    • Thanks for the feedback !

  • Will plans be released for Fixed Wireless in the future?

    • Unlikely at this stage, FW comes with a lot of service issues unfortunately. This is a space the NBN definitely has to do a little more work around, before it would be viable for us to support.

  • Just switched today from Buddy Telco. Churn took like 5 minutes. Speeds are 840 down, 46 up. It's not bad so far speeds are a little slower and with Buddy Telco i was consistenly getting 900+ down. So far no outages or dropouts, seems decent for the price.

    • Yes any 1000Mbs plan should be at least 930+ (ideally around 970Mbs). Whilst 840 still sounds fast it makes me wonder if there are other issues. Raw download speed is not as important as a good latency. What was your upload and download pings like?

      • +3

Almost ready to send you a job offer @Roary.

        • +2

Heh, I would rather work for a company that actually looks into sub-par performances than is just sarcastic when the public points out slow performance.

  • +3

    Switched over yesterday.

Speeds are ok, but without a VPN there are a ton of sites/URLs which refuse to load (e.g. even HTTP requests to generic media.net URLs do not go through without a VPN).

@ARCTEL any idea why this could be happening (perhaps related to CGNAT)?

Before the switch to Arctel, I had no issues accessing sites/URLs without a VPN.

    • What kind of sites? Are you willing to share?

      • It was a few, for example funnily enough one was speedtest.net (e.g. no CSS was loading and the site looked horrible and did not function).

        • +1

That's worrying. I had issues like that with TPG. I had to change my dns to something else, like 8.8.8.8

    • Hi, if you send through an email to support with the addresses (assuming you are ok to share) we will happily look into this for you.

      • Thanks for replying. One site was speedtest.net.

The HTML was loading but most other static assets were not (until I switched on VPN).

        • +1

Thanks, will definitely get the team to look into this. If the issue persists, please send your service ID through in a DM.

        • -3

Hah. they are probably trying to block speedtest.net so you dont know how bad the connection is..

  • +2

Beware, Today I moved to Arctel from Tangerine. Current speed is only 40/40Mbps and couple of dropouts. I’m in west Melbourne. Support team blaming nbn for the speed and dropouts. A bad decision to churn. Hopefully they will fix it in 48hrs or will goback to Tangerine.

    • Hi Chris, the team is definitely working through any issues you may have - whilst this may be frustrating, if it was an issue on our, everyone would be getting 40/40! Send through your ticket / service ID in a DM & will have a look into it for you. Apologies for the inconvenience.

      • Posted in DM. Cheers.

        • Sounds like more of your router issue. Can you factory reset it?

  • +1

Hard to say no for $50. Switched over seamlessly within an hour. Getting ~420/47Mbps

  • +2

Can anyone who's signed up comment about the international routing latency /ping for gaming?

  • Joined today 35mins from signup 5mins for net to sync
game ping to Sydney where cod is stayed the same 13ms
    Speed tests From Brisbane to Sydney 925.77 / 47.91 7pm 2pm dl @110mb/105mb on Steam/Xbox
    no ipv6

    • Thanks for sharing - IPV6 is on the roadmap, we will have more information about this soon too!

    • @Kohan Both speedtest links are the same one

      • Oh, fixed the link 2pm new test today speeds have been stable

        • Speed is OK. however the latency is not so great. Its fine for everything unless you are a gamer.
Funny how your speed is up around 930 and everyone else is reporting around 850. I guess you must be near their only working pop.

          • @Roary: No, I'm in Brisbane their pop is in Sydney.

When i was with buddy Local speed test to abb server was 4ms now its 25ms

I would guess most bf6 servers will be in Sydney Like the Cod 6 servers.

        • Nice speeds :)

    • Ping test to a Singapore Speedtest server?
Wonder what international link they use to Asia….

      • Singapore
Speed tests are showing a lower ping then my old isp don't have any mmorpgs installed to test with.

  • Currently I am on fttn and if I request to start the service then on eg 14 Sept. how is the fttp upgrade process?
After 6 months it f I decide to move to other provider, do I need to choose plan at least 100/20?

    • Hi, the FTTP process is dependant on the NBN for installation time frames (7-21 days is an estimate). Once completed, you can move to any plan after the first month.

      • A while back I read somewhere mentioning the free fttp upgrade available if I maintain at least 100M plan for at least 12 months. Is that no longer required by nbnco and I can move to all plans 25M/50M/ higher?

