pushing these low resolutions in 2025? Not very Ultra.

    • -1

Not just that but 60hz screens as well.

    • +3

      Because they draw less power
They also reduce the need for scaling

      • Makes sense, until I remember many phones have more pixels than that.

  • +2

Showing as 1359 for me with discount

  • Price jacked up

  • Price hasn't dropped.

  • +1

What is the battery size on it? Showing $1699 with 20% discount = $1359.29

  • Not a deal

  • +2

Price updated on eBay. It's 999 now

    • $999 including the discount. Can't go down any further.

      • -1

20% discount compared to 50% on supermarkets is not bargain ;)

  • Thanks op. Just got 2 for my parents each.

  • bought 1 thanks for the post. $999.20 after 20% off.

It weighs 1.87kg. I guess It will be a backtop instead of laptop. Maybe better for desk rather than travel.

    • Macbook Pro 16' is 2.16 kg, to put it in perspective.

      • +1

Yes. But it does not make them travel friendly, especially for carry on on the plane with 7-14 kg carry on limit

        • That's why 13" is also available.

        • If you want travel friendly, then a 16" laptop is absolutely the wrong choice.

You need to choose a 13" lightweight.

  • Thanks op. Got 1. Compared with HP OmniBook 7 Aero AI PC 13.3"2K AMD AI 5 340 16 GB 512GB SSD AMD840M, but got this one at the end.

  • Thanks OP, I've been needing a laptop. Picked up the HP Omen Ultra 7 14 inch 5060 for $2700. A bit of an impulse buy, can anyone tell me if I screwed up?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/365669559326

    • +2

You screwed up. 5060 is crazy at that price.

      • Ah crap

    • +1

      Yikes. Cancel it.

      • Thanks fellas, that teaches me to do such a large impulse buy. Submitted cancelation request. I'll just deal with my dying Surface Pro for a little while longer.

  • How usable is 62.5% SRGB on this display. Seems like trash…

    • Definitely trash.

    • +1

Are you doing professional graphic editing?

Are you putting this next to a 100% sRGB monitor where you'll notice the difference and get annoyed?

If not you'll probably not notice

  • HP OmniBook 7 Aero AI PC 13.3" WQXGA AMD AI 7 350 32GB 1TB SS seems like a good buy for the spec

  • +1

    I don't envy this machine.

long-time listener, first-time caller here… I have this laptop and had the previous version. Both through work. I would not purchase this laptop at any price point. The latest version is better but I would sooner settle for a surface pro.

    • +2

I would not purchase this laptop at any price point.

      Why ?

      • Hi dcep, for me it's a very poor laptop. I've had a few colleagues with the same laptop and its had quite a few issues. One such issue was you couldn't use official HP cables to connect to another monitor. I know it sounds ridiculous but thats what our IT dept told us. That's just one example. It kept resetting my log in details. I had to fresh install windows.
