NuSkope 200GB Naked ADSL2+ for $59.95/Mo

17
launch

Had looked around for a good deal for naked ADSL2+ and a friend linked me to these guys. I sussed out feedback from whirlpool and looks to be overall very positive.

Their DSLAMs are a combo of Optus, Telstra and AAPT, whichever are availble.

Their naked launch plan is as follows:

200GB (anytime - no peaks) for $59.95 a month. Options for normal ADSL2+ is also available.
This also includes a static IP address.

They offer the following equipment too:
FRITZ!Box 7270 ($128.00 setup/equip fee only on 12mo, otherwise $69 equip fee on 24mo)
FRITZ!Box 7390 ($158.00 setup/equip fee only on 12mo, otherwise $99 equip fee on 24mo)
Billion 7700N ($59.95 setup fee only on 12mo, otherwise free on 24mo)
BYO Modem ($59.95 setup fee only on 12mo, otherwise free on 24mo)

Are you kidding? This is a bargain?

I'd prefer a static IP and australian support over TPG's any day of the week. You try finding a naked service which offers that.

By the way, I was a TPG customer and just signed up with these guys.

theres a trick to getting good support from TPG which has worked for me every time

        1) call call centre and get shit service, ask for australian call number and get refused
        2) call the telecommunications ombudsman, get a complaint # and the australian call centre number
        3) ????
        4) profit

ive had them tell me from the OS call centres that things simply can not be done, within a couple of minutes (to call TIO then the aus number) its been sorted. its a bit of a hassle yes but there prices are cheap enough and there services good enough (both there ADSL and there mobile) that the couple times a year someone who knows what they are doing will have to call its well worth it.

        +1 tpg

still prefer unlimited adsl2+ with TPG. i pay $60 per month including a landline.

    • The thing with TPG is that their capping is somehow not automated. I've managed to go over my cap by about 300gb whilst maintaining my speeds

      • Why would you worry about capping if it's unlimited? ;)

        • I was implying that you dont need to pay for an unlimited connection since tpg is slow at capping people…

  • If u have own modem and not buy from them u get charge $150???
    WTF?

    • I'm still trying to figure that out, I'll call them up and ask, but otherwise I ordered a fritz! box anyway.

      • I think that fee refers to breaking your contract. Leave early and pay $150 penalty.

        The heading is

        Contract Breach Fees

        which is a little confusing.

No deal, this is pretty standardised pricing for 200GB NakedDSL. Adam Internet do it for the same price, plus it's running off their own hardware.

"Their DSLAMs are a combo of Optus, Telstra and AAPT, whichever are available."

That spells a nightmare to me when it comes to connection troubleshooting. The NuSkope helpdesk staff have very limited control over equipment the company doesn't own - expect long waits and to be kept in the dark while they liaise with the port access wholesalers..

meh, i've got a better deal with telstra

    • yeah for $80 got 200Gb cable + phone & free local calls.

  • I dont know how this can be a bargain with such a price.

I think MyNetFone offers a more competitive deal -

    https://www.mynetfone.com.au/Residential/Home-Internet/Naked…

    $59.95 Standard Plan:
    Download Quota (Peak/Off Peak): 500GB (250/250GB)
    Upload Quota (Peak/Off Peak): Unlimited
    Excess Quota: Shaped to 256kbps
    IP Address: Static
Special Offer: Get a FREE Modem or FREE Calls for a Year*!

Pretty sure support is Australian based too.

    • EDIT: Ignore me.

    • Support from Mynetfone is good but like most call centers if your patient & polite you seem to get results.

  • No deal. I'm on the same price for Exetel with 300GB plus unlimited off peak :)

  • too expensive

BYO Modem ($59.95 setup fee only on 12mo, otherwise free on 24mo)

    Supplied own modem $150.00

    lol

stiff fees for not supplying hardware

Its not a deal at all, I also have the $60 plan with TPG and it works flawlessly with unlimited downloads and a telephone connection included. Can't find an incentive to shift here.

  • +2

for $69 you get unlimited TPG Unlimited

  • lol this is sooo bad
im with dodo unlimited and its great

    • Oh good god, please tell me you didn't just say that…..no….the universe will implode. Take it back….quick!
EDIT: (I'm just being silly, please don't take seriously)

      • im not sure what your post is meant to mean?
weather your saying dodo is bad or just a pointless post

ive been with many isp including tpg and iprimus by far i find dodo the be the best as to getting problems fixed if there ever has been any and such

also ive spoken to multiple australian people when needing to call customer service although there are overseas as well

    • me too dodo sucks pretty hard but still unlimited bundled for $60 a month is way better then 200gb limit without line.

  • sorry guy, this isn't ozbargin worthy!

  • Would have to be $40 for naked and 200gb data to get me to move.

  • The poster of this deal can only be the REP (ie. this is just advertising!)

    • I'm actually not a rep, I genuinely though this was a good deal, whilst comparing iinet, optus, telstra, internode and TPG, I also did some crowd sourcing though my friends and was referred NuSkope.

Overall, after the comments, I wasn't aware of MyNetPhone's and AdamInternet's offer and I do reckon it is a better deal, but I still prefer a Fritz!Box for my equipment than a crappy netcomm at the end of the day.

Regardless, I'm curious to try a different ISP and maybe their lower userbase and Australian support would pay off at the end of the day.