      • @Team Triforce if I put the connection for 14 Sept, will the fttp installation starts before 14 Sept and the switch on date will be 14 Sept.
And then I need to let my fttn provider to disconnect?
        Thanks

    • After 14/9 100/20 won't exist if you're on FTTP or HFC. If you want less than 500/50, your only choices will be 25/10 or 50/20.

  • @ARCTEL,just confirming….. so this deal is open until 14/09. given we can sign up for 30 days in advance, meaning connection can be delayed using this deal up to 14/10 correct?

    • +2

At present, yes - however we will not guarantee this to be the case for the duration of the promotion. Would be safer to assume 14 days, so all provisions are completed within September.

Currently, you can select up to 30 days in advance & those orders will all be honoured.

      • Please do keep us updated if this changes.. some notice would be good :)

  • Really enjoy leaptel but this price is too good to pass up. If Perth traffic routing is enabled before the offer ends I'll probably give it a shot.

    • We are working on it, will have a network status / updates page & be able to share more around our rollout. Signup to the newsletter & we will keep you posted!

@ARCTEL I switched yesterday.. Still waiting for configuration information.. Without internet for 10 hours ++.. Frustrating..

    • Can you clarify please: When you switched yesterday, was your current ISP still active and not set to also expire yesterday OR.
Is it that your account is now active with ARCTEL but you don't know the setup details for modem?

My understanding is that once the new ISP takes control, there really shouldn't be much downtime in transition.
On the other hand if ones current connection, expired yesterday and new provider hasn't yet taken over, then yes, one has to wait until that kicks in. In turn best to always switch a couple of days in advance to current expiring to ensure minimum downtime.

EDIT: Below post by @jinx seems to answer my question, assuming you are in the same boat?

      • The previous provider should be connected until the end of this month. Arctel has been taken over. However, they haven't sent me any details. I called them multiple times, and same responses. One of the team members will call me within 1-2 hours, but nothing is happening!!

        • That's not good and wish ISP's had this all sorted and emailed config details in advance to transferring in. I noticed this with other, eg. DODO, Leaptel, Flip just to name a few. None sent config details and in all cases had to contact them as (in my case) required a "Username and Password for the PPoE on modem. Not saying that is the situation here but sounds like it.

          • @Borg: Yes!! That is so frustrating, and customer service blamed it on the number of new customers. They should've sent configuration details when they transferred..

            • @bkguard: Do you have access to a "Online Account Portal. If so, is there anything in there that has config details unique to you e.g. config Username/Password (if applicable)?

              • @Borg: I don't see any online account portal. The support team was not able to answer any of the questions, but only said they would pass the information..

                • @bkguard: Sorry to ask, but it answers some of my Q's in advance to switching should I do so. So where does one manage plan, invoices, update payment details etc. Surely one gets an Online Account to manage things upon sign up?

                  • +1

@Borg: I recall reading somewhere, probably somewhere in the comments by the rep that they're working on a customer portal. Apparently should be up soon.

                  • @Borg: I have zero idea.. They only sent me invoice and asked me the AVC ID.. after that they ghosted…

          • +2

@Borg: Yeah, in this case it’s not PPPoE. Arctel uses Automatic IP (DHCP), so no username/password is needed for setup.

            • @Jinx: This is correct. Please reach out to the support team if you’re still having issues getting online.

            • @Jinx: Yes, I had this issue moving from exetel to arctel: pppoe vs dhcp. No config details on their web site nor in the activation email which would have been helpful.

I contacted their email support and they suggested enabling dhcp which resolved the issue

              • @smokenmirraz: Yeah I believe they're a new company so I'll cut them some slack. But definitely helpful if they provided the necessary set up instructions once the service is active - rather than just a simple email stating "your service is active".

    • Hi, please send through your order ID in a DM if this has not been done already!

    • +1

Got the same issue bro. Such a simple consideration to not activate the service before the config info is issued…

  • +1

Switched over to Arctel yesterday. Got the email saying my service was active, but my internet wasn’t working. Called customer service and was told there’s an issue linking NBN to my service. I’ve now been without home internet for over 24 hours.

I guess this is the sort of thing that makes people hesitant to switch providers. Hopefully my issue gets sorted soon.

    • FTTP or HFC ?

