    got one aswell woop :)

  • +1

hmm will this work for movies n tv shows off the ps3?
    cheers

  • Be wary on the build quality. Easily Snap-able if no precaution taken in handling this headset but for the price you can't go wrong.

  • -3

im already looking forward to forgetting ive got the volume up too high and scaring the shit out of myself….like when I played halo 4 with my first headset

  • -4

-Insert comment about how I had no intention of buying anything until 5 minutes ago, when I went on OzBargain-

  • +4

What an OzBargain. Bought it, now I'm leaving for work. lol nothing like a bit a ozbargain to kickstart your morning!

  • +2

Damn says coupon can't be validated now..

    • works again now ;-)

  • +3

I went to bed last night believing I had resisted the urge to spend money on a good bargain.
I was only fooling myself :(
Thanks for picking this deal up.

  • I remember ages ago people used to complain about COTD taking ages to ship. Does this still happen?

    • I believe so been a year since my last purchase but last i heard same, shame because good place to shop only problem are the mystery delivery times.

  • Elysiar, retail therapy is good (a high) until you see the end of month credit statement (a low)

    • I knew there was a reason I don't have a credit card :)
Although my bank's 'in' and 'out' graph makes me see red a little too much…

  • +2

I have too many pairs of headphones… Can't believe I just bought another….

    • I'm the same. I've tried almost every type of wired headset on the market. This is my first foray into the wireless scene. Admittedly, my biggest problems with headsets are the wires tangling, so being the Sherlock Holmes that I am I can deduce wireless has no wires, therefore no tangles in non existent wires.

      • +1

Unfortunately it introduces another problem along the following lines:

"Watson! Have you seen the USB dongle for my headset? I swear I left it plugged into the computron, but alas it was not so. Damn this infernal wireless technology!"

  • +1

Is it me or this happening to everyone else? When i see a good deal on COTD web page i force myself not to binge buy, but when i log on to OZBARGAIN web page i see the deal and the ++++ i end up weak at the knees and submit to purchasing :(

    • Ozbaragin effect lol

  • +1

Any idea how to connect this headset to 3.5mm stereo socket? If possible that would be helpful to use it with TV or other players.

    • I would also like to know if this is possible before buying…

    • +1

I think that's only possible on the newer edition which is called the "Pulse" wireless headset. That one comes with a 3.5mm jack on the wireless dongle which you can use to transmit audio from any 3.5mm device wirelessly.
I don't think model comes with that feature.

  • This question is probably asked before but I couldn't find the answer to it lol. I've found in comments that it works with some android phones. Does anyone know if I can listen to music via iphones(iOS6)?

  • +1

FYI - this headphone apparently works with Galaxy Note 2 and Note tablet via USB host cable! So I can only assume it will work with other Android phones that have USB host including SGS3, Note 1 etc. Having a dongle hanging on the phone might not be sexy but I'll still be using it that's for sure.

    • Going to give this a go with my GS3 running CM10.1…

      • let me knwo how you go,
I'd be really interested in getting this to work with an S3

  • +2

Add me to the list of people that was pulled in by this thread. Been looking around for wireless surround sound headphones recently however my main purpose was for hooking up to the TV/Media Player (No, I do not use the PS3 as a media player). But for the price and rave reviews going on here I now have dedicated Modern Warfare headphones. Should keep the Mrs happy now she won't have to try and sleep with the rat-tat-tat of machine guns.

      1. you still play MF?
      2. you use a MG?

      Interesting

        • Thanks, all good Hotmail was mucking up yesterday and just didn't send it to me..

my tracking still is not valid though, it has already been a day. or is this just another "Aust Post Normality"

  • Yup, code still invalid.

  • Anyone had any luck getting this coupon to work since they extended it? I want to use it but I get 'invalid coupon code' message.

    • +2

Sorry all, had a few technical difficulties. The code should work for everyone now - And it will end tomorrow at midday. Thanks, QQQ.

      • Yay, it's working now! Thanks :-)

      • +1

        Worked. Bought it. Thanks!

  • still working for me and order one.just copy and paste the coupon it work.
    Cheers

  • Grabbed one - couldn't resist even though I already have a good pair of wireless cans for the home theatre system which the PS3 is connected through anyway. Now I've got the mic and 7.1 surround :)

  • I hate you ozbargain, you are a blessing and a curse ;)

    • +1

Yeah, great huh. And now i need a new game to go with these…

      • +1

On the subject of that, I suggest Hitman: Absolution. The soundtrack to that is fantastic, and I think for a sneaky-sneaky sort of game, surround sound might be advantageous. Dropped heaps in price too since release.

        http://www.ozgameshop.com/ps3-games/hitman-absolution-game-p…

      • +1

Mass Effect 3 and all 3 Dead Space games have amazing audio that work fantastically with this headset.

  • Been looking out for a good cheapish wireless headset. Had talked myself out of it though till I saw this. + anyway :)

  • If I'm using the PS3 to stream movies from a server (or play off a USB), will this work?

  • -1

Its the OLD one…the new one is so much better and I paid $100 imported!

    • Are you comparing it to the 'Pulse' model?

    • There's still a huge difference between $60 and $100, including the 12 month Australian warranty with this set versus an overseas warranty.

  • So you can only use it with the PS3?? My PS3 is collecting dust right now… So will this if I buy it.

    • I can be used on a pc but not in virtual 7.1, only stereo sound.

  • In what way is the new one better?

So basically the only main difference is the change from a wireless USB dongle, to a wireless 3.5mm RCA dongle.

