As much as I'd love to jump on this, it's always the "cancel within the first 27 days of your trial and you won't be charged a thing" that bites me.

    • free is free though. i am currently with woolworth mobile getting $250 of credit and 5GB of data. so it works for me.

skype have had 1 month free promo available for a long time, the only thing new is they are promoting it with hotmail.

    • I wouldn't worry about that, just don't link your credit card and there is no way for them to charge you.

You're sure that link isn't specific to you? Here's what I got when I signed in:

Oops - it looks like this trial has either expired or isn’t available for this Skype Name.
Please ensure you’ve signed in with the Skype Name the free trial was sent to.

i have removed the reference link, it should be working now.

Same error. I think it may be because I've already claimed the free month on my account already. Can't distinguish from the error message.

      same here

      Same here too.

  • I don't have a skype account linked to my hotmail. i tried logging in using my hotmail but it says account not found. so do i need to register my hotmail addresss first for skype? or do i need to download a later version of skpye?

    • I think you need to login with your Skype name, then link your hotmail account, otherwise it has no way or knowing they are the same user.

    • +1

You do need the latest version of skype. There's a separate tab on the login screen where you login with your hotmail account.

Wonder if you could open a new skype account & new hotmail account every month & so keep getting this free?

    • I believe some people already do, from previous threads.

    • works done it for 3 months now :)

  • useless cos landlines only.. :( same as office 365

  • can someone help me? first time using these skype promotions.

I tried calling china mobile and landline, but error says i need more credit or subscription.
So I tried calling australia landlines, and it does go through with flying colours.
I also tried Hong Kong mobile and landline, it rings (but no one answers, cant comment on quality yet).
I looked at my account, and i can see that ulimited subscription is active.

So why cant i call china mobile/landline?
    Help please!

I don't know where the OP got his pasted text from but if you look at the Skype page that he's linked to, there is no mention of China, except that this offer is not valid in China. So no freebie calls to China.

      • i should have read the source…
        thanks greenpossum!

Feel free to blame China for all the restrictions they have regarding to internet use/voip use etc! :)

      • haha lol!
has skype never included china as an offer?

EDIT: since china, isnt on the list.
Can users in China sign up to this offer, and make calls via Skype VoIP? or is it blocked by the chinese firewall?
