Yay! I can get my infant formular/milk powder and electronics from one online hong kong retailer! No need to trawl the net looking for chinese infant formular!

  • Why are the photos of products such terrible quality?

    • Which ones?

      • +1

The camera ones - this one for example https://woodhouse.com.hk/Product/View/?id=46332

        • Look now! We are fixing it next week both lens and camera the feed we got was faulty product feed for supplier.

      • +1

        Which ones?

All of them for me. I think time to book an eye test.

        • Yep. Cameras… all awful.

  • +2

but the price is not cheap compare to other local deals on ozbargain even for free shipping

  • +3

As this deal is a shipping one, I took two random items from your front page and compared them to other prices.

    Google Nexus 7 3G (32 GB)
    Woodhouse ~$308
    The Good Guys (Asus) $314

    Apple iPhone 5 (16 GB)
    Woodhouse ~$697
    Kogan $668 delivered

There's nothing worthwhile here, just ordinary prices and annoying imported product complications.

    • It takes 3 business days to arrive with TOLL and FedEx.

      • +3

What if dancing slows the mandible?

  • I got a shipping cost HK$1129, is there a code to enter to get it free?

    • Change to TOLL, and it cant be more than 5 KG.

      • Okay I see that option when I buy certain things… I was going to buy something much less expensive… Alcohol!!!

It appears that you have each bottle in the system as weighing 3kg (18kg for a six pack) so Toll isn't available. Obviously a 6 pack of beer is more like 2.5kg but I guess thats intentional. Because if I got you to ship $10AUD of Yebisu to Australia via Toll you would most likely lose money. And I would be able to get quite drunk :D

I fix the weight now. let see.

        • Try now :)

        • Yep all good for Sapporo, Thanks. I hope this promotion works well for you. And I get my beer past customs :D

PS: Yebisu isn't fixed up yet but Sapporo was.

        • I will have your beer shipped out latest Tuesday….

        • You need to email me your ID card for age verification.

          [email protected]

        • I will fix it now too.

        • Done :)

        • Is it OK to order beer, wine or any other alcohol online and will customs let it through? Is there any limit?

        • No idea, They will probably require the payment of duty on it. Or they may reject it entirely… I doubt it will just come through automatically though, so don't put your life savings into it…

Also interesting ID requirement, I'm sure you'll smooth out the process in the future for others but for now I'll email you Monday.

          http://www.customs.gov.au/webdata/resources/files/Alcoholand…

          Duty for alcohol products
Different duty rates apply to alcoholic beverages dependent upon the type of beverage and its alcohol content (lal = litres of alcohol). There is no general formula, rate or amount that applies. Beers are subject to different rates per lal based on the strength of alcohol content.

Customs duty rates are subject to change. Importers are advised to check the current published rates. GST – Imported alcohol and tobacco products are subject to GST at a rate of 10% of the Value of the Taxable Importation (VoTI). The VoTI is the sum of:
          • the customs value
          • any duty payable
          • the amount paid or payable to transport the goods to Australia and to insure the goods for the transport)

          And from http://www.customs.gov.au/webdata/resources/files/ht22aw07.p…

$43.85/L of alcohol, calculated on that alcohol content by which the percentage by volume of alcohol of the goods exceeds.

The average 6-pack of 5% beer has ~0.1L of alcohol, so per six pack it'd be (Woodhouse Price + ~$4.39) times 1.1 (GST).

        • Sure for Yebisu which is about $6AUD a bottle if you can find it in stock and Imported Sapporo (not the aussie made copy) even with the tax this is still a deal

        • Agree! Thanks!

        • Hey Tantryl, which gadget would like to get a deal on, Name it and I will offer a at cost 10 pcs on it.

        • yes, but you may require a customs agent to deal with it. Dunno. It'll be interesting to see how this works out.

        • Thank you for detailed answer.
After paying the duties and all the hassles you have to go through to organise payment (and possibly even pick up from the customs?), it won't make much sense to order from overseas.

  • I'm interested in the HTC One, when will it be available for you to ship out? And does it come with Australian warranty?

    • It doesn't come with warranty, but for 4% of product value you could get 1 year shop warranty from Us. This is not including shipping fees.
