Today's Dick Live Daily Deals, they are offering Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1" 16GB Wi-Fi Tablet with bonus Logitech UE Headphone UE4000 (worth $149) for $279 + shipping. Although on the website it says free shipping above $250, apparently not with this. Black is back online again!!

If you don't want the headphone, you could always go to the OfficeWorks get the price match and 5% off.

The headphone's review isn't too bad, guess it is a quite good bonus.

      Of course its not worth $149, but a bonus is a bonus, amazon sells it for $99 USD, the cheapest I can find on StaticICE is $85

          Yes, that would be my guess.
          AU stocks are around $299 (such as officeworks, good guys etc)
          Grey stocks are around $325 (i.e eglobal, No worries),Kogan & Uniquie Mobiles for $349..

          Anyone knows why Au stocks are cheaper?

    I guess extra $20 off is eligible if payment is made by PayPal - works out to be $10 off ($20 PayPal Discount - $10 Delivery Charge)

    Headphones are not offered with click and collect. So have to order online and pay delivery charge.

    Is this tablet fast enough with a dual core processor?
    Bought xoom 2 but sold it cause it is just too slow. It does not running smoothly.
    Good deal anyway as you get a big bonus

      I just watched some reviews for it, on Youtube. It was considered sluggish back in May 2012, so that's not a good start.

      It's very cheap if you'll be using the headphones and have a tablet to play with, but I wouldn't count on it for performance.

      I got the xoom 2 for my partner and it runs great once you upgrade to 4.0.3 and get rid of the widgets/bloatware. Also closing app's properly speeds it up when it slows down

        Yep, a Customer Service rep gave me the good news today. No great loss, as I have iTunes credit untouched for almost 12 months. Better news is that the delivery charge will be refunded.

    Could anyone educate me on whether I should just stick to an iPad for the grandparents or should I buy this?? I was just under the impression iPad would be easier for them to use ….. Worth the extra $ for an iPad that prob doesn't do as much (but might be less stress)

      Apples are popular sellers due to their simplicity in my opinion. IT literate people usually choose android devices (and usually have something against Apple and Microsoft). This is not saying they wouldn't be able to grasp an android, but from my experiences, older people find the Apple's easier to use.

        iOS is great for the average person to pick up and use. Android is more for technically-minded if you want to use it to it's full potential; at it's basic level I don't believe it's very intuitive.

    Wow I rooted it and changed to a custom rom and got at least 25% more performance out of it. Antutu scores reached a max of 8000 with cpu and gpu overclocking. Here is the link to ROM I'm using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133589
    Make sure you backup your tablet.

        You don't even need to overclock it.

        By rooting & flashing a custom rom, you will get better performance because:
        - Latest android - 4.2.2 vs the 4.0 on this. 4.1 in particular brought speed improvements.
        - Stock android - no bloatware from samsung.

        And ofc, with the latest android you'll be able to do alot more (e.g. user accounts on 4.2).

        I really recommend flashing Cyanogenmod 10.1 (CM10.1) M2 on this. Cyanogenmod has been around for ages and is generally accepted as one of the best custom roms (IMO the best), balancing speed and stability.

        Well when I first got it was a bit laggy overall plus its stuck on ics and australia hasnt got the jelly bean update yet. I decided to upgrade it and it made a huge difference, performance overall especially web browsing has improved. It is risky to root and put a custom rom but if you follow instructions carefully you will see a big difference. You dont need to overclock but it makes the tablet smoother in games.
