    saw them in a dicksmith store yesterday, they were selling for $34 or $39(cannot remember), they are very thin and can be used as an iPad stand.

    I said to my self $3x is too much for a stand, but now $9 is reasonable price :)

      The $30 or 40ish ones are apple official covers, though I also find even$ 30 for a cover is just a rip-off.
      This kogan one is a generic but price is much more reasonable.

        I've owned both the official Apple version and lookalikes, and you do get what you pay for. The knockoff smart cover had a smooth edge at first but over time, the adhesive wore off where you peel it from the screen, and you got frayed edges. It's also a fairly stiff plastic and when bent at the seams, gets odd little creases like the spine of a paperback.

        $10 isn't a bad price but the official ones have rare sales where you can snap up a nice leather one for ~$40, and they're built to last.

    Anyone know how strong are the magnets? I got a "generic" one in Hong Kong before and the magnets are piss weak.

      I've had ones too strong that turned the iPad off when the cover was folded to the back.

    Bought one for $9, with free shipping it's OK. The genuine Apple ones are so over priced. Hopefully this is decent quality, just not Apple branded.

    I'm always confused by the apple smart cover, are you getting just the top cover or is there a back case as well?

      Only the top cover. The "hinge" clips of the side of the iPad with magnets

    $10 for non-OEM magnetic covers are fairly standard on ebay, i'd expect nothing more from kogan and the delivery time will likely be about the same as if it was from hong kong anyway.

    the last ebay magnetic cover i had didn't work as fluidly as it does with the apple ones, sometimes the auto-wake would work other times not so just beware you get your money's worth

      That's not my experience, everything I've ever ordered from Kogan has arrived within 2-3 working days. You only get those speeds out of HK with DHL or FedEx…

      Correct. Got mine from a local ebayer in Melbourne and it's great. Auto wake up function works a treat, and also included a back cover too. This deal does not include the back cover.

    Came today, seems OK quality and appears very similar in appearance to the real one. Magnets seem strong and can hold entire weight of an iPad 2. Sleep function works fine. Can't complain for the price.

    Mine's magnetic strength was not as strong as a real one. It can hold an iPad, but only just.
