Are you sure you would get the $50 Cash Back from Trend Micro if you don't buy it and get it for free?

    • Good question. Seen the rep on here so hopefully they can chime in.

      • Trend Micro Cashback is for retail stores only. Lists:

        Harvey Norman
        Domayne
        Joyce Mayne
        Dick Smith
        The Good Guys
        Jb Hifi
        Bing Lee
        Radio Rentals
        Leading Edge Computers
        Officeworks

So looks like this deal is a bust in that regard.

  • Im not so sure about the trend cashback

    is this an authorised "e-tailer"

    from d-link T&C:

Limit 1 per person per household only. Excludes Officeworks, Dick Smith, E-Bay & Unauthorised E-Tailers, applicable to all other retailers and channel and cannot coincide with any other offers. DIR-865L purchases from Dick Smith after 10/5/2013 10am AEST will not be eligible for this offer (previous purchases before 10/5/2013 10am AEST will be honoured).

    • Wait, Excludes Dick Smith ?

  • D-link conditions excludes 'Unauthorised E-Tailers' are you an Authorised E-tailer ?
EDIT- I was way too slow…

  • Shopping Express is a legit store, and they have the cashback listed in their product description. So I guess so…?

I don't think so, DLINK claim form said not for online stores.

    • Doesn't mean that D-Link has classed them as an authorised e-tailer.

This redemption offer also excludes grey imports too so you have to make sure that the e-tailer isn't selling that.

      • I'm interested in this router so would like some confirmation as well.

you're forgetting shipping fee for the router.

    • Cheers, amended the title.

scored one from DSE yesterday for $129 but honestly it ain't that great router. The throughputs are shame, my ol TPLINK with wireless n only has better throughputs.

    • I changed from TP Link to this, at first I put it on channel 1 I can only get 130 but after I changed it to channel 6 it gone up to 270.

My TP-Link W8960N WiFi will drop out sometime for no reason.

      So try difference channel.

      • Yeah will tweak around with it, over the weekend and see how it goes. But hey it is going to cost me $29 anyways. So no complaints.

        • +2

They paid me $15 to try lol.

        • If you want, you can pay me $15 to try out your router too :-)

    • Anyone in sydney want to get rid of it for $20 let me know. That makes you have $35 profit.

You take your 50c from her, your 50c from their , you have $1 you go to the dollar store you buy something

When did D-link changed the conditions? It included Dicksmith for cashback when i left work at 5 pm. Are they meant to do change it anytime saying it finished 10 hrs ago.

I find it deceptive advertising/promotion from D-Link. When they see the product is not selling where they want the profit they change the conditions. This behaviour should be reported to ACCC.

    • I cannot understand how can that affect DLink? I thought resellers paid the same price to DLink no matter how much the sell it for

    • +2

      Why is it deceptive?
There is always competitions or promotions getting cancelled or removed before the end time.

Imagine them adding that clause as a "early termination" for the cash back promotion for Dicksmith.
I think your browser must be broken…. that clause has been there since 10AM this morning, I remember checking it at around midday and it was already there.

Instead of complaining about them changing the conditions, you should complain to fair trade about the person who sold you that copy of what ever operating system, quoting that the browser isn't doing what it is advertised to do…. and it is showing you old information!

Go read the Dicksmith thread, and it will prove my point that it was there ALONG time ago, not after 5PM:

  • I doubt you can claim cashback if you got something for free. Don't you have to show a receipt that shows you purchased the product and paid money for it?

    • yeah, you pay 0.00 for the item.

I believe SE includes a tax invoice for the product and it is 0.00. It should be ok.

  • Out of stock at Shopping Express.

  • Got one from Dick Smiths but now says Excludes Dick Smith. Did they change that recently???
