      • Round 2 of posting comment because OZB site messed up when I hit post

        I ordered the MSI 320R

        • Small dent top rear of case
        • Back sliding door for vertical GPU mount damaged and doesn't align like the other PC
        • 1x side panel screw plastic disentegrated the moment I attempted to remove it (Makes me think a lot of force was used to try screw it originally)
        • Side panel brackets dented
        • So, you guess the damage didn't occur during the delivery. Was the box in a perfect condition?
Your experience makes me worry about the online pc purchase.

            • @Spellbound: More to the saga:
Failing to post with VGA code on MOBO

Very evident sag on the GPU
Unable to stay seated properly due to the rear bracket being bent

Have not tested the machine without evident blemishes. Will be trying that shortly.

              • @Spellbound: Have you managed to get a response from Techfast?

                • @rocket-tear: I received a couple replies before the close of business but awaiting further correspondence today.

It ended at the close of business with asking me to attempt to boot the machine as they will want me to go through some troubleshooting steps.

The machine just needs to go back and be re-built in a case that isn't damaged, no troubleshooting is fixing this. But I'm sure the support team have a protocol to follow before jumping to this step.

The second machine booted in to linux mint on the first attempt so I assume the build on that is fine. Though have not gone further than testing POST status on that one either.

                  • @Spellbound: Update:
No response as of 1:15pm AEST.

The response time for support queries appears to be very slow.

Have also reached out to Luke on here to assist with the process if possible.

          • @rocket-tear: Upon reflection I think the damage was during the shipping process. The way the MSI 320R ships is with the rear I/O on the bottom of the box and the GPU mounting bracket would sit very close to the bottom as it sticks out. If the package was somehow tossed around or dropped during the shipping process this could easily have caused the damage from the inertia alone, let alone the actual impact.

After leaving a reply on the latest deal that was posted today, support was promptly assisting me with the RMA process.

            • @Spellbound: Thanks for the update. So, the damage was from the shipping and Techfast agreed to fix/replace it? They will cover all the shipping cost. right? I wish it doesn't take another 2~4 weeks to get the replacement.

              • +1

@rocket-tear: I wholeheartedly believe the damage was during the shipping process.

TechFast is taking the machine back and will ship a new machine.
In the email I received they stated it will be their utmost priority to re-ship me a working unit.

                Shipping is covered by TechFast.

                • @Spellbound: pls keep us posted on the updates

                  • @Techefy: Sure!

The only update I have right now is that the machine is on the way back to TechFast.
They'll likely receive it on Monday, worst case Tuesday.

                  • @Techefy: Update:
                    PC received by TechFast today
It's been looked at and they confirmed the damage.

New machine is entering build phase and they'll keep me updated.

                    • @Spellbound: Nice, my machine is on the way!

                    • @Spellbound: Hi Spellbound,

Have you received the replacement? I wish you don't need to wait 10~15 business days for it.

                      Regards,

                      • @rocket-tear: Hi Rocket,

Thank you for thinking of me
I received the replacement machine on the 8th
Unfortunately Aus Post brutes got to my package again and somehow managed to allow what I would assume to be a metal object to pierce the box and leave a small cosmetic blemish on the side panel (Rear side of motherboard)

I attempted to reach out to TF about this however it became too much effort for a small blemish.
I took photos of how the box was received and a picture of the blemish but was then requested video footage so I never went further with it as by that time it was already set up.

I was just happy to receive a working machine; though a little annoyed that I couldn't progress and receive a resolution with the clear images I took of the damage.

                        • @Spellbound: Thanks for sharing your experience. So, Techfast was quick to resolve the issue but it looks like buyers will need to inspect the packaging carefully and take photos and videos when opening the box. 2 out of 3 machines you got delivered had some degree of issues.

    • Hey, what gpu did you get in your machines?

