                • @brifog: 9:30am first email confirmation
                  11:30pm provisioning email
                  11:57pm cutover confirmation

I assume it largely has to do with them getting Ozbargain'd, but also, I needed to supply them my AVC ID. On the order page, it says it's OPTIONAL to provide an AVC ID. But they didn't tell me until around 6pm that they couldn't turn on my service because they needed me to supply them my AVC ID. So if you don't want hiccups, provide them your AVC ID for whatever reason.

Why say it's optional when they needed it?

                  • +1

@BatmanBeer: Yeah, sounds like they need to update their form page, as it is required when transferring. It's why ISPs must include the AVCID on current NBN bills these days.
If it is a new connection, then not required as they can check via NBNCo DB.

Was looking to change provider soon anyway, so guess I'll also jump in and take the gamble.

Commenting here so I can come back in 1 to 6 month to either express shock at how decent it turned out to be, or express shock at how stupid I was to take the gamble with a provider I've never heard of before.

    • I'd probably wait a few of days if not rushed, to give them a chance to catch up with all the current OZb transfers.
OR, submit an application but have it set for a few days out, that way you get the deal (in case they expire the offer, due to the onslaught of apps) :-)

      • Yes, I've already applied for the offer, with a schedule start on 1/09/2025.

Gives me about a week of leeway to manually disconnect from my old ISP (before my next billing date) if my service with them doesn't end automatically.

Moving out for a 6 month lease, this is perfect! Even if it's shit ahah.

  • +1

Provisioned on 1000/50 at no extra cost. Migrated to 500/50 from 15/09.

So you get 1000 for the next two weeks?

    • +1

Looks like it. Then a free speed downgrade. They're doing this to get customers like Exetel did with the 500/50 plan, except I'd rather go Exetel than these lot as a known brand (Exetel).

    • Very weird

    • +4

That is correct! Enjoy it for the next two weeks!

      • How much money are you losing per connection?

  • +1

Perth based, would it work well?

    • It's a Sydney based company. I would guess no.

      • From Mars here, latency to the Perth server is about 140ms - do recommend.

        • +6

You're lucky, my lag from Mars varies from 3 to 4 minutes (240,000ms) to a maximum of around 20 to 22 minutes (1,200,000ms)….

        • +1

          average ranked team mates

    • Only will matter if you’re gaming, everything else needs bandwidth not low ping.

  • +1

    6 x $30 = $180 saving, tempting.

  • With prices like this will it be like 2018 all over again?

  • -3

You could always "Arc" up at Arctel if they're no good ;-)

  • +3

Just signed up. Moving from Spintel 250/50Mbps, save me $32 a month.

    • Dodo $62 p/m plus $100 cashback works out better. Perhaps in 6 month ill give these guys a go if they still cheap

      • How do you get the $100 cashback?

        • Via this expired deal. It may be on hold and return?

  • +1

    Supercheap!

  • +1

    Good for 6 months

  • From the CIS

Service terminated within 12 months of activation $179

    • +2

That's only if you take the free modem on signup.

      • Ah yes I see now friend

        • +7

I was going to try to be their friend too, but alas.

          • +6

            @Daabido: Shamed into deactivation

  • -4

They advertise "Round the clock support" so expect third world customer service.

    • +2

Hi, we do operate a call centre offshore & are looking to utilise that to provide 24x7 support, which is not available currently in market for residential plans (at our price point), this is not an excuse for bad support though, so we are looking forward to your feedback.

      • Let's hope you can get it right, nobody else running o/s call centres seems to be able to.

  • Hmmm, they are unable to process my UP bank debit card. UP says its not their end, as they cant see the failed payments on their system.

    • Tried creating a digital Up card and using that?

  • Amazing price! Does anyone know if I can just port from Tangerine or do I have to give them notice or something?

    • I don’t have NBN at my place, but from what I remember up to 4 lines can be provisioned on FTTP so signing up to one won’t cancel the other.

