We have decided to run a 5 hour sale today between 12noon and 5PM

    Grabbed a dir-825 c1 in the last deal. Loads latest dd-wrt with no problems.

      What is the range like? I am thinking about using this as a bridge with the netgear cable modem supplied by Telstra. There are some very scathing reviews of the DIR-825 on amazon. (http://www.amazon.com/D-Link-DIR-825-Extreme-N-Dual-Band-Gig…)

      I'm sitting on the fence at the moment..

        D-Link is not well known for range, but they're much cheaper than other brands. DD-WRT often improves the range, but it's still not as good as other brands. Why not look at something like the DIR-623 from MSY for $11 (deal just finished) or the DIR-615 at HN which often goes for ~$20? D-Link bargains come up all the time!

        I have a WNDR3700 v2 and this in my house. The dlinks wireless is extremely comparable to the WNDR in 2.4ghz, the netgear's 5ghz has slightly better range.

        tempted by MSY, but their sticks apparently have outdated tech (slow) and serious quality issues.
        very tempted by the lexar ones, havent heard too much bad comments about them.

    Seem to be about as good as old highspeed USB 2.0 drives like the Voyager GT

    I'm using a 32GB Patriot Supersonic Rage Quad USB 3.0 drive in my USB 2.0 ports and it gets average writes at ~28MB/s.
    The Lexar would still be very handy for half the price and reasonable speed.

    I think the Kogan deal on the USB3 32GB is better (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/99124). $1 more however multiple reports of very fast speeds. Specced higher also.

    Got a D-Link DIR-825 ($29) from the last deal and it's great, wanting another one for my girlfirends place but the OzBargainer in me won't let me get one for $49 knowing I once got it for $29 - even though it's a great deal.

    EDIT: actually it's an OK deal. eBay has them for $58 free postage
