  • Will this still work even though i have Norton on my computer?

    • Doesn't appear to be a virus scanner so it should work with norton on your pc.
I'm highly sceptical about any software that claims to "boost your windows". They usually cause more problems then they solve.

      • It's really just like CCLeaner except with a few reg tweaks here and there.

I would personally advise against installing anything that does questionable stuff without telling you the specifics. CCleaner is more transparent in that it shows the user what changes it makes.

      • Maybe he meant Norton Utilities. There's far more to Norton than just a virus scanner.

I'm running it now and I can tell the program is basic. A little too basic — in fact, CCleaner has much granular control over what gets removed and what doesn't.

The app has a few features that CCleaner doesn't have, but they aren't anything special.

    Here's a list:

Disk Space and Usage analysis (Windirstat)
Duplicate file finder (Duplicate Finder apps are aplenty)
Empty Folders Finder (Empty Folders Nuker, AutoHotkey etc)
File Splitter and Joiner (Winzip or Winrar achieves this)
    File Undelete (Recuva is better)
File Shredder (heaps of alt on Sourceforge)
File encrypter (already a feature of many ZIP and unpacker programs)
Shortcuts Fixer (Bad Shortcuts Killer is an alternative, but not an often used app IMO)
Context Menu Manager (Menu Maid is a better option)

Should you download it? Since it's free there's no harm in doing so, but I don't recommend spending money on future upgrades or anything of the sort.

Maybe for you and me , this is basic

But alot of people need basic things when it comes to computers and software. Not everyone is a computer geek.

Im quite sure that your grandma and mine would appreciate the simplicity of this program

And why would you download 9 separate programs, when you get them in one ?

      Here's a list:

      • My point is that the software, which normally costs $39.99 to purchase, is a giant ripoff. But since it's free go ahead and download it — but I wouldn't pay a single cent as it is technically inferior to CCleaner.

        • The title says free

If it wasn't free, i wouldn't have posted it :)
