great price, I can vouch for it, it saved my life when I got two puppies while living in an apartment. This one is quite powerful, much much better than the cheaper version going for $165

I am tempted by the steam version which is down to $359

i upgraded to the steam version. one of the benefits is the heads are easier to clean as can separate the clear plastic part. whereas the one listed dog hair can get stuck in the head and hard to get out sometimes.

    • Steam verison would be definitely an upgrade, as it would sanitise the carpet too and help avoiding bad smells if you over-soak it

  • Need one to clean up sketch pen marks from the carpet, this or the turbo?

    • +1

I think this is an improved version of it, i.e. extra suction power. I dont think suction power will make a difference for pen marks to be honest, so probably it's an overkill

The version in this post is a much older model than the new Turbo so hard to say if an older model is “improved” even though the wattage is higher

        • I meant, the new one is the improved version… probably worded it wrong

          • @liongalahad: Right. In that case, the new one actually has less power

            • @Gonltruck: Yeah in the website they claim it has higher suction even though it consumes much less power

    • I just bought the new turbo model for $266 from the good guys commercial.

  • I have this model and it's great. Suction power helps with drying and cleaning especially if you have thick carpet. Also good for spills on mattresses and cushions where liquids can easily soak in.

  • Can anyone recommend a unit for cleaning large areas or a whole home, and has good spot cleaning?

    • Bissell Proheat 2X Revolution Max Professional Carpet Cleaner which has a spot cleaner attachment mode as well.

Most consumer machine aren't the best for large homes but this is probably one of the better one . You can rent a more professional machine from Bunnings .

What cleaning solution do people use with these - presumably not the expensive Bissell ones?

  • Is loud. Buy earmuffs.

  • Overpriced with very extremely average suction.

Don't take my word for it, Go to a store, plug one in and put your hand over the house.

Much better off getting wet dry shop vac from Bunnings and a wide extractor nozzle from eBay Amazon.

    1. Much cheaper
    2. Way more power
    3. More functional /multipurpose.

Not having a go at you OP or will Neg deal. Thanks for sharing.. i just found it to be very disappointing product.

    • Which wet dry shop vac do you recommend? Assuming it's just for cleaning sofas and stains like this, and of similar size for storage purposes.

      • Mate even the cheap Aldi version will out perform this thing in suction power. I was able to compare the two because I have both and after using the Bissell to try and extract all the water the Shop-Vac was an absolute champ and continued to remove way more cleaning agent.

Technically it's up to you. You could even go with cheap Bunnings vac or put down 100. Maybe $200 with something that has some real gusto. Hope that helps

        • I've heard extraction power matters much more. What do you use the agitate the stains/clean initially ie before extraction? Brush with a particular detergent?

          • +1

@y2k: Yes it does, it reduces drying time significantly and you want to do that to avoid mold and other nasties taking old in material.

I use a standard brush and I've also got a set of drill brush adaptors that I use to agitate the area needing to be cleaned.

            • @vash5: Do you mind sharing a link to the drill brush adaptors?
