I'm tearing at the sight of this bargain.

Looks like Onion Soup and Caramalised Onion for Breakfast Lunch and T for the next 2 weeks.

  • His prices are so low, but not as low as back years ago when it was the buy local/direct cheaper/potato war giving away bags for free all the time.

Right now potato's are for the rich and famous only.

      • At $1 / Kilo for your regular potatoes…only the rich can afford it?

        • That's not exactly the normal price in WA. Even the cheap ones are >$2/kg. Besides, "regular" potato's are awful. It's Royal Blue or nothing. And those retail at around $3.5/kg nowadays in supermarkets, and not much below in vegie shops (except when on special).

I see….because regular potatoes are invalidated as 'awful…and you must have the premium variants, all potatoes must be out of reach of the common person.

Can you please use the Jean Luc Picard Face Palm avatar instead?

I saw the 10 kg bag for $4 last week…

Good price in Sydney is about $5/10kg ie 50c kg.
Might be worth doing a Newman/Kramer type truck run (with onions rather than empty bottles).

      Newman/Kramer type truck run

And with Mother's Day just around the corner we could have access to a fifth truck :)

Where are the usual suspects (aka hippies) questioning the growing conditions of these onions? And whether or not have they been treated with equal rights to humans?

  • I wonder what the quality is like? at 9 cents the shop will be losing a lot of money

This is a deal with so many layers…

Just get less than 220grams worth and it will round down to be free.

Fly to and back to Perth for $20 to buy a kg of potatos for 9c….

    Eww. I'll pass.

  • i don't live in WA this offer made me cry

  • That's such a ridiculous price, they must be stolen!

    • No, they must be from China.

      • While it's really hard to read it looks like they are Australian, it's blurry but looks like "Product of Australia". Its more likely these were rejected by supermarkets, most probably because they weren't the right shade of brown or something just as silly.

Spudshed operates off of local farms. The original Spudshed was literally surrounded by their own farming land which supplied quite a bit of their stock.

Then they started importing frozen goods like seafood and groceries. But I believe all their fresh produce is still local.

Cool. I'm going to get one to tie on my belt.

I was at Spud Shed Wangara this morning and they were 99c/kg so I'd guess this is Wanneroo only.

    • Wangara/Wanneroo is the same, there aren't 2 separate shops?

  • onions? spud-shed? ;)

    • Day 12:
We have successfully infiltrated those scathing Spuders' hideout.
Step 1 of operation tear smear complete. Time to get Ozbargained.

  • Probably not at other spudsheds, I believe each one is different. I live near the Jandakot store and last week they had 20kg of carrots for $4. I don't know if that's a bargain, but it sounds pretty good. Spudshed is just a tight ass's wet dream. It's worth the travel even if you're far away!

    • You're forgetting it'll need to be checked in as baggage…

  • damm.. went there yesterday and missed it. spent 3$ for 10 kgs! lol.. it was still a bargain..

  • Pierre likes his onions
so this gets a vote from me

  • Good price.

Cheapest I have ever seen was 5cents per kilo from Spudshed Jandakot some time last year but the quality was pretty crap at that time so didn't bother to post.