      • No, the new one still uses a USB dongle, but it also supports input via a 3.5mm cord (like standard headphones).

Also, the review you linked mentioned bluetooth, but nowhere else can I see bluetooth mentioned ie Sony site etc.

        • My bad, that site was the closest I could find to a decent comparison.

  • This is what I received after purchasing a pair of shoes. Is that only me? or most of you are having troubles with COTD these days?

    Hi ,
You may notice in your next delivery from us that the "Skechers Krove-Donato Men’s Shoe - Dark Navy-9 US Size" is missing.
Unfortunately there was a discrepancy between the numbers that the inventory system said we had and what was actually on the shelves.
Therefore, when you purchased the item it said it was still in stock, however as your order was being packed we noticed that we had actually run out. The delay was due to us trying to source more to fulfil the order, but unfortunately we were not able to.
Please understand that we were assured that all orders will be dispatched and we were not aware of any problems at the time of your purchase. The moment we heard of the problem, a refund was organised and you were notified immediately.
I'm afraid I've had to refund that item for you (including relevant shipping charges). The payment will be reversed today, but please allow 2-3 business days for it to appear on your statement.
I apologise again for this shortage and I hope we haven't cause you too much inconvenience.
    Kind regards,

  • Order dispatched. That was quick.

  • More than 24hours since shipping email and my tracking ID is still invalid. This happen for anyone else?

    • Mine works, though shows as manifested

    • Mine is invalid too

    • Mine is invalid as well

  • We have some great news - Your order has left our warehouse and is on its way to you!
We ask that you please allow 3-9 days for your package to arrive at your nominated address.

14/03/13 11:27 Shipment information received SUNSHINE WEST VIC

  • Mine was also invalid, but i received mine this morning.

    • As did i!

      • Mine was here this morning too!

        • Mine arrived too! Not in the morning though.

  • Anybody know if this would work on an Android TV dongle device like the MK808 or the Minix Neo X5? I thought this one supported the 3.5mm jack, damn!

    • I think it's try it and see. If your device has a full size USB port or supports USB OTG, then I think it will work. The USB dongle is kind of a USB sound card I think?

  • +1

Wow, that was really fast postage, ordered 13/03/2013 arrived just now. Didn't even receive a 'Your item has been sent email'.

My 2 cents worth (used on a PC):
    Pros:

    • really really comfortable
    • sound pretty good, very stereo
    • only a very slight hiss when connected but no signal, once sound starts there seems to be no audible 'wireless noise'

    Cons:

    • no charging cable included (Mini USB), for something that RRPs @ $100 that's a bit stingy Sony
    • even when I have the PC & headset turned down as far as they will go, it's still quite loud
    • won't work in either of my laptops USB3.0 ports, only the USB2 port. It's detected fine and get set as the default device, but no sound comes from the headset.
    • Mine works well with USB3.0 either in win 7 64 or win 8 64 bit.

    • Yeah, I agree it's totally stingy that it doesn't come with a cable. I was shocked for about 5min after opening…before reading the manual!

You might have to go fiddle around with the audio settings to get it to work. Not sure about what ports they were on mine but took me a bit of adjusting settings to get it. Used them on my ps3 and PC and both are GREAT for this 60$. Bargain.

  • Arrived this morning as well. Just waiting for the red light to turn off to say it's charged (only just started though)……..

  • Got mine yesterday , but there is no charger inside, is that normal without a charger , I know I can find any usb as charger.
Otherwise it's really good headphone but not working with my Razr HD though.

    • No cable included (actually states this somewhere, manual I think). As said before, pretty stingy considering the RRP. Love it so far though.

  • Haven't opened mine yet but pretty sure that's right - you have to supply your own USB for charging.

  • Actually gang - what are the thoughts on this unit after testing?

I've already got Sennheiser wifi headphones that I have had for five or six years and I use them for anything attached to my home theatre system.

I but grabbed these in true OzB style because they were a steal and I have nothing with talking capability. That said, I don't do much online play to-date but perhaps I will soon.

Worth opening these?! Those who have tested - are you impressed?

    • Unfortunately not, bass feels far too hollow and booming and higher pitch sounds have a bit of a squeal to them (apologies if I'm using the wrong terminology there). Only tested with MGR on PS3 so far coming straight from a pair of stereo HD25s from a previous deal. After a while it all becomes a much lesser issue, but the initial step down from one to the other was quite noticeable. I'd hazard a guess at RRP you're much better off with an equally priced set of Sennheisers for pure sound, for a $60 USB plug&play wireless headset + mic however this was an absolute steal in my book.

      • Thanks - ended up unboxing it on the weekend and gave it a run.

I haven't done a side-by-side comparison with my RF Senny's but I will in the coming weeks.

They Sony's are very comfortable, like others have noted. While I do get a hiss when there's no sound flowing through - such as in between scenes - that becomes inaudible once there's action again onscreen.

Sound is full and keeps you in the atmosphere. For gaming - and the price - they're a good buy at this price.

Nothing beats using the full home theatre for the immersive experience, but with two young kidlets I can't really do that late at night so these will come in handy.

  • Got mine today! :)

  • CotD has redeemed themselves a bit in my book, great service.

  • +1

The volume on these are way too high. I have it turned all the way to the lowest setting and it's still too loud.

Nevermind, figured out that having the mic/audio level all the way up on audio was the problem.

    • I have my audio/voice set dead in the middle and its still way to loud! Ill have to have another play around with it later though….

They sound good though, for the price, i'm very happy!!

      Very good service from COTD!
