      • +1

      • +1

ABN is required in the next step when you sign-up for the actual paypal account

  • Just make one up?

    • Thats what i did
      new email address, fake name
Their not going to ask for an ID unless your account balance is over $1000

    • +5

Dibs on Vandelay Industries, Importer & Exporter.

      • You need a ABN? I think they will check and verify the ABN with the details before depositing the $100.

        • Just registered without an ABN.

          Didn't ask for one.

      • Dibs on Sheinhardt Wig Company

BEWARE! if you are creating a third or more account, paypal WILL close and restrict all accounts and you will not be able to appeal the decision. you are only allowed 1 personal and 1 business account IIRC.
i'm all for bargains and free cash but i will not mess with this offer

    • yes beware this looks like another paypal scheme to have an excuse to lock your funds, do NOT have more than 1 business accounts paypal will freeze your credits and you will not be able to get your money back.

  • Does anyone know if it's possible to make a business account and personal account with the same email address? Or do I need two different email addresses?

    • +1

      two different

      • Thanks! Would I need to provide an office address as well as a home one? Because mostly I work from home.

  • Hi there - can I use my home address when I open up a business account?

  • Query: Will selling something on ebay (to receive a paypal payment) work? I'm guessing it won't (because it's not paypal EXPRESS checkout).

    • and receive at least ONE PayPal payment via Express Checkout, VT, WPS or Email Payments before 31st March 2013.

so you can ask someone to make a $1 email payment , its that easy

I foresee another ING referral madness coming soon on OzB (although on a smaller scale).

      • (accidental double post, sorry)

  • Sounds good, thanks for the post.

  • "This bonus is not available to existing PayPal business and premier account holders."

My existing personal account is a premier type, so the above condition puts a question mark over whether I'd receive the bonus if I open a new, separate business account.

  • Also with email payment there is a charge if paying via credit card

    EDIT : 2.4% + 30cents

  • I have created an biz account….. so I will pay my paypal (normal one) $100 buckroonies!! SCORE! thanks OP!

  • They asked me for a ABN

  • +3

Is there suppose to be any confirmation after you click 'Submit' to register?

    • I didn't get one either :\

  • Whoa, twice as good as the "Get $50.00 free when you sign up" that ING were offering. Have just upgraded to a Business account then, and yes, ABN was required. Can't wait for some more free cash :D

    • Actually, if you use ING's 5% back, whenever you use "Wave & Save" terminals, through end of June 2013, you'll win 5% from a potentially unlimited number of transactions (up to $99 each) in the remaining weeks.

(By contrast, the PayPal offer is 1-off.)

      • +1

But that would mean I have to spend money! :)

  • +1

does anyone get some sort of confirmation when you register for the offer?

  • Is there a catch? (hidden fees or etc) I have an ABN number.

    • Yea if you sell something you have to pay income tax every financial year.

      no thanks

  • I like to know the same if there is any fee associated with each business transaction.

  • To meet this criteria:

"receive at least ONE PayPal payment via Express Checkout, VT, WPS or Email Payments before 31st March 2013"

Does the person sending the payment require a paypal account?

    • I sent (via the biz paypal) myself a invoice to my normal paypal email addy…. to which i paid the invoice on my normal paypal…

so I think I have done what is needed to active the offer (got charged 54c tho!!)

  • Does (or will) PayPal (soon) -charge- any fees (eg, monthly/acc't-holding or usage fees for each transaction) for each Business Account?

    • no periodic fees, but varying transaction fees on monies recieved - generally 2.4% + 30c per transaction

  • I am a PP Biz newbie and I too am concerned about fees. Digging a little deeper shows these fees. Please correct me if I misunderstood. Assume domestic transactions and no international credit/debit cards.

    Monthly fees

    • Free for "add a checkout", "Express Checkout", "Sell on eBay", "Invoicing", "Digital goods"
    • $25 for "Customised checkout", "Sell by phone"
    • Varies for "Payment gateway"

    Transaction fees

    • Money transfer without buying goods & services: Free if entirely funded by PayPal balance or bank account, $0.30 + 2.4% otherwise
    • Pay for goods & services: Free
    • Receive money for goods & services sold: $0.30 + 2.4% (for sales below $5000 per month)

The question is what does PP mean in Step 3: Receive your first payment into your account by 31 March 2013? Payment as in free money transfer, or payment as in $0.30 + 2.4% thank you very much.

    • yer what payment must be made?

  • im just gonna get the cash and run!!

  • Registered and sent a payment of $1 from my personal account. Now just have to wait till May lol…

  • Do you have to put $1? Can I put only 10 cents to be eligible for the offer?

  • did anyone else get asked for a ABN?

  • I have a question.

I'm recently started selling on eBay with an eBay store and all. In the last 120 days, I've sold >$20k worth of products so far.

Haven't really touched into Paypal's business account yet, just been using my own personal one.

Would now be a good time to open a business account with this deal? I'm afraid if i open one I'll have to start paying tax and all.

    • if you sell over 20k on paypal, they are obligated by law to pass on your details to the ATO (including ebay username, paypal email address, you address on paypal/ebay, your telephone numbers, you selling activity, etc etc). SO im assuming the ATO already know about your activity on ebay and will question your tax return

      http://whrl.pl/RcrAQM

      • hmmm guess i need to declare it in my tax return this financial year.

I may as well open a business account and make use of this offer from paypal right?

        • make sure u keep a detailed record of your net earnings and ebay/paypal expenses (tax deductible)

  • Has anyone called them up to check to see if you receive a personal payment (ie no fees deducted) from someone you qualify for the $100 or does it need to be a commercial payment with fees deducted? would also invoicing someone qualify?
