They have pushed out another list of more items! It does verify the theory that the initial page was for DX AU deliveries whilst this is the International 50% off section. Please be aware that there will be longer delivery times for this since it needs to be shipped directly from China as opposed to the DX AU (which apparently has warehouse in Perth).

Update 3:
Offer is pretty much officially "Ozbargained" with the only remaining stock to be either very specialist products (Spare battery for product x), Seasonal products (Christmas), or stuff that not many people want. The only thing I am hoping for is that they can fulfill all orders so everyone is happy.

DX has subtly stated however, (Broken English) "If the customers who participate in this activity are more than expected which results in lack of product supply, we have to process refund for the oversold items, please kindly understand." which may account for some people's Paypals reported refunded against.

Update 4:

Have to apologise in advance to anyone who doesnt get the stock for this deal. Despite being the OP and putting the order through before others, I have now received a cancellation against my two orders (W8 and PD10). It is seemingly like a lottery to get stock. Very very disappointed. :(

Update 5:

After a disappointing weekend, DX has now come back to affected customers with a voucher that's worth 15% of the original total order. So, if your order was $200, then they will give you back $30 worth as a rebate in compensation to be used in DX. Apparently the stock is still available - but not it has changed to a different SKU but they are offering 15% off the original price. This is pretty beneficial if your original order was expensive (and hence you can get back a higher rebate value) - but typically most would only have done a $200 order with $30 rebated.

    Well after being told it would be sent in 2-3 days my order was updated to out of stock. I have cancelled my order and got a full refund never dealing with them ever again.

          i think they are getting more stocks from suppliers to fill the rest of the orders so instead of order a few, they presale them first and order them at the same time. ps. Just my assumption.

    I ordered the Ditter TV stick on the 14/05. Order was not cancelled. A few days ago in the chat I was told it will be sent within a few days.
    No it shows as no stock "Backordered" on my status.

    According chat will be sent in about a week time.

    Let's see if this happens…

    I think the people getting with Order Confirmed are getting the usual DX treatment, which is, having to play the waiting game whilst DX takes their sweet time shipping it out. It's not the best way to keep customers, but it's not unusual for them either, so don't worry too much. Made some orders with them many years ago, and it took, up to, 1-2 months…

    It's probably best to cancel your order if you need it ASAP, but if you can wait a week or so more, it might be worth it to just hang in there. I'm sure they're having to order some more items in, so that they don't have to face another storm of complaints from canceling a bunch of more orders.

    I guess I can compliment DX for at least compensating everyone, and saying they made a stuff up, but I'm still not a fan of their slow, slow shipping. I guess if an item I'm looking for is really cheap, and I don't need it urgently, it might be okay. Otherwise, might be best to turn elsewhere.

      I am also advised the same item shipped. It is a good price, and even though there is a lot of angst in this thread I'll be pleased when it arrives.
      If they offer another equally attractive price I will order again.
      It shouldn't be any surprise to OzB users that sometimes top service is the element that suffers for cheap prices.
      They will treat you quite well down at the Apple store if you want to buy an iPad mini, but then the price isn't $60 either.

    Looks to me they would love for people to cancel their orders so they don't have to offer gift vouchers or sell the items at a loss.

    I suggest if you can wait then do so till they eventually ship your item(s). Only warning to be aware that PayPal cases can be opened only up to 45 days from the date of the sale otherwise you are the mercy of DX to even do a refund.

    As for Banning DX as some suggested, I think Ozbargaineers are only a fraction of their incoming orders and would definitely not leave a big dent in their profits. Also, wouldn't work because we'll always be suckers for a good cheap deal.

      I agree with your observation, however, there are many other sites that have popped up in the last few years and are cheaper on certain items than DX.
      Back in the days there was only DX and the competition is very healthy now and the sticky on OZB will go along way in reducing their sales and whatever that percentage might be.

          Yea I know how you feel, but the only explanation I can conjure from all of this is that most people ordered a combination of things, thereby not prioritizing your AU Direct order, and/or paying via CC is a BIG no no with these guys(Chinese Warehouses), as not only does verification take time but payments are never instant, so they have to wait till its cleared. Sadly, I think that's where you and many others lost time in the processing of payments and multiple orders…, I can't think of or logically explain/justify anything else… lol

          Normally ERP systems (ie. what drives DX) should take the orders on a FIFO basis (First In, First Out). I am quite interested to learn what actually happened and how their IT architecture works.. Although I dont think we will ever really learn "the truth" of it all outside of random comments and speculations on all our behalf.
          Its only that you have been very lucky not to have been cancelled and that your order is in the mail (whilst poor buggers like me have to spend another 50 bucks more to get the W8). Its just the way the cookie crumbles..

          True, what about their Payment Gateways ?, as many people have stated verification took time and failed even, DX integrates eGate Payment Technologies, which processes the verification and payment confirmations of CC payments. Could that be another issue ?

    My W8 has been shipped, waiting for the tracking number to work. But really at the end of the day no has lost anything here, sure we have had to wait and some of us have had are orders cancelled but at the end of the day if you got lucky and bought a item that gets shipped, well done. For even one else who has been like 'owwww my not deal with them again' please what has it cost you!

        nope. I kept my trap shut so as to not draw unwarranted attention to my order.

        for that, I how have my PD80-HD on its way to me :)

        I contacted them a couple of days ago when a few people on here had their PD80-HD orders changed to 'backorder', and mine was still sitting on "Payment verified. Order is being processed".

        I have no idea why mine wasn't cancelled. I think most of the people that had theirs cancelled contacted them on the first couple of days, and maybe their staff got confused as to what the customer wanted i.e. thought that the customer would rather have it cancelled than wait for new stock, or maybe DX had initially decided to cancel all orders (people that contacted them were first in line), but then changed their mind after they saw the backlash? :shrug:

    Finally I have a new status for my order of PD80-HD. Hope it doesn't flick back or gets cancelled, fingers crossed :)

    Even available actions doesn;t have the Cancel option anymore. So looks like my patience has paid off, but then again fingers crossed.

      Same boat there , I don't think we should contact LiveChat anymore . PPl didn't contact DX , their status change from :" payment confirmed " to " Full shipped " . I will start buying the accessory now ,eg. pen , cover.