    • I showed a friend who knows a lot more about pcs and thermal. He said that the cooler is angled and not on properly. He said coulda happend during shipping. But again that’s just one opinion. Would love to hear if my temps are normal. And if it matters if the cooler being on tilted/on an angle makes a difference

      • use google and AI, keep us posted

      • Here's what GPT5 said:

Short answer: those CPU temps aren’t normal for a properly mounted DeepCool AG400 in typical gaming, and the visible tilt strongly points to poor contact/mounting pressure—reseating with fresh paste is the right next step or contacting support to remount under warranty.[1][2][3][4]

        What temps to expect
        • For a desktop with a single‑tower air cooler, idle is usually around 30–50°C and gaming about 60–85°C; consistently hitting 85–90°C in light to moderate loads suggests a cooling issue rather than normal behavior.[3]
        • While some modern CPUs can operate safely near their thermal limits (e.g., AMD Ryzen 7000’s 95°C TjMax and many Intel parts up to ~100°C), reaching those temps under relatively low utilization in games is still a red flag for mounting or airflow.[5][6][3]
        • The AG400 is capable for its class—bench testing shows it can handle hefty loads for the price—so a midrange gaming workload spiking into the 90s typically indicates a setup problem, not an inherent limitation of the cooler.[7][1]
        Why the tilt matters
        • A cooler that’s angled or unevenly tightened can leave micro‑gaps, reduce contact pressure, and dramatically raise temperatures even at low CPU utilization.[2]
        • Uneven pressure and misalignment also make screws fight the bracket, worsening contact and thermals until the mount is redone correctly.[4]
        Quick checks before reseat
        • Verify fan orientation and case airflow: front/side as intake, rear/top as exhaust, and ensure the cooler’s fan pushes air toward the rear exhaust.[8][9]
        • Make sure any protective film on the heatsink base or thermal pads was removed; leaving it on can cause immediate overheating and rapid throttling.[10][11]
        • Set a sensible fan curve if it’s too conservative—the AG400 often benefits from a tuned curve to avoid heat soak during gaming.[1]
        How to reseat correctly
        • Clean off old paste from the CPU and heatsink base with isopropyl alcohol and a lint‑free cloth before reapplying.[12]
        • Apply fresh thermal paste per vendor guidance: a single 3–4 mm dot in the center (Noctua method) is sufficient for AM5/LGA1200/1700‑class CPUs.[13][12]
        • Mount the AG400 evenly with a diagonal/cross pattern, tightening gradually to ensure uniform pressure across the IHS without overtightening.[2][4]
        • Reconfirm fan direction and case flow after mounting, then retest idle and gaming temps; aim for idle ~30–50°C and gaming ~60–85°C.[3][8]
        If temps are still high
        • Recheck for bracket/backplate fitment or standoff issues that can prevent full contact, and address any misalignment that persists.[4][2]
        • If reseating doesn’t normalize temperatures, escalate to the builder for a warranty remount or inspection, since a cooler that can handle heavy loads should not run in the 90s during light gaming when mounted correctly.[7][1]
        Bottom line
        • A visibly tilted mount and 85–90°C in games with modest CPU utilization are classic signs of poor contact, not “normal” behavior for an AG400, so a careful reseat with fresh paste and proper pressure is warranted—or request a warranty remount from support.[1][2][3][4]

  • Just adding the deleted comment here: My pc did seem to arrive in physically good condition. However I noticed immediately that the CPU cooler (Deep cool AG400) seemed to be slightly tilted. I am noticing that I am getting 85+ degrees temperature on my CPU with like 30 percent utilisation on f124. Im getting above 85 degrees while playing Valorant. On AC mirage, even in the menus im getting 85+ degrees on CPU temp. In game, its going 90+ Do you guys think there is an issue with the cooling? or is that how its supposed to be? @luketechfast

My idle cpu tempreature is 55 degrees which seems high for a new pc

I even added more case fans. My gpu is cool as a cucumber.

I read that if the cpu cooler is slighlty tilted that can effect temps and that i can try unmount and remount with thermal paste and that should fix it. But just wanted to get an idea before i did anything or contacted the support team. I am not even sure if those temps are even normal considering the cpu and cooler.

    • That is definitely a bit higher than I'd expect. CPU's require firm and even mounting pressure from the heatsink to operate effectively.
With the way the AG400 mounts I don't think there's anything anyone can do wrong during the building process. There's always a chance it could be warped from factory.

The machine that I received in working condition saw a maximum of 83.8C at 90W total package power during the Ryzen Master per-core auto undervolting test.

