        There's only a small % of overlap in the specials. So having the item in the LHS would have lots of blank entries for prices.

      Franklins/IGA IMHO would normally be more expensive.
      So if anything came out cheaper it would be deserving of its own deal.

      The majority of Aldi's product line is not directly comparable as they do not carry the same brands.

    Every liquor price on sale is till cheaper at my local bottle-o. It amazes me how a small independent store can be cheaper than such a large corporation.

    I suppose people still buy from Woolworths and Coles regardless the price. They have people brainwashed.

    Question regarding the Champagne, what do the connoisseur think. Good price for 2 bubblies?

      Aldi Champagne is $29.99 - & imho as good as Moet (which imho is almost as ordinary as champers gets) … and you don't have to buy two!

      They also do a (just) passable $2.49 bottle of red.

      Both go well with their absolutely delicious as-good-as-you'll-get soft blue cheese for about $5.49.

    I +1'd you too. But these lists only remind me - as a happy ALDI shopper & as an OZBargainer - how lucky I am to have an ALDI near me where most of the stuff I need is cheaper than at the Duopoly, even when they have a "50% off special" & b) how most of the stuff on special is either overpriced and/or crap that I don't need.

    I only looked because someone gave my wife a $250 Coles gift voucher …. would be worth twice as much at Aldi.

    Compared to ALDI the Fat Twins are all about smoke n mirrors & high prices.

    (Yes of course there are the odd things that are nice and u can only get there … but they are the exception.)