      • FTTP

        • Same here no active service from Arctel. And no customer portal or tools. Luckily my active Launtel service is on port 2.

I suggest using Launtel for a temp service at least until arctel sort theirs out

          • @smileys: Thank you both for the feedback, please share your order ID’s in a DM - we have had a massive influx of orders (not your problem) & the team is definitely working through them.

Also noted, our “My Account” portal will be launched soon & we are always open for ways to keep enchanting your experience with us!

    • Finally after 2 days it's up and running.

  • Just switched too, activation process still waiting.

  • -4

    https://arctel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/critical-in…

Service terminated within 12 months of activation $179*

Think about it before your sign up.

  • Just signed up for connection in September. Anyone who switched on a HFC connection. Did you receive any special modem setup instructions for the service to work, i.e. is username and password required?

  • +1

Is the payment only accepted via credit card? Only got debit card though.

    • I used a debit card.
Debit cards work online, eftpos bank cards don't.

  • 2.5 days later and still waiting to be connected.
    HFC.
When I call, I got the same person twice who told me they'll call me be back shortly after speaking to the relevant team. They didn't. 🙄
My service with my current provider ends today so I'll be without internet until however long this takes…

    • Hi, please DM your order number through & we will get someone to look at it! Apologies.

    • Up 👆🏿 and running 🏃🏿

Anyone from melbourne able to comment on the latency/gaming experience?

  • Signed up. Hopefully transferred today!

  • Signed up around 11am today. Still waiting.

Reading comments that it might take 2 days doesn't sound promising.

  • Sign up about 2pm today. Internet off at about 3pm. Get connection about 4:15pm.

So let's see how it goes.

Was on Vodafone for a long while, but they raise the price.

    So jump ship.

PS. I checked my previous bill and provided the AVC ID. So I think this makes it quick.

    • On your invoice did it state your avc id, I did put when signup but somehow not stated. Maybe that the reason I’m still in the dark.

      • The AVC ID comes from my Vodafone bill.

  • Wonder if the performance will hold up in Hobart region?

  • Signed up around 3PM today and the internet is down at 6:30PM. No outage reported on NBN and the rep said no issues from their side.

  • I pay $62/month for optus NBN 100. Is it worth switching?

    • +1

That's a question only you can answer and happy to deal with switching.

Do you want to save $72 over 6 months and then pay $89.99 a month after that or switch again? Certainly speedwise, am sure your existing NBN 100 is more that enough as you haven't noted otherwise..

  • Signed up at 3PM today and have yet to be connected. Only received a confirmation email but still no internet. Looks like they're backlogged due to the promo.

    • Did you have an existing connection? If yes, what time did they disconnect!

    • My internet was disconnected for couple of hours and I contacted the tech support team. They said it was transferred and asked me to change the internet connected to 'Dynamic IP' from 'PPPoE'. Try that as well.

      • That’s only applicable if your previous provider used PPPoE (eg login details in your router)

      • No, you do not need PPPoE for this ISP.

    • I got connected early morning on the 29th. The service is just as advertised, consistent speeds and ping.

      • What's the ping, under 10s?

Leaptel I'm getting 8.79s, 105-108 down & 19.5 - 19.8 up (over WiFi). You're pretty guaranteed to get the speeds as advertised.

  • Hi everyone, does everyone’s first bill come out to $100?

  • If i sign up, can I delay the starting point to time it with my 30 day superloop cancellation period?

  • +1

Signed up on the 27th, still yet to be connected. I’ve rung 3 times and twice been told my service is active. Third time they’ve told me there’s back end issues which an engineer will need to resolve. It’s now over 1.5 days without internet :/ Moved from Superloop, so hoping it’s not a waste of time.

    Hoping it gets fixed today.

    • I'm in a similar boat. Signed up 27th, they asked for my AVC ID (my fault for not providing in the application), I responded on the 28th 8am and no updates since. When I called, they just told me to email support.

      • I provided AVC, and noticed others who signed up after us have been provisioned before. Doesn’t appear to be first in first serve..

        • I have now been connected - getting 930/51. Good luck on your connection

          • @FFx0: when did you signed up ? I did on 26th and still waiting.

            • @mani1990: 27th. I would email them and also call them.

  • +1

I realise this offer ends on 14/09, if I sign up before that with a connection date after 14/09 would I still be eligible for the offer? Or does the connection date have to be before 14/09?
