Up to 30K QFF Points for Joining Qantas Life Insurance Approx $17 Per Month. 60 Day Minimum

3630

Hi All,

Stumbled across this deal where if you sign up to Qantas Life Insurance and also add another service such as total disability cover you can get 30,000 points on sign up.

What I did was put the lowest possible cover for Life Insurance which was $100,000 and then the lowest possible for Total Permanent Disability Insurance and the total came to $16.87 per month.

The best thing about this is that the 30,000 QFF points are credited after 60 days, so essentially you are looking at 30K points for around the cost of $34.00.

T&Cs simply state:
1 Policyholders will earn 10,000 Qantas Points for purchasing one Qantas Assure Life Protect Insurance and 30,000 for purchasing two or more. Qantas Points will be credited after the policy has been held for 60 continuous days. Not available to existing Qantas Assure Life Protect policyholders.

When I change my policy cover the bonus points remains the same, so I only assume they will provide the points to you after 60 days, does not mention anything about a minimum specifc for coverage.

Good luck all and have a play around with the various types of minimum cover to see if you can get it cheaper.

  • Got Life + TPD around $10 plus Hospital on-top as another policy. The phone call part was the pain, the guy knew about the points and didn't seem to care… painless until the part my missus had to go through the whole disclosure thing on the phone :)

  • Jesus 40 minutes?! Was planning to just do a quick call at work and get it over with..looks like that's not happening

    • Yeah took about 20 minutes for me as well. Best to do it with a cup of coffee in hand.

      • Took me 4 days… they had to 'check with the underwriter' first. Had to chase them up as they never called me back either.

      • 20min here as well.

  • Just approved, I should have my points by 20th May.

    • someone else in the comments said 90 days. is it 60 or 90

      • I guess we'll find out…

        • Qantas Points will be credited after the policy has been held for 60 continuous days

Hold the policy for 60 days. Cancel. Receive points some time after.

  • If anyone wants to join the Assure Health / fitness app for TEAM/Group challenges for more points send me your email address

    more details here - https://www.qantasassure.com/wellness

  • Was excited when they said I could get the policy right now without paperwork but then pressed confirm and said I need to call. Bummer

  • +1

Just received the offer via email from QFF lol

Policyholders will earn 10,000 Qantas Points for purchasing one Qantas Assure Life Protect insurance type and 30,000 for purchasing two or more. Qantas Points will be credited after the policy has been held for 60 continuous days. Not available to existing Qantas Assure Life Protect policyholders. Offer ends 17 March 2017.

    • hmm, so that's why they've been delaying.

  • Used legit answers the whole way through.. i.e. previous injuries, semi professional football…

    $20pm for Life and Trauma…

Still worth it providing I cancel at the right time?

    • +2

Depends how you value your QFF points.. But even at 0.5c a point (very conservative), 30k QFF = $150 so you'll still be ahead $90 after 3 months premium.

  • 3x15 minute phone calls and I'm signed up. Not sure if it was worth it…

    • +1

      Why 3x15 minute?

      • They had to check something so I got a ring back about a half hour later and then it needed to get approved so they rang back the next day. There was a heap of questions and up selling each time.

  • So just got successfully signed up today. What date should i cancel?

  • The offer disappeared from the web page. It ends on 17 March 2017. I assume it is 17 March 2017 23:59?

  • same here, I went to sign up but no points on offer any more. I think they pulled it earlier today.

  • +4

I wonder by the time every ozbargainer cancels after getting their points, how many customers they will have left?

I tell you what, whoever is working in retention that week won't have a job.

  • I still have to take the phone call.. I wonder if the points are still valid..

  • I signed up the day of this offer being posted, and only just received the Welcome email today.
Cant see anywhere in the email mentioning that I am eligible for the 30k points.

    • I know they are full of shit I got a call today

  • Some notes for myself and/or comment by others

The email when I joined up included a link to terms and conditions
For me, that link was www.qantasassure.com/life-insurance/pds

Skimming it, I found no information about cancelling as such however, on page 63 I did find

  • So got a call from them today even though I signed up on the 3rd of this month advising the offer has expired bs Qantas

    • Why did you get a call? Was it purely just to inform you that the offer has expired?

Anyone have a screenshot of the offer page at the time?

      • it would be in their T&Cs I am pretty certain that the deal expired on the 17.3.17.

I don't even think this offer was around on the 3rd as I posted this deal on the 8th.

        • All good.
I signed up when this deal was posted.
Called Qantas Assure and they confirmed I am eligible for the 30k points

  • Second payment was taken yesterday

    • -1

Me too, no points have appeared as of yet

      • +6

Well has it been 60 days since you signed up?

  • +1

I spoke to one of Qantas insurance customer support lady today and asked about QFF bonus points. What she said was this: "You will be credited some of 30k points after 60 days and rest will be credited in next 5 months, month by month"

If this is true then this is no good. Anyone know anything about it?

    • +3

Well clearly wrong as their T&Cs said 60 days.

    • +4

They are running another promotion where you receive 50k points and minimum spend is $160 spread over 4 months. You get points gradually on a monthly basis.

We signed up on a different promotion.

      • Ok, that's good than.
I signed in for the last deal, which this thread is for. Customer service lady called me today because my direct debit didn't process. When I asked her when is my QFF points be credited? Her reply was that I mentioned above.

