UPDATED (Full 800 SKU Included See Update 2) Deal Extreme - 50% off Hundreds of Items!

38215
AUDirect0515

Deal Extreme offering 50% off a huge selection of items!!

There's Quad Core Tablets (under $100)
http://dx.com/p/freelander-pd30-quad-core-8-ips-capacitive-s…

Exynos 7" tab for $88
http://dx.com/p/freelander-pd10hd-7-ips-exynos4412-quad-core…

THL W8 Quad Core phone ($116)
http://dx.com/p/thl-w8-android-4-1-quad-core-bar-phone-w-5-0…

Update:

http://dx.com/mayhalfprice?utm_source=dx&utm_medium=cdn&utm_…

According to this, they will be rotating the deals throughout the day (800 SKUs with total quantity of 40,000) to cover a bunch of other products too. Check back whenever you can to see if theres anything new!

Update 2:

http://dx.com/mayhalfprice/Default/ShoppingList

They have pushed out another list of more items! It does verify the theory that the initial page was for DX AU deliveries whilst this is the International 50% off section. Please be aware that there will be longer delivery times for this since it needs to be shipped directly from China as opposed to the DX AU (which apparently has warehouse in Perth).

Update 3:
Offer is pretty much officially "Ozbargained" with the only remaining stock to be either very specialist products (Spare battery for product x), Seasonal products (Christmas), or stuff that not many people want. The only thing I am hoping for is that they can fulfill all orders so everyone is happy.

DX has subtly stated however, (Broken English) "If the customers who participate in this activity are more than expected which results in lack of product supply, we have to process refund for the oversold items, please kindly understand." which may account for some people's Paypals reported refunded against.

Update 4:

Have to apologise in advance to anyone who doesnt get the stock for this deal. Despite being the OP and putting the order through before others, I have now received a cancellation against my two orders (W8 and PD10). It is seemingly like a lottery to get stock. Very very disappointed. :(

Update 5:

After a disappointing weekend, DX has now come back to affected customers with a voucher that's worth 15% of the original total order. So, if your order was $200, then they will give you back $30 worth as a rebate in compensation to be used in DX. Apparently the stock is still available - but not it has changed to a different SKU but they are offering 15% off the original price. This is pretty beneficial if your original order was expensive (and hence you can get back a higher rebate value) - but typically most would only have done a $200 order with $30 rebated.

The new link is here: http://dx.com/l/au-direct/2013-02/special-items.aspx

As you can see, the deal is nowhere near as good as before. However, it is up to you as an individual to see if it is still good value enough to continue making the purchases.

    • I'm not sure about Ditter v12
However I own a MK809 (almost same spec) and the WiFi is very very bad

sorry to sound dumb, but what is it used for exactly :S

These are android TV adapters. They turn a normal TV into a "smart" TV so you can surf the web, watch youtube, watch torrents, play android games etc. on the big screen in your lounge room.
We got one at xmas and it gets used regul;arly for playing torrents but not much else (but we have ipads etc. for other functions, you might not).
You can plug a normal keyboard/mouse in, but most people get a wireless one with built in trackpad so you can easily control it from the sofa.

  • freelander pd20d 7" not support in google play http://www.amazon.com/Freelander-PD20-D-Cortex-A5-1-2GHz-Whi…

    • Hmm will none of these Freelander tablets work with Google Play store?

  • so the phone, it says 12MP for the camera, has anyone got any ideas if it's a shoddy camera or if it is actually half decent?

  • So confused!! after reading through this .. i want to get a tablet.. was tossing up between nexus 7 & 10 and then this comes along..

    not fussed about bluetooth

what is the pick of the bunch for the 7" and 10"

  • +1

Currently typing this out on an Hp touch pad, would the 10" HD tablet be a step up from what I'm using?

    • +1

Probably not in terms of quality (although with the cracking around the speakers etc. the Touchpad wasn't exactly that great either), but certainly in terms of processing power, memory and screen resolution.

    • +2

      Long live the Touchpad!!!

  • Can the Ditter v12 really play 1080P videos?

Even my 2 year old netbook cant do that..!

  • Does the THL W8 absolutely, definitively work on WCDMA 850? I am getting conflicting reports on the xda forum.

