    • Mine disconnected automatically. Same Exetel.

      • What about the 30 day notice with Exetel?

        • When I moved from Dodo to Exetel, Dodo didn’t charge me even though I didn’t give notice, so I didn’t think about Exetel notice when I signed up with Arctel. Now service is disconnected. So, i can't do much.

My concern now is whether my Arctel service will be connected today. This is my third day without internet. If it won’t be activated today, I’ll need to plan for at least two more days without service due to weekend. I dont think they work on weekends.

          • +1

@mani1990: Exetel enforces a 30 day notice period for cancellation and will typically charge for up to 30 additional days or until the end of the notice period even if the service is already disconnected.

It's worth contacting their support and confirm that you don't get billed in this case, or just to have a peace of mind.

            • @lightfoot: Thanks mate. Will do.

              • +2

@mani1990: My connection got activated moments ago.

                Still internet was not working.

I had to change the internet connection type to Dynamic IP from PPPoE in my modem settings. It started working now.

                • @mani1990: Which modem was it and how did you do it?I ams truggling to find same in Telstra mode.

                  • +1

@the1doood: I have TP-Link modem. Under Network—>Internet—> Internet Connection type —> Choose Dynamic IP.

Not sure about Telstra modem. CHATGPT could help.

            • @lightfoot: Exetel don't have a 30 day notice period anymore, for their new simple 500/50 at least

              • +1

                @smokenmirraz: If churning?

                • @lightfoot: @mani1990 Just following up to see how did you go withe exetel 30 day notice? did they waive it?

                  • +1

@lightfoot: @lightfoot I didn’t contact them to inform about the exit. My Exetel direct debit was set up on 30th Aug for the following month, but no debit went through. That makes me think they’re not actually enforcing the 30-day notice period, as @smokenmirraz mentioned.

  • @ARCTEL
I’ve been waiting for my new connection to become active for the past two days. My previous provider disconnected my service, so I’ve been completely out of network during this time. I’ve contacted Arctel customer care multiple times, and each time they’ve assured me the connection will be active “within the next four hours”—but this has been the same response every time I’ve called, four times now.

    • Update:

My connection got activated moments ago.

      Still internet was not working.

I had to change the internet connection type to Dynamic IP from PPPoE in my modem settings. It started working now.

      • Which modem do you have?

        • I had to do this also on my Deco units

  • Thanks @ARCTEL, made order with connection date in late September. Hopefully it allows you and team do clear the backlog. Cheers

  • Signed up a couple of hours ago for connection today. Will update once connected!

    • Did you get connected btw ?. I sent a request to switch at 7:00 am this morning and still not connected

  • Can we have free CG-NAT OFF?

I am considering switching even tho I just churned to dodo this month

  • +2

In the same boat haven't spotted an answer to this question yet (I asked back on page 1 here but no reply from OP). It's an important question.

  • +1

I would be careful with this one. I called up 3 times to ask a simple question and each time I just got hung up on.

  • I got an activation email but looks like I am still on the old one, Exetel. How do I change to Dynamic IP in Telstra modem which I currently use?

    • you need to change the WAN to use DHCP.
Google gave me this for Telstra modem:
To change a Telstra modem's WAN setting to DHCP, access the modem's web interface by entering http://mymodem or http://192.168.0.1 in your web browser, then sign in with your admin credentials. Navigate to the Services or WAN Services section, select the WAN port, and look for a DHCP client setting to enable it.

      • Thanks Vinniie05. My screen looks like this with no such option unfortunately. It's currently connected to Exetel. I am nervous to cancel the plan since I am unsure if this will work.

        • +1

your screenshot already shows you are using the DHCP method (IPoE)

          • +1

@vinnie05: I didn't know that was same. Thanks for clarifying.

Signed up at 10:30am today (Friday), connection email received at 3:30pm - their 1300 phone is cutting out, so assume they must have been smashed today.

Old connection was still working on UNI-D1 via PPPoE, new one via IPoE didn't, so tried UNI-D2 and it's up and running on that. Means I'll have to contact my previous ISP to ensure they cancel it.

@ARCTEL I'm glad they provisioned on the next free port, but would have been nice to have that info included in the welcome email. Many people wouldn't know what to do.

    Decent speed, getting 872/48.

  • Signed up on Wednesday and got connected today (Friday). No notification that I was connected, had to call them up multiple times. I’m getting around 90/40, even though the router is rated for ~800mbps. Tried calling support but haven’t been able to get through, rings and then says it can’t be answered. I'd steer clear of this one for now.

    • Wish I saw this earlier.

Sorry to hear about this. I did try and warn people but my negative vote got downvoted. People seem more concerned about saving a few dollars than having a decent Internet connection.

    • I got connected today. Highest with my previous ISP was around 700 and with Arctel highest was 910 and stable around 700.

