  • Thanks OP grabbed one and will replace my old portable monitor with OLED. Hopefully works well with Legion Go and Switch 2

  • Unavailable?

    Are there any qhd versions?

  • I whacked one of these in my Vpin as the Full DMD. The screen pops and looks awesome.

  • I bought ZSUS from last month deal, but I couldn't handle the glare. Unusable outdoor, and indoor it will reflect everything behind me. Can only be used in a completely dark room with limited light source.

Will this OLED screen better than that ZSUS?

    • +3

It's not about IPS vs OLED, it's about the screen surface finish. You're probably better off adding a matte screen protector to your ZSUS.

      • Thanks, cheers

      • ZSUS is already quite matte, 400cm/d is not quite usable enough in bright conditions

  • Getting an error "Sorry, some items are not available. Please edit your order."

  • Getting error too - cannot ship to Australia?

That's gone. How about this 17.3" AHXJKA one for $137+GST after "benefits", @clear?

    • +1

      Interested to know too @Clear

Doesn't look too bad. Store being a generic name is questionable but could be legit.

      • Yeah, 87% +ve reviews doesn't inspire a whole lot of confidence…

OTOH, $190+GST–CB after "benefits" for a Bimawen OLED touch is… an option?

        • Yep seems like a good option. VCHANCE is another brand with identical OLED monitors as Bimawen. Seems Bimawen comes out on top with lower prices.

          • @Clear: I'm looking to use it primarily for watching media connecting it to a Fire TV stick; what do you reckon? Thought I'd ask your opinion before pulling the trigger.

I know you're not a fan of OLED's price premium, but after having owned a Lenovo Tab (actually still owned it, gave it to the kid), the light bleed over black and dark really took out much of the experience, especially when watching in the dark (which is mostly the only way I do it), and especially when watching sci-fi, with lots of those dark, deep space scenes. To the point that I often preferred watching on my phone bc it's OLED.

@wisdomtooth: Hard to beat OLED. I think it would be perfectly fine if you're happy with 13.3. I still use my Lenovo OLED for videos and agree it's so much better.

              • @Clear: So it's gonna work with a Fire TV stick? I'm hoping this is an actually better deal than buying a tablet, since it's not programmed to become obsolete like android/iOS devices are with their update expiries.

I know the portable monitor is not chargeable, and needs to stay connected to a power source, or to a powerbank at the very least, but that doesn't faze me bc I mostly only used the tablet at home anyway, either sitting or lying close enough to a power point.

    Hi
I am looking for big size screen . Any options ?

  • How does the touch screen works? I got SFZ one it acts like a mouse to the Laptop. The touch function is NOT to the portable monitor.

Is it the case for this monitor?

    • Did you order one with a touchscreen? This one doesn't have it. You need a USB C cable going from the monitor to the computer for data and that'll make the touch work.

      • I have two different brand and they both act as an input device to the laptop screen. NOT on the portable monitor.

        • @Jacku Surely the touch just goes to Display #1 - you can absolutely have it go to the portable monitor if you make that one your Main display in the Windows Display Settings

  • I just paid $137 – $27 (14% CR cb) delivered for this.

    • Can you share the link? Showing $173 to me

        • I just unboxed it, and highly suspect it's not truly OLED. It's got an OLED sticker on it, but the screen permanently glows when turned on. I've got an OLED phone (Xiaomi POCO m5s), the contrast between the two (ba dum tish!) is stark. Besides, I couldn't get into the brightness menu (which comes set at maximum). The unbranded box largely marked "IPS MONITOR" was sort of a giveaway. Amirite?

          • @wisdomtooth: Perplexity reckons I'm right.

Yes—there are other people who have publicly raised suspicions that the Bimawen 13.3" portable "OLED" display sold on AliExpress may not be a true OLED panel.

            Reports of Suspicion

            • On Reddit’s r/OLED_Gaming and r/Monitors, users have discussed this exact Bimawen model (and other “budget OLED” monitors from AliExpress). Several people pointed out that the claimed specs don’t line up with typical OLED panels, especially:
              • The mention of HDR400 certification, which is an LCD standard (true OLEDs generally claim HDR10 or HDR500+ with per-pixel dimming instead of HDR400).
              • Brightness levels higher than typical small OLED panels (which usually peak lower than claimed).
              • Possible use of IPS or BOE QLED-like LCD panels marketed misleadingly as “OLED.”
            • On NotebookReview forums and TechPowerUp, a few users claimed these panels are likely ordinary IPS or VA laptops displays repackaged since the advertised contrast ratio, pixel structure, and uniformity don’t match OLED behavior (for example, visible backlight bleed was reported, which OLED cannot have).
            • In YouTube reviews of Bimawen and similar Chinese portable monitors (particularly from smaller reviewers rather than big tech channels), at least two reviewers showed that the displays exhibited white glow at an angle (common with IPS)—something impossible with genuine OLED.

Smoking Gun Clues in the Listing

            • The product text keeps repeating “OLED” but inconsistently (sometimes “OELD”), which is a red flag for keyword stuffing.
            • It advertises “exhibit minimal to no light leakage” — real OLED has zero backlight light leakage, so the phrasing suggests it’s not a true emissive panel.
            • HDR rating of HDR400 strongly implies edge-lit or local-dimming LCD, not OLED.
            • No panel manufacturer (like Samsung, LG, or JOLED) is named, which is unusual when advertising genuine OLED.

            Community Consensus
What I found is that in enthusiast communities (like Reddit and display forums), the consensus is that these Bimawen-branded 13.3” “OLED” portable monitors are almost certainly mislabeled LCDs. Genuine OLED portable monitors do exist, but they are usually 1080p 13.3" panels sourced from JOLED or Samsung and cost much more than the ~$200–$300 range that Bimawen lists them for.
