  • Trying to purchase in IE but the 'Place Order' button seems to be broken when trying to pay with both CC and Paypal, gave up and ordered through safari on my phone instead, thanks OP

  • 40KG-capacity hanging scales from china can be had for less than $5 on most sites, in case anyone is unaware. I have one and they work great.

Though I haven't seen this particular design in my China-shop travels, but it still strikes me as a tad expensive compared to what's out there.

The strap is a nice touch though.

I am not sure how accurate the other china brands are but I have tested this and it is really accurate. I used to have problems with Australia post and Ebay shipping price because they don't match but now it is not an issue.

      • good to know, cheers

I have 2 of the cheap-china weighing scales, and they work wonderfully good and accurate! Now my family also owned some after using mine during our overseas trip. The letdown is just waiting time for shipping - as the usual case for Ebay items.

        • I have tested my Chinese cheapie against a $40 Tanita kitchen scale (great brand), and both have been comparable, the only difference being that the Tanita kitchen scale can do 1-gram increments and the Chinese cheapie has an increment of 5 grams. But this is a normal increment for scales that can do tens of kilograms like this.

I have been totally pleased with the Chinese cheapie.
But I haven't really tested against another device with items weighing in excess of 3KG. But it sure seems accurate in this range.

  • I grabbed one of these last time. Perfect for keeping under the baggage limits.

  • got one.. thanks…

  • Got one - Bing Lee's ordering system is flakey at best - wouldn't allow Paypal

    • what? i got through with paypal. i kinda didnt see any other option.

    • Paypal is working fine

  • will this be the same price if we just walk into a store?

    • yes in ACT

  • I've got one of the digital scales sold by Aldi a few months back. At $5 it was a real steal!

  • Thanks for posting. Been waiting for this

Awesome, don't need to weigh myself before and after I hold the bag now.

    • But it's free if you do that!

  • Thanks for posting.

Free post makes this a good buy. Thanks also to those who have commented on its accuracy.

This product is currently out of stock - :(
Edit: closed browser, tried again, now has stock?…..ok sold!

    • had that same problem.

  • Thanks OP - got one for my parents - they love travelling :)

  • Thanks OP! I was gonna buy a $35 one on the weekend, glad i didn't!

    • remind you, scale with small hook is pain in the a$$, i bought one of this cheap aliexpress and turn out you cant used it at all, with small hooks that cant really hook anything on it. if the bag to heavy (let say 25kg) the hook just free itself cause the hook doesn't want to work too hard.

Binglee website is crap, wont accept any form of payment, what a waste of time

    • Mine worked just fine with Paypal. Clear cache or try another browser if possible.

    • neg the deal for your ignorance?

your name is tagged. LASER. lol

  • Thanks for this. Got one :)

  • nice, bargain.

  • Thanks for this! Been wanting to replace my useless "hook" luggage scale with something more practical. The hook ones don't work, the luggage just slides right off! Hopefully this one should do the trick :)

Thanks for the post. Bought one from Bing Lee, easy transaction on their website.

The benefits of this Salter model are: A reliable brand, A great handle for your hand, An excellent, strong strap for lifting a suitcase or a bag.

My advice, don't buy any of the cheap Chinese luggage scales with the hook! Some are listed above. We used one in Vietnam last November. A back-breaking, waste of time when weighing a heavy suitcase.

For the sake of a few dollars, this Salter Luggage Scale is vastly superior, safer and easier to use.

    • Isn't it made in China as well?

  • Tried a couple of times but says it's out of stock.

  • Out of stock.. =(

I'll just have to keep checking….

  • I'm in the market for one…a quick question - How does this compare to the ebay cheapies? Is the salter one much better?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/25Kg-40Kg-50Kg-Digital-BackLight-…

  • Luckily I got one, thanks OP.

  • $19.95 at the good guys if you really need one…

    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/Salter_Luggage_Scale…

  • Just got one after >10 tries at different times being told its out of stock

  • I've managed to order 2 of these Salter scales (earlier in the day).

I've been using those cheap Chinese scales. I've never used this particular Salter model but I've been happy with all my other Salter products.
    Issues with the Chinese scales:
Although they are state they weigh up to 40kg… I wouldn't put that much weight on it. I've put 30kg on it and the strap wasn't looking too happy.
My scale gave up the ghost on my last trip. The Tare button was stuck and I couldn't fix it.

I'm a tight ar$e but I'm also a greenie. Buy good once or buy cheap heaps.

  • Did anyone get a email from Bing Lee confirming the purchase? I only got the Paypal payment confirmation. I can see it in my order history on the Bing Lee website though.

  • Have anyone received their order? Mine is still processing.
I have tried the live chart with Binglee and their response is "your order will be dispatched as soon as the stock arrives at our warehouse". Since I have placed my order quite early in the morning on 13/3/2013, this makes me believe Binglee didn't even have any stock before they put up the sale.

  • My order has not been processed either. Upon contacting them this is the response i received:

"We apology for the delayed, due to beyond our control the item you ordered is out of stock and we are waiting for the stock to arrived into our warehouse. Unfortunately, we do not have any Estimate Time of Arrival of the stocks come into our warehouse. As soon the items have arrive into our warehouse, we will dispatch the item immediately and you will receive a tracking number and courier company via by email. You can able to check the status with the courier company’s website.

    Regards,

    Online Sales Team"

    Time for a refund..

  • cancelled order via live chat and got one from good guys instead.
