  • reviews aren't the best, but its cheap and battery last a while. i rather use wyze cameras imo.

  • Any alternatives that are Home Assistant friendly?

      Reolink cameras integrate well.

  • That is tempting; but id need to do some research, unless someone already has.
Can i use these without them phoning home?
It says local storage but that doesnt mean local communication…

    • Blink Subscription Plan
The purchase of Outdoor 4 includes a free 30-day trial of the Blink Subscription Plan. Save and share clips conveniently in the cloud, stream up to 90 minutes of continuous live view per session, and enable features like person detection.

      • I don't need to enable those things, Frigate does that.

  • Seems good but 1080p

    Would these be better?

    • your link is for indoor cameras. Eufy has pretty good outdoor ones too. Just not this link.

    Another Amazon-owned brand.
May have privacy concern like their Ring cameras.
It was found that Ring employees and contractors had unfettered access to customer videos without consent. Also, Amazon disclosed that it had provided Ring video footage to law enforcement without user consent, citing "emergency" situations.

    • Surely all of those customers would be able to file a class action for breach of privacy?

      • Ring customers get $5.6 million in privacy breach settlement. That' small sum is unlikely to effect a change in Amazon's corporate culture concerning privacy

  • Amazon RRP of $599 seems greatly inflated.
This is $300 regular price at Bunnings.

Anyway thanks for posting OP, apparently this can record clips to local USB storage so am interested.

I have this. The build quality is cheap, but the price is 1/3 of Eufy or Arlo. So I recommend this if you need a camera. You don’t need subscription, you can just plug a usb flash disk then you have all videos locally. The only down side is when you want to check old video, it takes time as it need to read from usb first.

    • I think the next model might be better with a higher res yer?

  • 2 year batter life? That seems amazing. How is it possible? Does it only record upon motion detection of something?
