this offer has existed for a very long time

    ANZ/esanda offer similar deal

  • Not this again, all major banks have a special for brokerage for new customers. Nab and westpac also.

    • Not bankwest though :( I regret using them without a sweet deal

  • would someone mind just explaining how this works to me? I know a bit about shares but not really on how to buy and sell. does this offer mean I get600$ to buy shares? or is there something hidden in this

    • usually the broker charges a fee every time you make a buy/sell transaction.
the $600 covers these fees but you will still have to pay for your shares.

      • So i just tried putting in a buy. There was a brokerage/cost of 19.95, has the brokerage fee been minus or am i not getting this offer

  • You get $600 worth of brokerage fees… doesn't include purchase price of any shares.

  • Its like how casinos give you free bets…sucks you in everytime!

    • Please tell me which casinos.

  • From memory, I think you only have 3 months in which to use up the free brokerage.

  • i preferred their $200 cash offer which was posted here late last year and which i took advantage of. thanks very much CBA :)

  • Still misleading wording in their offer.

More accurately, it's a maximum 12 trades free, within 3 months. There are some other conditions as well.

It's not that you actually get $600 brokerage and could use until you've used it up, say over the next couple of years, which is what the wording indicates. It's actually the maximum value that those 12 trades could be worth, which is extremely unlikely that anyone would ever have been able to achieve it.