So yes, my understanding is you’ll need to cancel your old contract.

      • I believe there is a maximum provisioned speed for the NTD so if you're already on 1000 with another provider, you can't put this on another port. Do let me know if I am wrong

  • +4

my 100/20 speed is getting a boost in Sept to 500/50… makes you wonder how long the ISPs /NBN have been holding us back on speeds for.

  • +1

Wonder if it's worth keeping existing and just testing on port 2 for the day. See if they can get it sorted within a few hours… hmmmmmm

    • +1

      Give us a go!

      • I was thinking of doing the same on an open port, but they state "Following the Minimum Term, you may cancel the Service at any time on
30 days’ notice." so based on that, (Minimum term being 1 month) you'd be stuck for 2 months worth of fees right?

        • I want to know this as well.
I think I'm stuck with Superloop because of this.

      • I ended up hitting go, just waiting on confirmation of the connection @ARCTEL. FTTP so hoping it lands pretty soon. That was at 9:30 this morning so assuming another hour or so

      • You could always offer free trials.

      • Are the NBN contractors allowed to get on the roof to run cable?

  • +1

    Sharp pricing

  • They are losing around $10 a month according to the NBN wholesale price?

    • +3

Put it in the advertising budget

  • +1

f someone connects, I'd love to know what ASN they use. Find out your IP and plug it into here: https://tools.iplocation.net/ip-to-asn
It'll return the ASN result, which can then be looked up to determine their peering.

They don't appear to have their own BGP (that I can find) so it'll likely directly return who their upstream provider is, likely Vocus or something cheap.

    • +1

Hi, our primary peering AS 136204, we are operating & delivering services over our own L2 network, however do use Vocus / SL for peering & aggregation in certain locations.

    • +1

      The rep already replied:

for NBN aggregation we are primarily using the SL network, combined with Vocus & Telstra
International peering is via Hurricane / Vocus & Superloop

Are these any good? I don't have a clue, but I travel overseas and don't want to encounter any issues when accessing my security cameras (reolink) etc. Also during online purchases etc, I don't want to go through heaps of verifications etc.

Currently on Superloop and they've been great, but want to move on due to price.

      • Vocus is good to NA, one of the lowest ping cables (forget the name of it but it’s basically the best Sydney to LA), they have a lot of their own international network

Superloop is decent peering locally and usually goes via third parties for international

They also peer with some common data centres as well, but primarily Vocus and Superloop I assume would be used for most traffic

        https://bgp.he.net/AS136204#_peers

Direct peering with Micron21 is cool, lots of cheap VPS offerings available there

  • Welp, No decent Opticomm deals around :/

  • +3

Thanks for all the support, looking forward to the feedback once everyone is setup! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our support team or drop through a DM!

    • +1

Are you really waiting to check for modem delivery, or is it just a default Order Confirmation Email template? I didn't select modem and it's saying "We will email your tracking details as soon as your modem is on its way.You can also track the delivery through our portal… Once we receive notification from our courier that your modem has been delivered…".

What portal is it referring to?

      • +1

thanks @BatmanBeer to try this out for the community.
that's not really promising start though…

      • +2

The workflow assumes a modem delivery (the general bundles are all modem included) - this is the first step in the provisioning process, but will automatically pass through, as there is no modem's included in these orders. Definitely something to address with the developers for this plan, thanks !

        • Thanks. I'll wait for additional updates. I've requested immediate connection.

  • +2

@ARCTEL thanks for bring the deal, where are your POP?

    • Hi Jason, we have POP's all over the eastern sea-board & in Perth / SA. We are in the process of distributing NBN workloads within the terminating state, however at present all services are terminated in Sydney / Melbourne (closest path). This will be completed in the next 30 days.

