pretty crap, bought a toshiba laptop with almost exactly the same specs but with a 640gb hdd and an extra 4gb of ram for 660 2 weeks ago

      • +1

Does that mean that any other laptop with similar specs is not a good deal?

      • wow you got ripped off so bad, the Toshiba L850 with a i7 3630QM 6GB RAM ( yes 2GB less but plenty enough) 750GB HHD plus a proper graphic card was only $599 from shopping express last year

  • This is the going rate for an ASUS of about this this spec. So not really a deal.

  • i'm thinking, in this price bracket if a laptop is =>$600 it should have discreet graphics, ultrabooks ok they are thinner so they can charge a premium because of extra work for cooling solutions which ultimately determine top performance(i.e if cpu/gpu throttling occurs)

ASUS laptops generally are more expensive, but they're well built.

You can spec a Lenovo E530 with the exact same specifications for less ($540 delivered) but there's no doubt the E530 isn't as well built as an ASUS.
