  • +2

good price IF you can get one. Most likely just for a couple of stores national wide.

  • d'oh! cheaper and looks like better spec'd than my $386 samsung amd win 8 laptop that i grabbed at jb. oh, well. looks like i will fighting the urge to buy this laptop

  • -1

Hi where was this? Receipt please!

  • That's like half price of street price, if not a price error.

  • +2

Was in Melbourne Boxhill. They had a few in stock - I'm guessing they'd be the same price anywhere there is stock

I particularly liked the extra 2 years warranty (normally $79).

    • Nice work!

      • how much i approach my local OW to get similar prices?

        • +12

          start from 700m away.

  • Great price for the desktop! Pity there's no dedicated gpu :(

My laptop is an i3 with 2gb ram. It runs Youtube and flash games. It can also play nfs hot pursuit on low settings (new version)

      • +2

my old acer aspire 5315 only had 1gb ram and i used youtube and games on it, i played warcraft all the time on it.

      • I'll repeat myself:

If you're just looking to type letters on word or minor web browsing (no flash games, no youtube etc), these would be ideal

Not they won't work; not you can't do that, but you will be severely limited when, for example, you have to play a not-new game on the lowest setting possible - I'd imagine even with that, you'd get dropped frames and lag all the same.

    • +2

This would handle youtube and flash games with ease

If you want 4GB of RAM then DDR3 is very cheap and easy to install

      • If you install RAM yourself, does it void the warranty?

        • +7

No. Unless you RAM it in backwards and break something.

      • Anything relatively modern can run youtube and flash games at the 720p resolution, my netbook with an Intel Atom can do it. No need to worry especially if it has an i3 chip.

    • I can run League of Legends and Counter Strike GO on high settings on my i3 2310 at 768p…..

Just get at least another 2GB of RAM if you want to play games.

    Hi Guys.
I'm a tech team member for an Officeworks in Victoria, thought I'd clear up this deal.

In regards to laptop markdowns, each store seems to have free reign over clearance pricing for Windows 7 laptops.

Your best bet is to bring in proof that one store is selling these particular laptops at these prices and ask for a match, but they are not obligated to match another store's Windows 7 laptop prices.

    Happy OZbargaining.

    • +2

thank you very much of this.

from your experience, would you say officeworks store be more likely to accept or reject the match?

      • +4

They'll most likely accept the match, but Windows 7 laptops are proving very popular atm.

        • +1

One of the WA OW stated that the policy only covers other none OW stores.
Individual stores markdown is not an advertised special. so no price beat/ match.
The manager ask me to go to the particular store instead.

So receipt is not that useful, which i tried before.

        • Most likely they WON'T accept the match as per edgar28 commented……

  • +3

Can you post your receipt please?

  • normally would ow honour their price match just by presenting them these photos robs12 provided?

  • +2

will be first in line tomorrow! Will post back on stock levels around sydney for ya's

      • did they have the Toshiba?

  • -1

Why does it come with non gigabit lan?

It's only slightly better than my mum's old laptop. I recommend testing it in store if possible.

  • As soon as i have that receipt i'll be out on the hunt. This laptop would be good for Uni you rekon?

      • wife has a netbook and hates it too small. I guess i'll work the size out if i see it in officeworks

  • The store is now sold out on the laptops and the desktop..

      • I went in this morning to check it out and they're sold out completely.

  • called a few stores in VIC, none in stocks except Glen Waverley which has 5 units left but not @$305 for the Toshiba. For all your hard work of running around, it may not worth your time.

  • tried epping vic, refused to price match

  • No discounts at DeeWhy.

    • Tried Glen Waverley (VIC) in person. Toshiba is marked down to $450 but no further discount or price match as stock is finished in other store

  • In case, anyone is interested in it. The toshiba tablet below is priced at $110 at OW Elsternwick Officeworks 377 Glenhuntly Road Elsternwick VIC 3185 03 9519 7600

You can give them a call for stocks availabilities.

  • Got an Acer at Box Hill.

Extended warranty is separate on the receipt for $79 and can be cancelled within 30 days making the price for the laptop with standard 1 year warranty just $196!

    Thanks OP

  • I've been to the box hill and nudawadding store and they don't have stock. Glen Waverly is the only store with stock and they won't price match. Please mark this deal as expired

How come they said clearance is only for returns or used items ? And they can't do it for that price. Have to pay full
    Fail

  • Don't bother with price matching at the Windsor, Brisbane store… they wouldn't. Plus they only had the Acer.

  • Liverpool, NSW won't match hand written ticket prices.

  • That's right Taren Pt. had both and Carlton has the Toshiba but went to both and they told me they will not price match clearance pricing even from another OW and will only price match standard pricing. You'd have to go to that specific OW or get lucky with one willing to do it anyway (unlikely).

  • +1

What people don't seem to understand is this counts as stock liquidation pricing and as such, according to their policy on price matching (http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/landing/Lowest-price-gu…) there is ZERO obligation to match these prices, regardless of their source.

  • +1

OW bondi junct had stock on the toshiba (last one) but refused to match. They apparently called the box hill store, & they apparently said they "only had that one and it was a returned item". I don't believe it.

Best they offered was display C850 for $450. No deal'

  • Hmm, doesn't sound good does it….sorry if it didn't work out for you.
Boxhill had several (6 I think he said) when I went in yesterday. Mine was brand new in sealed box, certainly not a return or display model. Guess I got lucky…

  • +1

Yep, you got lucky, good on/for you. I'm jealous but OW Petersham said the same thing about the Acer. I'm giving up. Please expire (or whatever) this "deal", thanks all.

  • No reduction in price in OW Bondi, prices as per website and no price match.

  • Tried vermont south vic
    No luck
Oh well too good to be true for some people
It was only good for a few people who were luxky enough to get it

  • Just been to kogarah bay ow, the tech guy said the manager has emailed them for not to match the $305 deal as it is not a correct price.

However the guy did said that I would be doable if the item is on clearance in the website, it's not at the moment but may be soon as he suggested.

    • Doubtful as the item is stated as 'out of stock'. IMHO, no online clearance, not store clearance.