    • Well, it does say so in the specifications, but since when could we actually trust them. I did order the mobile and certainly will need the 850MHz, so lets hope they got it right. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

    • Ok, I made it to the last page of the xda-developers forum, only to find yet another problem with the phone- gross GPS inaccuracy. Too much uncertainty and friggin' around for me.

      • +2

        this is the life.

  • Any recommendations on a Quad Core 4.1 (or higher) Android 7" or 8" tablet?

  • +8

My goodness, I spent a fortune! Have I saved money? Yes. More toys? Yes. Ozbargain wins. Human fails.

    • +8

You save ONLY when you buy a discounted item which you actually NEED. I am saying this, yet I am buying things here which I don't need!

  • Anyone notice "Au Direct" items are priced higher, same product?

    • +1

Yes, but they include Toll shipping free instead of Hong Kong/China post, so you will get you item faster.

  • Sorry guys, absolute noob question here - if I wanted a tablet simply for reading pdfs and other book formats (epub etc), what should I be looking at in this sale? Basically I'm looking for a kindle-esque replacement… (if it makes any difference, I have enough tech know-how to jailbreak etc when I have instructions laid out for me)

    • +1

If you really want nothing else, you could get the $30 ones…
I would probably get a quad core with IPS though, in case you decide you want to do other things in future (like games, videos, web browsing). These functions will work on the $30 models, but slowly and with interface lag that makes them very frustrating. Fine for an ebook reader though.

      • Thanks for the reply! Yeah I'm pretty much just looking to throw on the eyepatch and get some ebooks, with maybe a bit of web browsing. Would the larger 9.7" be overkill?

        http://dx.com/p/freelander-pd80-hd-9-7-capacitive-screen-and…

        • The 9.7 are the size and approx weight of an ipad. Good for reading PDFs, a bit heavy and bulky for reading novels.

  • +3

Two HD tablets, a drawing tablet and two remote control helicopters later, there goes my budget for the fortnight.

  • Am after 8" tab with bluetooth…any ideas?

  • Nice, got the FREELANDER PD80-HD tablet for $AUD 111.39 with 28 degrees CC.

    • Oh man I paid $116. Paid through Pay Pal. Forgot to change it to credit card payment instead of bank :( Still a good deal :)

      • I did that recently….sucks! We just have to be more vigilant

        • Agreed. I was too excited and rushed the purchase :0

  • Tablet question: From using Asus transformer prime + Nexus 7, bluetooth is not supported using SKYPE or GTALK.
Will this apply to all android tablets?
Such disappointment, any tips to overcome this?

  • PD10HD is this really good? also light as ipad mini?

    • +1

Specs seem pretty good. For $90 can't really got wrong though, it even has Bluetooth.

It certainly beats those crappy Android 4.0, 512 ram, 800x480 res, single core tablets Gerry Harvery is flogging off for $86.

  • +1

Lots of people buying tablets here. is no one worried about software updates? or is there an active dev community behind these tablets? My only concern buying a tablet from DD is software updates. doesnt matter if it comes from the manufacturer or XDA like dev communities

  • Any good chuwi or onda tablets?

  • Any Galaxy S3 accessories on sale? Extended battery bank would be good

So tempting just to get this one to try out! Arghhhh

  • Just bought the FREELANDER PD30 Quad Core 8" for $80.27. cant wait for it to be delivered

    • Me too. Now i am contemplating buying the retina variant of it just to try it out :P

  • I nabbed the FREELANDER PD80-HD as well, does anyone know if an ipad case off the site would fit on one of these, or if there is any generic cases that will fit?

  • Just ordered the freelander pd80 hd. Looking forward to checking this little guy out.

  • Just ordered 2 of the Freelander PD80HD's. My mother-in-law should enjoy this for her web surfing and solitaire.
$111 each is a bargain, plus order now before the AUD$ drops further.

    • Just bought two also. Huzzah.

  • I just bought this and the code didn't work for one of the items, so I am chatting to the DX people (Daisy) and she's telling me to promotion hasn't started yet on the D12 dongle?

    • I just tried and it worked

      • Eventually got my first order cancelled and ordered again, worked fine. Strange thing was that only half my order was discounted the first time (keep an eye out for that one.)

