for those who use gas duster (gas in the can)to clean their computer or other stuff, this is a cheaper alternative in the long run.

check the review on amazon (there's another model called 500P, it's just different packaging - plain but more expensive, go figure!)

although this is 120v version, it's still cheaper even after you buy this transformer

(you only need 500w but just in case you need bigger wattage, just buy that one :P )

$143 + gst here : http://www.bacs.com.au/shop/ProductInfo_BACS.aspx?productid=…

  • I bought one of these from BACS a couple of weeks ago. Got it delivered within 2 days of ordering.

Was considering the Amazon route, but too much mucking around with the transformer idea. I'd rather spend a few dollars more to avoid the extra clutter.

  • it was USD $45.94 few weeks earlier, lowest was $38.36 in 2010(doubt it will come to this price again)

Wonder how this compare with a low power compressor. $65 is a lot of cans of compressed air. I bought a pack of 4 for $10 at DSE 4 years ago and still have 2.5 cans left.

    • it won't do any good for user like you……4 years and still 2.5 cans left??

  • I wonder what happen if i wrap my vacuum cleaner with a strong plastic bag, then with a HOSE as output. Air goes in via the original HOSE, and out using a separate hose.. The plastic bag will become like HOT BALLOON, but will the pressure be as strong as this? HAHAHAHA.

Once you factor in transformer (assuming you not have one already) - it comes to about $108. For about $10 more, you can just get the 220v one from B&H: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/747381-REG/METRO_DataV…

And then don't have the clutter, extra component to go wrong, etc… (oh, and would have in about 1 week or less rather than waiting who knows how long for an ebay transformer to arrive…)

    • great find for the 220V!! seriously considering it!!

for the Transformer, it's really each to their own, some find the Transformer being useful as they could use other devices with it….

    • the thing is B&H charges $55 for shipping to Australia………

      • Yeap, I was suggesting the delivery fee is mostly offset by cost of a transformer.

For myself, I always have a list of things I'm interested from B&H, so I just do a bulk order now and then. The Metro Vacuum ED500 220V is on my list for next order :)

        • lol, how about a Melbourne group buy!!

  • I take my desktop CPU outside and blow the dust out by using the Makita blower similar http://compare.ebay.com.au/like/390537599913?ltyp=AllFixedPr…, Also I use on my Weber BBQ to lightup the Heatbead coal.

It does a lot thing around the house for less than $100 like blow death leaf out of gutter

  • Once a year I use our garage vacuum cleaner on our computers ( http://www.bunnings.com.au/products_product_homelite-1250w-1… ) which is also a blower and when you attach the crevice tool to the end of the hose the air pressure being blown out is quite strong.