      • +2

"So just to confirm, you only have one Point of Presence (POP) in Sydney, and no other POPs in other states yet?
so bad for gaming if I'm not in Sydney.

        and is there ipv6

  • @ARCTEL: Can i specify my connection date? Currently with Optus, next billing date is 25-09 (so i’m at the start of a month). Would be looking to connect close to this date.

Alternatively how long will this offer be running?

    • +1

When signing up they let you specify connection date. I went 30 days from now. Charged $50 on sign up but that will be credited for when your service starts.

"This invoice includes charges for one full month from the order date. Any days where your service has not yet been activated will be credited on your next monthly invoice."

      • +1

Correct, currently we are allowing orders up to 30 days in advance to give everyone the chance to get in on the promotion!

        • @ARCTEL For some reason the sign-up page only allows sign-ups up to 7 days in advance. Am I missing something?

  • +1

@ARCTEL can we request to disable CGNAT?
Also, is it possible to choose an activation date next month?

  • Im in, just ordered. Will report back. South Australian customer currently with More.

  • +1

Can we opt out of CGNAT and obtain public IP?

And is there static IP options?

    • Hi, we do not have a static IP option today… but this will be enabled in the coming 30 days !

      • +2

What about their other query, can you opt out of CGNAT,

      • +3

I still need to know about the CGNAT. Because I run a server and security system that requires public IP or CGNAT disabled.

  • Just signed up, how long does activation take and do I need to cancel my old connection with Superloop?

    • +1

I just cancelled my Superloop (it takes 30 days) - have been with them for a couple of years, but need to get onto the churning bandwagon!!

      • Did you call them? Can't find an option in the app.
My monthly fee is 109 so it's a bit of a waste to switch now if delaying is possible.

    • Also interested in knowing. I'm also with SL. I think they have a 30 day notice period. They also say the early termination cost is 0.

      • Yep, log into your account and type 'cancel service' into the speech bubble… They call you back and try and get you to stay connected by offering $10 off per month…. Now the 30 day countdown to find something cheaper begins!!

        • Thanks! That's pretty cool.

        • It wasn't so cut and dry for me. They made me call customer support to get it processed.

          • +1

@BatmanBeer: Oh really… cheeky buggers!! The lady I spoke to was trying to spruik how their speeds are going up (aren't they all) and then asked who I was changing to (I politely told her it was none of their business)

  • @ARCTEL any word on how long this deal will last? I'm moving from a private fibre network area to a NBN area in a 6-8 weeks and want to know if the deal will still be running then?

    • +3

Hi, current promotion is due to expire on the 14/09 unfortunately. Needless to say, we are here to stay, so there will be another offer for sure.

      • Thanks. I will have to do the maths to figure out if an extra month is worth it or not.

Edit: just saw your comment above about 30 days for sign up. I'll mark my calendar to sign up in September.

  • +2

Eh Superloop and most other 30 day notice peeps ended up being pro-rata for any time crossover plus maybe a week on top or such. Without being prompted.

  • -1

@arctel, I live in an apartment in Adelaide. And, I can only select Superfast (100/20 Mbps) or Lighting fast (100/40 Mbps). However, the coupon is not working on any of these plans. Can you please help?

  • Due to switch out from leaptel, so will give it a go

    • I'm in the same boat. Do you know if we need to tell Leaptel, or can just sign up to this and churn it automatically?

  • Anyone know if we can schedule activation for a future date?

    • +3

Rep said can order up to 30 days in advance

    • You have contact them post order. I called the number and someone answered in like 1min
They asked for Sales order and Date

      • There’s an option on the online order page to do so too

  • Wow, just spoke to my current ISP, who advised today is my last day for current cycle, so this was really perfect timing, thank you OP!

@ARCTEL Any chance you could push through my order for ASAP today please? TY so much <3
(Your messages are off, can't PM you)

  • Can I take advantage of the offer now but have the connection starting on 25/11/2025? Thank you.

    • +2

This has been asked and answered a few times, including exactly 2 comments above yours haiyaaa
