    • Im new to PayTo, ive got it all setup on Amazon but when having it selected the price still isnt changing?

      • +2

        Need to add code PAYTO5

        • Thank-You :)

  • Great price. Bought 1. Thanks OP

Which is better, this or s8 maxv Ultra
With so many models I can't work it out
I got the s8 for $1400 but in return window

    • S8 MaxV ultra for sure, is it worth $600 more? Most likely not.

      • Not if mopping is a priority, spinning mops are much better than vibrating.

        • Would use spinning on tiles or engineered laminate. Not on natural timber with matt finish. Just my 2cents.

      • Which is better? Roller mop ( VibraRise) or spinning mops?

        • +1

Spinning mop is much better, which is why it's not a clear cut case of one unit is better than the other. I have the L and it's excellent, would highly recommend.

          • @Jebus: yes and the other factor is whether user cares about hot water mopping or not (master) if not, L is the absolute bargain

      • +6

I'm not sure how accurate this table is…the L40 Ultra CE is 13,000 Pa and not 7000.

        Is this AI generated?

        • yeah my bad seems like gpt changed some specs each time i had it generate a new summary to compare additonal models

but my conclusion remains unchanged L and Master are the two main models within roborock to consider when factoring sales pricing and core features that arent gimmicks. L40 is the third option

Roborock has too many in between models confusing people. i narrowed down the core features that matter and found the models that had it, filtered out the in between models like the MAxV which arent worth the premium then looked at sales

L to get intermediate mop suction and self refill and clean. Master to get the hot water + extra gimmicks

      • +4

        This is incorrect
Q Revo MaxV has remote monitoring and edge mopping.

        • +2

Also Qrevo L doesn't have warm air drying.

      • +4

The whole table is actually incorrect

      • Many flaws in this table.

      • I have the QRevo MaxV and it definitely can move its mop arms to get right to the edge of things.

  • -3

    Lacks flexiarm, essential feature imho.

    • -1

which ones are good that have flexiarm? Is it just a roborock feature or do all robot vacs have it these days?

      • alot of the higher models from different brands have them, definitely not an essential feature though unless you want to pay big money

  • Is it worth it longterm to spend 1.5k+ on a premium robovacuum

    • +6

Around 4 years ago I spent 1k on what I thought was a premium robovac by ecovacs, but turned out to be a piece of shit.
I would only spend that much again or even more if I was confident and had good reviews. So do proper research first

      • I'm about to get this one now as my first robo vacuum, do you reckon this is a good one? I'm afraid that it's going to be a useless buy as well to be honest

        • +2

If you are using the vac every day then just be prepared that you will need to self service them. I’ve had wheel/motor failures, LDS failures and battery replacements that have required ordering parts off of aliexpress and following ifixit guides etc.

They do a lot of mileage - my Q revo has done 70 square kilometres of cleaning now - not a typo.

    • For me I would say no, until obstacle avoidance is 100%. I find the them getting tangled up is the biggest source of wear and tear on them. If your floor is kept clear of tangles you should be fine. I've got kids, it just isn't gonna happen.

  • Now in a battle with Roborock to get my 100 bucks back when this was 899 this morning

    • Me too. They don’t refund. Just re bought it before it sells out and will return the first purchase.

      • I bought mine directly through roborock so hope they might do it.

        Pretty dodgy tactics from them.

        • I got one this morning too from Amazon.
Just purchased another one and will return the first purchase.
Can I use whichever arrives first and return the other one or should I wait for the cheaper one to arrive?
$899 arrives tomorrow and $799 arrives Friday.
Does amazon track serial numbers on return?

      • dammit. how many qrevo maxv am i gonna end up with now

    • Goodluck with that, my roborock sticker/logo came off my S8 Pro and they want $32 for a replacement piece and it was 8 months old

  • +2

How does this compare to the Dreame L40 Ultra CE for $100 more?

Looking to replace my S5Max - there's so many on the market now even with a spreadsheet it's a bit overwhelming

    • Dreame L40 Ultra CE better value

    • -1

I found perplexity a good help with this kinda problem.

    • where are u finding it for 899

at 899 its a steal because its basically a qrevo master for qrevo L price

otherwise 1399 qrevo master is the bargain if u want hot mop and air dry

the only downside to the L is the lack of hot water and air. if thats a priority. otherwise its a great value model saving $400 to omit the hot water and air

the dream l40 if it has the hot water and air for around L pricing, would be the ultimate value but ive only seen it over the master or around the Master's price

      • Scroll down a little further on this post - link is posted down there.

Think it's back to $2100 now though

  • Can anyone give some feedback on Eureka J15 ultra which is currently on sale at $999 before the 5% discount?

  • +1

dreame l10s ultra heat is better in many aspects for same price

    • Where is that one?

        • +3

And now we work out how it's better :) Better cleaning vs better mop essentially.

          • +1

@Clear: My reading on the older QRevo vs L10s Ultra showed people leaning towards Roborock.
The fact that this is then the newer model of those would lean me on Roborock over Dreame even further.

            • @JPNx: This is HEAT version which cleans mop in hot water, not available for this models of Roborock

              • @radissimo: Also went the dreame

                • @phoeb: i'm thinking to get the dreame one but it seems like it has less suction power and some people complaints that it stopped working after 2 years? (in amazon).

I'm confused now as this is my first robo vacuum. also i think since roborock has been around longer in the robot vacuum area they should have better app and reliability i suppose?

                  • @robertwt7: I actually bought it for my mum. I own a dreame x50 and previously had a roborock s5 max. No issues with tge dreame app beyond some dodgy translations.

I wouldnt worry too much about the suction numbers the brushes and overall design have just as much of an impact. The x50 is 20000 but I dont notice ot being any stronger at vacuuming than my s5 max.