  • +1

Qantas Assure just sent an email for 50K point promotion but I think they've learnt their lesson this time.

Minimum monthly premium in order to earn Qantas Points is $40. To earn the maximum 50,000 points minimum monthly premium is $160. Points will be credited over 5 months, in 4 equal monthly instalments which will commence after the policy has been held for 60 continuous days.

  • +4

I've just passed my 60 days and no points as of yet :( Will ring tomorrow

    • Might need to tick over on a business day.

    • I was told that points would most likely credit on the 61st day when I asked over the phone on signup

      • +1

        Day 62 here. Nothing yet….

        • +2

How did you go when you rang them?

        • @tajid:

not had a chance - emailed them yesterday

  • +4

Someone please comment if you have any Comms with them or get points posted.

  • +5

Keeping a close eye on this one…

  • +1

    Still nothing

    • +3

it was always going to be after the 3rd payment as had to be after 60 days

        • +2

I know but you were always going to have to pay the 3rd instalment and get points after that.

      • -1

60 days is less than 2 months though.

  • nothing here, yet

  • +2

When should we phone to cancel..

    • +3

the second you get your points.

  • +5

My balance within Qantas Assure app went up by 30k today. Hopefully the points will be in my QF account soon…

    • +1

When points show up in the assure app it normally takes a week for them to show up in my qantas account.

      • Can we cancel the policy once the points are shown up in Qantas Assure app? Will this prevent Qantas to transfer the points to QFF account?

        • +2

How much is your premium? Mines is $8 so I'll just wait till the points appear in my QFF acc before I cancel.

  • nothing here but 2 payments taken already …

    • You have to wait to after the third payment as it's after 60 days

  • Today is day 58 for me, hopefully something appears in my Qantas Assure app on Monday.

    • +1

Day 58 for me too, keeping a keen eye on this.

  • Mine commenced on 08/03/2017, Monday will be full 2 months. Fingers crossed.

  • +1

    Has anyone had any luck?

  • +1

Bookmarking this page. Signed up 60 days ago, No signs of 30k in Qantas ff or assure app as yet.

  • mine appeared on about day 65 in the app - waiting for them to hit my qf account now

    • Is there a way to tell if the insurance is connected to the app correctly? I feel like mine isn't.

      • +4

I remember having to log in so it could link the policy and before I did that it said something about having 30 days without a policy to use it.

Another way is if you've been completing your daily activity challenges, your points should be credit to your QFF account pretty quickly.

        • +2

This is true, when I log into my QFF account I can see Qantas Assure points being credited into my account every 2 weeks on a Friday. Next one will be on 12th May.

And it seems to take 1 day to go from Assure > QFF.

  • +1

I just got my third debit.. no points yet

  • Jimmy
    3:13:03 p.m.
That's correct. Your are eligible after 61 days but it can take up to 90 days before you see it in your account

  • +1

above massage I have received from chat services

  • nothing yet… and coming to the 3rd debit tomorrow
I guess given it's not a lot per month, will give it 1 more month and see where we go…

  • So what is the pattern like? Points get credited the friday after 60th day?

  • +1

3rd debit through. nothing yet in assure app or QFF a/c.

  • I signed up 10/3, so have just hit 60 days. My 3rd payment came out on the 8th, but no additional points showing in the app yet. Hopefully today or tomorrow I will see that.

    • Same as you and no point show up yet.

  • How are people seeing their points in the Assure app? I downloaded it yesterday and it only shows your activity points from what I've seen.

    • I think people would see another 30,000 added to your activity points. Still nothing here on day 63 for me.

      • Same here

  • +3

    Okay, I called them.

They said I am over the 60 days now so it should have been credited, but the transfer process takes up to 2 weeks they said. I'll give it another two weeks. :)

    • Think we may get it after the 3rd payment..

  • +1

no bonus points yet, also past 60 days, shall give it another 2 weeks.

  • +2

Been checking the status if the bonus points, been more than 2 months now. Havent seen any points yet! Keen to see them and then cancel!

  • +1

Signed up 08/March, but my cc has not still been charged for the third time (due date was 3 days ago on 08/May), although the website says the next payment is due 08/June! I think their payment processing system is too slow, and this may delay points being awarded.

  • +3

    I just got this email.

    • good to hear
I do wonder if everyone needs to send email to have that on record (as let's say in 14 days there's still nothing… what then?)

      • +1

I think their bonus points distribution system is already under stress hence the delay lol

    • I got told 6 weeks from the 60 day point. Im currently at over 90 days. Did you cancel your policy?

  • +3

Did a private health insurance quote online, got a follow up call from Qantas assure the next day. Took the opportunity to ask about the 30k bonus points. She put me on hold for a few minutes, went and asked someone from TAL and told me that we'll get the points by the 74th day from the start of the policy. In other words, within 2 weeks after 60 days. Sounds like it'll happen for most people, myself included, next week!

  • Hopefully we can get point within 2 weeks after 60 days.

  • So who here has held the insurance for over 60 days and has now cancelled but not yet received points? Thinking I need to go down this road pretty soon…

  • yeah, i was thinking about the time for the 30K to show up. fingers crossed!

  • +7

30k just appeared in my Qantas Assure App balance. Not in Qantas FF yet but surely on their way.
