  • THANKS! I was waiting for this!

I'm a big fan of swiftkey and don't regret buying it last time it was on sale but check out Google Keyboard before buying a keyboard app:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.and…

This was posted as a deal when it came out but a lot of people confused it with the keyboard that came with there device (htc/samsung/etc) or the basic android keyboard. This is totally new as you can see on the installs graphic on the above link and IMO it combines the best of swiftkey and swype.

Great keyboard been using this app since i picked it up during Google's 10 billion app downloads sale for 10c.

  • Is it better than the new Android/Google keyboard?

If the only language you use is english then google keyboard is good enough.
SwiftKey is good when use with multiple language. it can also combine language so you can type 2 languages easily.

  • Can anyone tell me if I really need the tablet version on my note 10.1? I've got the standard SwiftKey on my android phone and have installed it on the tablet - seems to work fine?

    • Same the other way around actually. I'm using the Tablet version on my N4, I'm not sure of the difference, maybe slight size differences, there also maybe slight differences on input fields when the phone or tablet are in landscape mode, but not sure.

  • It comes with my Samsung phone but Google's voice input is much easier. And I don't think it's better than Google's free one.

Pretty sure Samsungs come with Swype, not Swiftkey.

  • Took the plunge to see what all the fuss was about. Prior to buying swiftkey I was using the recently released google keyboard, which is an excellent keyboard on its own.

Swiftkey is a really great keyboard and imo its slightly edges out the google keyboard, however I wouldn't say it's leaps and bounds over it.

If you're looking for new keyboard try the google keyboard first if you find yourself wanting more pick up swiftkey either way you wont be disappointed.

Got this keyboard awhile ago, for general usage I have not used a better keyboard although the stock android keyboard comes pretty close.

However my biggest issue with swiftkey is entering urls, now I usually omit the www. and just enter the web address but swiftkey will add white space at the end of every period, now they do have a literal mode where if you type www. it will work but I think they should implement a key to temporarily suspend the autocomplete.

Other than that, swiftkey is one of the best keyboards around and worth the money.

    • This is the only 'feature' of Swiftkey I truly hate otherwise I use this over Google Keyboard too.

    • I hate that too. Swype does it better by adding the space after the next character is entered, plus it has a temporary override function. Also, the swiftkey keyboard is very sluggish compared to Google keyboard and Swype. Also with Swype you get phone and tablet version for $0.99. What's not to like?

  • Great Keyboard, been using it for a few years now, try it , well worth the 2$,

  • Have tried it but don't like the disclaimer messages when installing it about how it can be used to monitor / record what your typing….so can it be trusted.

    • Well any keyboard app can see everything you type, including passwords & CC details so it really depends on how trustworthy the developer is. Swiftkey is a great keyboard but if your really paranoid about having the app see your passwords you should probably stick to the stock keyboard.

This is written in their privacy policy. So make sure when you lost your phone pray hard it isn't taken by hacker. ;p

      PRIVACY

We take your privacy very seriously. This keyboard does not learn from password fields and all language data learned on your device is stored on your device’s internal memory or SD card.

    I prefer the Google keyboard - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.and…

It's very similar to SwiftKey, and it's FREE

  • This is one of the best apps I have on my phone, but whenever I restart my phone, I need to reset swiftkey back to the swift keyboard.

Can't seem to figure out how to fix that!

  • Can anyone comment on the Swift Key FLOW feature?

Also, If im using a HTC ONE with full HD display, maybe I should get the tablet version? Throught?

    • Tablet version is better for tablets, not phones. It's about screen size, not resolution.

Swiftkey Flow is better than the similar feature in Google Keyboard but Swype is still the king when it comes to that. I bought Swype for $1, not sure if it's still that price.

  • bought it, thanks

  • the word recognition on this keyboard is far beyond any other. If you are in doubt…. BUY IT

  • Perfect timing - my free trial just ran out!

  • I have tried heaps of keyboard, finally like the Touchpal Keyboard the best.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cootek.sma…

  • Only annoying thing is, there's no option to have an additional row of numbers. If you want numbers you have to either hold a button down which is slow, or go to a separate screen for numpad. The Samsung default keyboard has numbers on a separate row.

I want the auto correct and suggestions of Swiftkey but also to keep my Samsung keyboard.

    Sigh.
