Just purchased this for my new build. Reviews look decent and ranks in the B tier for PSU.

You might break even in about.. 10 years?
80 PLUS Gold standard has only 4% more power efficiency than Bronze under 50% typical load. If the system runs at 400W for a whole hour, you would barely save 20Wh on a Gold PSU rather than on a Bronze one, which is about $0.0055 per hour saving.
Oh yeah, that typical load, precisely measured average temperature in a hospital. And the cost is also so much typical so I'm charged plus half of that, unfortunately. But someone may pay less, I don't argue.
Difference is more % when there's no gaming, and more watts when you fully use graphics. It's an example to show how little the energy would be saved by the little efficiency difference. Main stream gaming PCs would have a total power around that when gaming 300(GPU)+70(CPU)+30(Others)=400W
400/88%(80 PLUS Bronze @50% load)= 455W
400/92%(Gold @50% load)=435WTo provide 400W power to PC, the power consumption using Bronze PSU is only 20W higher than using Gold one.
When not gaming, though the % difference might be higher, the absolute difference would be lower, resulting in even lower $/hour savings. Difference is only 1% more under 20% load and 100% load if you meant this.
It's not recommended to run a GPU higher than 300W using 650W PSU.
@Meteor Anarcom: 70 CPU? Why do I see numbers like 130-170?
Your formula excludes low efficiency areas, and you should add the parasite heat to aircon bill as well. It also affects quality of psu life - more heat sooner caps die, quality of user's life - more heat more rpm of the fan - more noise. How much does that cost?
You keep taking very average info. Specs can reduce with the time and vary from model to model a lot. Some may be as good as gold, just not renewed certification because its expensive for budget psu. But some el cheapos hardly meet specs.
Better off getting more power efficient CPU and GPU :).. also undervaluing and turning on ErP (Energy-related Products) setting in the BIOS primarily reduces power consumption when the computer is off or in standby mode, aiming for a <1 watt power draw
I believe it was $169 or $159 during EOFY Sale
Being modular, this is a far better option. Nice find!
Please explain
Powers just a video card now days with their ridiculous requirements… 😂

OP's name doesn't check out…
I wouldn't buy a bronze psu in 2025. You burn 20-100W per hour just because you saved on it. Any Gold better.
