Windows 11 licence sounds dodgy AF:

    Pre-installed Window 11 system,but no activation
After receiving goods contacting us to send you a activation progra

you would download a fresh copy and massgravel it… I would not trust the install on the device ;)

    • Windows 11 licence sounds dodgy

And if that is, what else is?

    • activate with their code then reinstall windows and the key should just stay there.

They send you an activation program, not a key.

    Damn!
I wish this deal came along yesterday, I just paid the RRP of $846.95!

An N150 laptop hahaha, so 1 tab of Chrome open

The joke is, that chrome is memory hungry, not CPU (as such). The n150 is roughly the same as a amd 2500u or there about in synthetic benches I think - slow, but still very capable!

      • Also never had any issues running chrome snappily on one of the aliexpress N150 minipcs so 🤷.

How many nits is the screen 😁

        Take my angry upvote

  • id rather just use my iphone xs

  • 'Slow down, where's the fire?'

  • N150 with 16gb? Wtf?

    • Kinda makes sense actually. 8gb is rapidly becoming unusable for a lot of workloads, but the CPU just means waiting an extra few seconds for a workbook or something to open - absolutely still viable! A lot of workloads just aren't really cpu intensive.

Same spec as my SOYO mini PC for about $170 but this has screen and keyboard.

    • how does that perform?

      • They perform poorly as general web browsing machines, fine as homelab machines.

  • These N series Intel CPU's are really slow. I've got this CPU in a mini PC hooked up to a TV to stream and play local media. It works fine in this capacity, though loading YT videos is slow, to the point where a little notification from YT appears in the corner of the screen asking 'Experiencing Interruptions?'.

It's so slow that YT thinks there is a connection problem, but it's just the weak CPU maxing out at 100% loading the video (the video plays fine once everything is loaded).

The point of this is that web browsing is painfully slow - I really think most people would hate using this laptop even for general computing duties.

I've got an N100 running an entire NAS with a lot of docker containers and two VMs (one Win 10 and one Linux). Handles all this perfectly with great Plex transcoding

        As I said:

The point of this is that web browsing is painfully slow - I really think most people would hate using this laptop even for general computing duties.

This is a laptop, not a desktop mini PC. Nobody is going to be buying this as a homelab device.