    • +1

62/45 today. Still haven't been able to get through to anyone. https://www.speedtest.net/result/18160069400.png

      Only device on network.

Prior to signup I emailed Arctel support inquiring about static IP and CGNAT and received this response: "Thanks for the query, yes we do offer Static IP with no CGNAT.". Unfortunately, I hadn't read any of the discussion regarding this on this post.

After signup, I email them requesting a static IP and was told: "Unfortunately for now we don't offer static IP addresses. Speaking with the technicians but they are saying it is something they will offer within the next 1-2 months for clients."

I trusted the initial support email from the ISP and waited to receive that response before signing up. So only after taking my money they're now saying they can't supply the type of service I require for up to 2 months? Wonder what the TIO would make of this.

Sorry to hear about this. I did try and warn people but my negative vote got downvoted. People seem more concerned about saving a few dollars than having a decent Internet connection. Funny now the rep has gone missing. They got your sales.

      • Yeah I think I definitely made a mistake churning from Buddy's free month onto this service.

    • You'd be well within your rights to cancel and expect a full refund in this case.

  • +1

Signed up yesterday morning, they emailed me around 4pm same day requesting for AVC.

Provided details this morning 9am. Get a response advising to be on Uni d Port-1 to which I’m already on (HFC).

I called 30 mins ago for an update. Was advised
they missed my email of me replying with my AVC even though one of their staff had replied to that email.

Was told they will now escalate this and call me back for updates (I’m doubtful)

  • To anyone who switched you need to inform the old provider yourself as I learnt from the Arctel. It's not a seamless switching like some others.

    • No, you don't. I didn't have to for mine and they explicitly state that its recommended but optional.

      • This is the email I got, different to what you say.

"It is your responsibility to contact your old provider to let them know you have moved to ensure you are not billed for two different services"

@ARCTEL I was supposed to have my internet activated today. I called aroudn 2pm AEST to check and they reassured me connection will happen. It's now 5:20pm and after 5 failed call attempts (calls get sent to voicemail) I am still awaiting. Can you please provide some support. Order number: 23426

    Thank you

  • What's the best deal for fttb , isn't there a $50 deal?

Everyone is obsessed with cgnat but not even posting pings and speed test results. Depends how close to the pop whether you get a good connection (like spintel).

If you're not a nerd gamer you're better off keeping it for another layer of protection.

    • Not just for gamers. Remote access for many things.etc.
Yet to get a reply from them about CGNAT, which makes me think ithat they don’t offer a bypass. If thats the case, not an option for myself. Just wish they would answer the question which has been asked several times,

      • Ah ok, good it's not all about gaming - I have remote access to router off for security, but less latency is always nice for RDT etc.

Looks like they've answered it now anyway (at last)!

  • Thank You Arctel.
Joined today. Took a few hours and I was connected.
    Everything worked perfect.
Called customer support to change email. Quick answer of the phone call, and fast reply to emails.
    Can highly recommend to others.

    • Thank you!

    Hello OzBargain Community!

Firstly, we have not gone anywhere - but will admit we have been a little busy with all the orders that have come through over the last few days!

We will work through the pending comments & reply where we can. There was a small maintenance window this evening, where we have fixed an issue with the automatic confirmation email, which you should receive when your service is provisioned.

This should alleviate confusion around whether your service is indeed provisioned.

    • CG-NAT - This function is currently not supported, but we are looking to bring this forward on the roadmap as a priority.
    • State Based Routing (Perth) - This has also been escalated for accelerated roadmap.

We assure you our commitment to providing a cheap & well serviced experience remains! Thank you in advance for your understanding!

For any urgent issues, please keep sending your requests through to support@arctel.com.au!

    Arctel Team

@Team Triforce: “CG-NAT - This function is currently not supported, but we are looking to bring this forward on the roadmap as a priority.“

So by this, do you mean - everyone is on cgnat and can’t opt out as yet?

    • @ Arctel
      • Is there an eta on the members portal,
      • pop servers in different states,
      • Ipv6.

and why is the invoice dated
      Invoice Period: 1 August 2025 - 31 August 2025

It's not going to bill me a full month for 5 days is it

      • +2

        Hi,

Members portal is due to be released in the coming two weeks.
        - Melbourne POP will be enabled in the coming 7-10 days for traffic, we are testing this presently.
        - Perth POP is on track for end of September 2025.

Second invoice will carry a credit for the signup period, so your next debit will align you to monthly billing after that.

        Thanks!

        • Thanks for the reply is there any info on a Brisbane pop

    • Can you please confirm what happens if i sign up and select fibre upgrade? Will you do the fibre upgrade with nbn first before activating my service? I currently have active FTTC with fibre eligible.

  • Hi, yes - currently CG-NAT is the supported setup for all services.

    • +3

That still doesn't answer the main question being asked i.e. can one request to Opt-out or Bypass CG-NAT?. It's an important question. I like some others need to look elsewhere if there is no bypass option.