I don't think you can go wrong eother way. I went with the dreame due to its hot water mop cleaning and hot air drying. Based on reviews suspect it will be slightly more hands off! Check out a few YouTube videos for each. "Just a dad" has good ones for the dreames.

Reliability is hard to say both brands have failures.

    • +2

Wrong model. This is the Qrevo L and that's the much older Qrevo.

        • +3

Yep your link has no relevance at all. Unless you can link a $799 Ecovacs X9 Pro Omni and then that'll be an awesome deal.

        • +2

          R u lost mate lol

        • +7

Imagine being a simp to a vacuum reviewer

  • How does this compare to Ecovacs Deebot T30 Omni? It's the same price.

    • +3

Beware of Ecovacs. The software is terrible and my old one always lost the map boundaries, etc. Google search

      • I have a T9+ which is going on four years old now. I've seen this pop often about lost map boundaries but never experienced it myself. Android vs Apple potentially? (I'm on a Samsung S24)

        • Interesting bobby, at least that means everyone doesn't get it. This was set up on Apple. But it also happens after it is setup and when you aren't even using the app anymore

  • I think the l40 ultra for $899 might be a better purchase but obviously it's slightly pricier.
Omg it sold out for the $899 that's a darn shame I was contemplating for too long as well.. lol snooze and lose..

    • +1

      dreame L40 Ultra CE??
      https://amzn.asia/d/4tQthf5

      • Yeah thats the one. It went back up to $2199 when I checked before.

      • +1

Damn, thought it was the normal, not the CE version. (single roller, poor camera)

        • From what I've read it's almost the same performance as the l40s. But your points are valid for those concerned. Still think it's the better of the sub $1k robots. I've seen mixed messages whether this also has heated mops.

          • +1

@maverickjohn: I asked Dreame AU, they said the L40 Ultra CE is cold wash but heated drying. Not really a dealbreaker imo

    • It's back at $899. Just I bought it aaaaand now am going to have to return the L10s that I bought this morning when the price of the L40 went back up….

      • If we use Amazon Business Account, add it to cart, then price further drops to $817.27 for L40 Ultra CE

        screenshot

  • +3

Just got one. Was tossing up between this and the Dreame L40 Ultra CE and Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat. Decided to go with this one, seems most people rate the Roborock app and reliability.

First ever robot vacuum so here’s hoping it wasn’t a costly mistake!

    • +1

amazon will take it back anyways whenever if you don't want it anymore

      • Oh really? Is there a good “change of mind” policy? I’ve not really used it.

  • +1

even cheaper and yet better than Qrevo S which was clearence some weeks ago, I falled in the bait, not happy.

  • aaaaaaaand its gone

    • +1

      Aaaaaand it is back!

      • Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it's gone again

        • Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it is back again!

          • @Pidgeon: Dreame L40-ce back again
Bought it and already have buyer's remorse and think I should have bought the roborock qrevo master instead…

            • @MrBillions: Why is that?

            • +1

@MrBillions: Because roborock the brand and best app in the business (my perception).
Also roborock integrates with home assistant.

  • +2

Absolute bargain. I paid A$1100 a couple months ago and would do so again, love my Qrevo L. Feel free to ask any questions if you're on the fence.

    • Is your household filled with kids clutter/lego/toys, etc? How do you manage that? Let's say you schedule it to run a few days a week, do you just tidy the clutter and let it ride? And if you forget, just how good is the obstacle avoidance? How does it go avoiding chair and table legs when cleaning under where kids have dropped crumbs, etc?

And just generally, how much would you say it has reduced your need to intentionally/regularly manually mopping or vacuuming around the house?

      • +5

I have a 1 and 4 year old so my house is certainly filled with random toys, socks, lego, clutter thrown around. I don't set it on a schedule, I work from home so I'll manually tidy the place as much as I can in about 5 minutes (including just throwing some things on the couch, or moving some dining chairs), and then set it to run through the routine.

Object avoidance is excellent, it gets really close to any obstacle and will circle around it. It has had trouble with tiny socks a couple of times where it tries to suck them up, so you need to make sure anything like that is put away.

Cleaning around chairs is again excellent, gets very close and picks up / mops all the bits. It doesn't just circle around a leg either, it will repeatedly inch forward and rotate to get the mops as close as possible.

Mopping is a game changer for us, we have mostly wooden floor boards, and we were slack with proper mopping. This also gets under things you wouldn't normally go to the effort of vacuuming/mopping regularly (e.g. under cot, beds, tv unit, couch).

        • +1

This is all super helpful, thank you - I love the concept but have always been INCREDIBLY skeptical that they would actually do enough to justify the spend, but admittedly that is an opinion based on models from likely a decade ago. Similar home profile to mine, especially the mopping on floors (combo of tile and floating for me), which is a huge potential plus.

          • +1

@wazman67: I find cords are the worst. Especially charging cables. Anything taller than about 40mm I am happy to leave on the floor, anything lower or scrunchie (like clothes) I'll pick up.
Mine is an old ecovacs T10+ has been very reliable considering the amount of use it has had. But as others have said the software/mapping can be extremely frustrating. I would definitely go roborock next.

            • @Schniz2: Great context thank you - I am anticipating random Lego, puzzle pieces and small socks to be my biggest issues!!

  • How does this compare to Ecovacs T30 omni ? Both are priced same at the moment and I am struggling to decide one or the other. I currently have Ecovacs T20e omni and its a bit hit/miss with cleaning so thinking of switching.

    • +1

Get roborock. I thought I could out up with slightly worse mapping software and saved a few hundred by buying an ecovacs (T10+ vs S7 a few years ago). I have been close to stomping the thing to death with frustration on a few occasions.