After per-core undervolting was applied I stressed the CPU with OCCT and at the same 90W total package power saw a maximum of 72.5C after ~5mins.

Edit: The machine I have is in the MSI 320R Airflow case.
Edit2: Just loaded up Grounded 2 and even with the -30 per core undervolt it reached 83C in game in some scenes so very possible to see above 90 with stock voltage.

      • Providing a general update, I unmounted the case, it turns out the cpu cooler itself is just crooked. Its like tilting quite moderately to one side. There is nothing wrong with the installation, i think it either got damaged during shipping in a fall etc, or just how the cooler was made unfortunately. My CPU temperatures as I am typing this is 58 degrees. I have nothing but chrome and 1 window open. I read online that if the CPU cooler is tilted and as a result If the heatsink isn’t sitting perfectly flat on the CPU, itll cause thermal issues which I think is the case.

I think Ill send a photo to the people at Techfast to see if they can send a replacement cooler, otherwise ill have to ship the entire pc back or buy a new cooler myself. Not the worst case scenario considering you can get decent CPU cooler for 50 dollars. Ideally Id rather just have them ship me a new AG400 cooler with the photo evidence

I have the same case as you MSI MAG 320r and added additional exhaust fans. My GPU runs SUPER cool, so i dont think its a case or general airflow issue at all. The pc is louder than my old pc, but the performance and the components of everything apart from CPU is pretty good.

on a side note, how loud does your pc get and what are your idle temps

Tbh apart from the cpu temps, everything else in the PC works beautifully, and I dont think techfast had anything to do with the cpu cooler, i think it came bad from the factory with how its bent. The installation looked fine and the mounts seemed level and done correctly. I just hope they can ship me out another cooler without having to send the whole pc back

        • What temperatures do you see if you run Cinebench R23 (10min test) or OCCT?

I'm switching from a gaming laptop so it's quiet compared to the jet engines I became accustomed to!

          • @Spellbound: I have not tried that yet, but i just opened AC oddysey to run the ingame bench mark in that, it’s at 98 degrees. In like 30 seconds into the benchmark. I had to close the benchmark because I was scared it was getting too hot. Definitely seems to be some issue with the CPU cooling.

I will try what you’ve mentioned next. Never used that benchmark before, never needed to haha. My old pc gave me 0 issues for 6 years lol.

Will probably take photos of the temps in game and the actual cooler and send an email to the support team. See what the options are from techfast.

My other pc with like a modest cpu cooling system is like 35 idle and like 75 max when i played games. the difference is crazy.

            • @VAI1001: As long as the copper plate has proper contact with good thermal paste the tilting could just be cosmetic.

If you removed your CPU cooler make sure you've repasted it before re-seating it.
If you're repasting I suggest thermal grizzly kryonaut

Though I suggest not doing any modifications and leaving it how TechFast shipped it if you intend on contacting them.

Things I did to reduce CPU heat so far:
Per-core offsets applied using Ryzen Master (Automatic detection)
              Disabled iGPU in BIOS

AMD does seem to have high idle power on the package in their desktop line-up even while core power is down which does mean a bit higher temps while idle.

              • @Spellbound: Hey, so it turned out it was the cooler, I went to a technican, and he said your cooler is probably causing it and he sold me the thermal alright Pearless Assasin for 55 bucks. My temps are a preety amazing now haha. Im 40 idle and like 55 degrees in AC mirage benchmark that's a difference of like 30 degrees. Crazy! 100 percent faulty cooler

I did apply the thermal grizzly kryonaut! Another friend also recommended it.

I think it should be okay now, but ill reach out to techfast and see if they can compensate me in some way, especially if i send the tilted/faulty cooler back.

                • @VAI1001: Those temperatures are great!

I have some case fans arriving today, I am going to try adding an exhaust at the top rear of the case.

Though I also have my eye on either an AG620 or Peerless Assassin as well. Hearing your temperatures is making me want to pull the trigger!

I'm hoping TF is super speedy on RMA's and I get to actually tinker with my own machine soon (They should be getting my DOA machine back either today or tomorrow)

Did you have to offset the front CPU cooler fan due to the RAM height?