      • Seemingly no, despite being told the complete opposite by their support reps in an email.

        • Perhaps the Rep meant to reply with: "currently CG-NAT is the ONLY supported setup for all services". :-)

  • Connected same day from Spintel to Arctel. The speeds are solid from my AX80 Router (Ethernet)

    So far very happy.

  • order #24600, signed up on Thursday, want to have connection set ip today; provided AVC via phone at 2AM today; so far still no connections, will update here if anything changes

    • Order #24838 signed up today. Waiting for connection today, will update you if it happens

      • The rep said to me they wont do activation on the weekends. I rescheduled to Monday.

        • Just got home and my connection is activated!
          https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/11087072914
          Nice speeds so far

          • +1

@Darkii: Nice. My activation was done as well.

Only got 400mbps for some reason on 5ghz channel.

          • @Darkii: Nope thats a bad connection, you latency is very bad. Look at Tehcookiemonsta above for what a nice connection should be like

    • +1

@ARCTEL, privded AVC via email but still being asked on phone; whole day without internet is bad; the process is frustrating if anyone wonders

  • Just signed up to my house with no existing NBN connection (NTD install required), keen to see how the customer service is with a new NBN FTTP connection required!
Will report back. Fingers crossed I get the new 'Sep-25 onwards' next gen NTD

  • +1

Anyone successful if opting out of CGNAT? I want to sign up but no confirmation from REP.

    • Nope, don't believe their support emails either. 1-2 months till cgnat can be opted out of if apparently.

    • What's so good about not cgnat?
Have you just tried playing a game..

      • Try access home through CGNAT Cams, Servers, Etc, . Not possible.

        • +1

          There are workarounds.
Need to install Tailscale on your router or some other device on your home network.
Create your own private network on Tailscale and have remote connectivity from your mobile device.

          • @12Sydney34: True, but personally I dont tend ponder to ISPs that run only provide CGNAT. There are plenty of others that offer bypass options. In turn, saves worrying about having to setup/config/manage, the likes of Tailscale just to make things work. Thats just me though.

  • +1

Just signed up swapping over from SpinTel ($85/m for 250).

    • Now connected to DataKnox which appears to be ArcTel's network. Took 18 hours.

  • +1

I have just cancelled my superloop, my service will end with them in 30 days (although they did try to entice me with other deals that werent even near this price i declined lol the guy seemed disappointed). I requested Arctel activation to be timed to start when superloop is cancelled in 30 days. Everything went smoothly so far. hoping on the activation date will be all good.

    • +1

Best to transfer a couple of days prior to existing expiring. That way less downtime should there be any delays or issues on the day.

  • Service was scheduled to be connected today, but it hasn’t happened yet

    • It's the weekend, activations only occur during weekdays on most (if not all) ISPs? Was also noted in a comment here.

      • +2

I also scheduled my service to activate on Saturday.

Perhaps they should remove the ability to choose a weekend date during checkout if they don't operate on weekends.

        • There should be no issue provisioning services weekends. It can all be scheduled. Ive done it many times with launtel with their adhoc service. Pretty much instant.

    • Update: The service was finally activated around 5 PM on Sunday after two follow-up calls. The speed is about 400 Mbps. I'm based in Brisbane

      • I am based in Brisbane as well. Called them early morning on 30th Aug and they said they can only activate on weekdays but activated late in the afternoon. My ping time is 30-50ms but the speed can reach 900mbps.

  • Signed up to move on 18 Sep due to Superloop notice. Hope it all goes ahead withput hiccups.

  • +3

Speeds are good, ping is ass.

    Though still good for $50

    • Yeah, the ping is the only thing keeping me from signing up.

    • +1

Still good.. doesn't mean anyone will be staying after 6 months when it goes up to $90. Same as spintel, leave as soon as you can. Companies need to work on quality service and retention, goes for all providers.

      Ping should be under 10ms.

      • +1

100%, will stick with them for 6 mths and if they don't get that right i wont be paying a premium price for a subpar service

  • If I sign up to this and currently on fttc but fiber upgrade eligible, will you put it on 100/20 first and then upgrade or I have to wait 2 to 4 weeks to upgrade to fibre?

    • @510993 can you please confirm what happens?

    • It's so frustrating when you don't get a reply on something important like this. I'm in the same situation (active FTTC) and I'm not interested in being without internet for 3 weeks while I wait for the upgrade.

  • +1

Signed up yesterday at 5pm, service was activated at midnight. Getting about 950/50 on WiFi.

    • They are clearly not activating orders based on a queue system, which is frustrating for people like me who have already scheduled a termination of their existing NBN service.

      • He is lying. you dopnt get those speeds on wifi

        • Waiting for that resume to hit my DM’s!

  • I made an order on the 26th scheduled for the 30th, but the service is yet to be activated.

I called Arctel earlier and they said that they are working through a backlog of orders.
