Honestly I don't have it, I have CalDigit TS4, and it is excellent!. This is supposed to be even better! Product page says "not one, but two built-in Thunderbolt 4 chips" :) Do your own research, lol

And there is always Apple's version of CalDigit TS4, $499, trying very hard to disguise itself as not TS4 :))

  • Jesus….
almost had everything for the next 5 years except (This dock is not compatible with any windows laptop)

    • Jesus warns you, avoid Windows :)

  • $500 and no hdmi 2.1?

    • +1

That's a Thunderbolt 4 limitation. It caps out at 40GB/s whereas true HDMI 2.1 is 48GB/s.

      • +1

this iVanky claims to have two TB4 chips, using two TB4 cables to host Mac, getting 80 GB/s in theory. Just thinking aloud.

        • +1

Great point. But splitting HDMI 2.1 over two TB4 connections it's not supported out of the box, there would be lots of timing issues with that.

I put CNN asked this and the TS4.
    Returned the TS4.
Currently run 4x 5K Apple displays with no issues.
One thing to be aware of is you will be limited by the number of displays the processor will run. Not all M processors will run 4x monitors.

    • CNN? And can you have any of displays at 120Hz? My TS4 drives one 4K at 120Hz (using DSC, monitor limitation) and I think it can drive another one at 120Hz too.

      • Sorry - typo. First line should have read:
I bought this and the TS4.

Re 120Hz, my Apple studio displays are only 60Hz I believe so I’m not sure.

        • +2

          hell of a typo, lol
Yeah, 120 Hz is kind of essential feature for me, I see difference with 60 Hz.

@nuker: To be fair I was on a treadmill at the time 🤣

  • This is more than a lot of mini pcs…

  • So expensive for TB4. This price should be for TB5