  • Will this deal be running tomorrow?

    • Don't know, but some items are already sold out.

  • Bought the watch repair kit- woohoo- saved $1.97 on the regulat ebay price.

  • I found the code was case sensitive for me. AUDIRECT0515 didn't work but AUDirect0515 did.

Now should I try the live below the line cause (https://www.livebelowtheline.com.au)?

    • I have exactly what you have minus the DITTER V12 and all waiting in my cart for my decision. Not sure if I should pull the trigger ?

Anyone knows when the deal is over ?

      • Pulled the trigger but only on the PD80-HD 9.7". I didn't bother with the phone THL W8 as I am worried the screen would not be as good as it is made in the specs.

        • yeah this is a no brainer

          a retina tab for $110

i'm skeptical about how they're gonna fulfil orders

the exynos hyundai t7 clone is also good

  • They have cheap stuff but in my only experience with DX I ordered 6 torches and only received 1. After promising that the others would be in stock soon every week for 3 months I cancelled.

  • The promotion sales is all BS.

Only 800 sku numbers are available.

    http://i.imgur.com/tbDOwtQ.png

    • yeah, ONLY 800.
This will be a very long thread.

    • 800 SKUs with total quantity of 40,000

    • May be 800 at a time? in batches?

      • haha lol, that'll be 50 days and will make everyone broke

        • I believe batches could be every 15min to 30min. but who knows. everything about this sale is so vague.

        • I think it's 800sku with 40000 stock available.

Nothing has yet changed since this was posted

  • Cheers OP just dropped on a Freelander PD80HD.

    Cheers,
    Jake

  • I am looking to get a GoogleTV player. I think the MK808 is the more popular version but doesn't seem to have the discount even though it is listed as AU Direct. I want to connect it via WiFi. Does the Ditter V12 have WiFi and is it equally fast (or slow)?

    Thanks

    • According to the non-AU Direct sale page (which starts at 2AM UTC), the MK808B is one of the items to be discounted: http://dx.com/mayhalfprice?utm_source=dx&utm_medium=cdn&utm_…

    • The Ditter D12 is listed to have WiFi.

I suspect the MK808 would be faster as it is a dual core 1.6Ghz (D12 has a single core 1.6Ghz).

I'm also not sure which one to buy… I'd mainly be using via windows network file shares over wifi. Any tips?

  • Only the clearing items are 50% off and I doubt those display on the promotion page are on special.

The AUdirect also on sale, great!

  • External 12000mAh Emergency Power Battery Charger for Cellphone - Black

    would'nt this be better?

    item sold out already?

  • That Freelander PD10HD is looking mighty tempting

  • Bought the PD30 tablet purely because it can be charged via USB cable as I need to use it overseas. Arranging for the cheap and nasty Android table from ALDI to be returned at the moment, no way I am accepting a replacement or refurb so bought one of these just in case.

  • So what was the general consensus for the ditter v12?
Also any thoughts on the SADES SA-901 headphones? they seem quite good for 15.60…
And lastly; anyone know if the ipega pg9017 gaming controller would be any good and compatible with a N4?

  • Any tablets with GPS that would be decent enough for in-car navigation?

    • the 7" hd exynos is supposed to be a hyundai y7 clone which does have gps

but since its only $70 or so i took a chance and bought it anyway

      • +1

Just use the 5" W8 Phone

  • Just found out my order is using SuperSaver shipping method. That would take for ever doesn't it

    • Website says 5-15 business days for delivery.

  • Some cheap stuff but can't see anything I would use for more then 5 minutes.

When exactly does the regular store sale start?

  • The Ditter V12 is listed as having only b/g wireless. Would that be enough bandwidth to stream an HD movie for example from a DLNA NAS device?

    • Yes G is enough bandwidth. If the device will do it I'm not sure.

      • +2

The MK808B lists Wireless B/G/N. It is currently full price, but I am hoping that it will go on sale at midday (2am UTC).

        • Same here. Waiting for midday

        • What I meant was, Just because its listed it doesn't mean it can handle G at those speeds or that it will even connect to a WPA2 N network (I've had one that doesn't)
