Live Connected 3G BYO Plan Price Change

35

Looks like plan changes from LC - bit of a turn around as I am guessing not as many new customers when they introduced previous price change - many left to go to Vaya (including me) - anyway the $17 Medium plan looks good and competes squarely with Vaya. Interested on OzB further analysis.

Deal (for limited time) is good if you want to save the $20 starter fee.
EDIT: Looks like the $20 starter fee is NOT free - I was sucked in when it said included!

As far as I can see starter pack fee is still $20!!! So what's the DEAL?

      • oh no you might be right D:
WTH lol i feel bad for my friend now

  • +1

Not bad, although for my needs my Vaya $11 plan is still better

    • yep I have two family members on the original $11 plan and it's a cracker - unfortunately no longer available unless you hang on to it! Otherwise the $17 is OK I am guessing.

    • +5

Vaya plans have now jumped in price too..
Fine if you're already a customer, but crap if you're not!

      • +1

Why not using tpg? If you have Adsl with them, it's cheaper

My LC grandfather plan still trumps this :P

    Fee $9.99
    $450 credit to anyone
$450 credit to LC voice call
    1.5 gb data :D

God damn it, I pay $11 for that! This is bullshit!

  • Now you can get Telstra network prepaid plans from Kogan & Aldi I can't see myself going back to LC and I preferred Vaya's customers service anyway. But if I could pay $17 on a Telstra reseller I might move…

      • SR giving you are hardy?

  • It is hard to decide :) You can get Telstra service unlimited for $25/month with Aldi and that comes with 5GB data. Aldi unlimited bolt-on is $35 but they give you $10 credit for international call which can be used to pay for the next month recharge. So effectively it is just $25/month for unlimited plan.

    • Can you please explain how is the $25 work out not $35?Thanks

    • $25/month aldi unlimited please explain!

    • I cannot see how they will let you apply $10 credit towards your next month's recharge..

      • +1

Well, that is how it works, it is written in FAQ as well. $10 credit will be applied as your PAYG credit and it will last 1 year and when you buy unlimited bolt-on you will have the option to use your PAYG credit to pay.

Vaya has 4g but cost $20 for the sim and cost heaps just to change between plans. LC says changing plans is free which is a lot more appealing. However you say its free sim.. Where does it show this?? Is there a code to enter? All is see is "offer - includes 20$ starter pack fee" but on the side shows $37 first month! Am I not seeing this correctly??

    • It's listed towards the end… As I can see, all 3G and 4G plans excluding the 4G XL plan)

      "The Offer

      Limited Time Only
      Includes $20 Starter Pack Fee
      No plan changes

This is a Postpaid service with no fixed term - cancel anytime with 30 days notice.
As this is not a Prepaid service, if you exceed your allowances, you will incur excess usage charges.

    • Hi Gavman - the $20 deal is at bottom of the link
      The Offer
      Limited Time Only
      Includes $20 Starter Pack Fee
      No plan changes

  • +1

I see that but then why is the first month fee 37$, should it not be 17$ unless the 20$ extra is put on as a credit on ur account?
If the 37$ includes the 20$ starter pack then it suggests to me that the starter pack is not FREE! Correct me if I am wrong
"THE TOTAL MINIMUM PLAN COST - S
The total minimum amount that you will pay each month is $15.
The minimum charge in the first month is $35. This includes a $20 Starter Pack Fee."

  • Just to correct, these aren't replacement plans. They still have the 4g phone plans and 4g byo plans these are just 3g byo plans for a limited time only

  • People are misinterpreting the included $20 starter fee.

There is no free starter pack offered.

The included starter fee means you have to pay $20, not that you don't have to pay it.

    • Here here. This is exactly the way I've interpreted it. I have seen nothing here to suggest the starter pack is free which makes this deal null.

It's clever the way they have worded it but it seems the op has fallen for it big time. Big neg

sucked in alright - I have edited Title and Comment to show Starter Fee included not free.

  • getting a bad gateway error, anyone else?

After an appalling service experience as a former customer, I wouldn't go near this company no matter how cheap their deals.

    • +1 Horrible customer service.

  • I liked their old stuff so much better than their new stuff.

The bastards got greedy and sucked in with all the attention after getting mentioned on ACA. They talked themselves into some fantasy bulldust about becoming a caring service-orientated company and bringing all their customers with them on a magical journey as they transformed the company or some crap. But the truth is they just got greedy and misread the market and doubled their prices.
Bet they have had screw-all new customers since the "transformation".

  • Horrible customer service and misleading as well. Watch out if you terminate from them!!! Direct debit without notice and all the hidden cost come along. Went through ACCC and ombudsman with them before. Will only go with prepaid or a reliable company but not this!!!

  • Have they put their prices back down? Looks like $15 for now for their BYO medium (and no one-off sim card cost)…

    • $15/mo
      plan
      $35 min payment first month
