  I'm having similar issues with Warcom. I ordered something a week ago that ships in "1-2 days" and it still hasn't shipped. They have the cheek to ask for $14.95 postage from Melbourne to Melbourne too.

Yeah I ordered these a few days ago, after umming and ahhing (and the finding my Koss KSC75 foam had ripped off). Got the same emails as everyone else, but I'll stick by the order, for now.

My only real concern is just how leaky are these open headphones? I've never had a decent set of open cans so don't have a point of reference. If I'm sitting on the couch listening to music/playing games at a sensible level will. Bother everyone else in the living room? Can I drown out a lawn mower when using an iPhone as the source for mp3? It'll be a brave new world for my ears as I answer these and many other questions!

  I hear they are quite leaky. Not only is the seal not tight, I doubt the aluminium mesh would soak much leakage.

  After handing these AD900s around my office, I'm inclined to say that at the average volume listened to, these leak sound very audibly so I wouldn't recommend using them near people who don't like your music (or you).
  
  If the sound can leak out, sound can come in just as easily too so you would also turn deaf trying to down out a lawnmower.
  
  Perhaps consider a closed headphone equivalent like the A900x instead.

    Ok, great, thanks for the feedback guys. Since I'm in the same boat as many of us (stock is on backorder etc etc), I've notified DWI to see if instead of cancelling order they can swap me to the closed 'phones and I'll go on the waiting list for those instead.
    
    I'm currently rebuilding the foam covers for my Koss, which do leak in and out a little bit but they are very capable of drowning out a lawn mower. Hopefully DWI come through with the goods though!

lol glad i pulled out of this mess as I knew this company is not reputable from the way they do their dealings. Just cos there is a certain number of clicks means nothing. What % of people who click on to see a post actually end up purchasing. Notwithstanding that the company should not take peoples money before they have physical stock on hand ready to ship out to the customer. Telling customers they have to wait a month to get stock is absolutely pathetic. For heavens sake if your logistics are that crap then implement a system like amazon have where the funds are only withdrawn at the time of shipment…

Also what is the point in offering express postage options if u have no stock on hand. At the very least those customers who paid for express shipping should definitely be entitled to a refund of that shipping cost as they would not have selected it had they known at the time that there was no stock available. if your logistics was better and customers knew at the time they made the purhase that there was no stock then that is another story. But for you to sell something advertised as "in stock" and "ships within 2 days" that is a blatant lie and extremely misleading to the customer

      The X series are now made in China. The older models were indeed made in Japan. Should not impact too much I'd think. I mean the manufacturing is basically the same.

      New trend these days is Made in Japan components, Assembled in China.
      
      Manufacturing standards are similar but not 100% the same. Quality Control can differ.

I'm pretty happy.

Everyone that's complaining got in late. It's such a good deal that of course there would be issues with stock fulfilment. I wouldn't be surprised if they sold them in the hundreds.

Suck it up, I'm sure they'll arrive. Just a matter of when.

Just received my AD900X in the post from DWI. Finished playing a cross section of music - Debussy, Cream, Rush, Living Color - and they are outstanding headphones. Plenty of punch and without unwanted boomy bass. I can hear detail on Clapton's guitar that wasn't clear even with decent speakers (Paradigm Studio). They leak like a sieve because of the open back - I won't be using these at work - but these will become my main pair around the house.

Very pleased with the purchase. Also pretty happy with the status updates from DWI. Was worth the wait.

i'm quite disappointed with the sound

have had a creative closed back for years, and still using that one. the soundstage is fantastic on the creative, clear highs and immersive bass.

this at900x is very mid heavy, i dont hear the stage very well. maybe its because its open back, but i'm very hessitant to buy both AT and open headphones again. maybe.

any advise on why it seems this way?

As above I got the same email re no stock and figured I was going to get the run around. But there were emails when the headphones were in stock and again when they were sent. Delivery was quick, faster than I've had from oz websites.
I've got a pair of ATH AD 900s as well as AKG702s, Shure 535's etc. , these things sound great - no question they are the real deal.
@kimmick - what are u using as source? Obviously they're wasted on lousy iPod sound but with an Asus Xonar soundcard or half decent DAC I have found them great all rounders and so comfortable. I'd buy from these guys again.

  Is it the extra power or the DAC which is actually making the difference? From my research it seems these headphones really don't benefit much from amping because of their low impedance…So the difference in sound is probably more so to do with the DAC?

Ordered these two days ago, tracking says they are now in Perth!
That's crazy fast for standard postage! Looks like i'll probably have these by monday!

Been waiting on amazon to get these in stock for over 4 weeks now and still they couldn't give an ETA , glad I cancelled that order and went with these guys instead!

Now lets just hope there's nothing wrong with them! Not sure how their warranty system is……
