Here is the part in T&C about maximum rebate of 10 per person :)

7- Limit of one rebate claim per valid full-version product purchased, up to a maximum of ten (10) rebate claims per person. Claimants must retain their original purchase receipt(s) and product packaging for all claims as proof of purchase. Failure to produce the proof of purchase for all claims when requested may, in the absolute discretion of the Promoter, result in invalidation of all of a claimant's claims and forfeiture of any right to an offer.

    • How long from the point that i make the rebate claim do i get the rebate?

      • +1
        1. Every valid claim will receive a $30 rebate in the form of a cheque. Claimants should allow 6-10 weeks from receipt of their claim by Symantec for delivery of their rebate cheque by post.
    • So if your household has 2 people that means 20 claims ?

  • +1

So can I buy 10 in one transaction? Or I have to buy 10 times?

    • yes. single transaction is fine.

  • +1

    SO how does activation work.

You need to activate them before you can claim the rebate

So do you have to activate them on separate handsets or can you activate them on the same handset?

And Norton being a security company, wont they be able to detect that you are activating them on the same handset?

    • +1

You can refer to the old deal for more details. but I have managed to activate multiple product keys using a single device.

What you need to do is to register the product key one by one from this site (step 1)
      http://www.norton.com/mobilesecurity

install the software on the device. sign in using your registered account.

then check the status for that product key in https://www.mynortonaccount.com/amsweb/default.do

next step would be to clear the cache and data. then go back to step 1.

      • SO every time you uninstalled the app, then re-installed it ?

        • you just need to clear the cache and data. Don't have to uninstall it.

Are Norton able to read the serial number/IMEI of the device that installs the software and record it on their database?

Any Mobile security experts available on Ozbargain to answer this ?

EDIT1: After reading google, apparently with F-secure Mobile Antivirus, the Subscription is linked to the IMEI number of the phone. If Norton uses the same protocol, then they would be able to detect multiple activation's on one phone

EDIT2: In the T&C No. 10 , it says that each claim must be valid. Is registering multiple codes on one handset a valid claim in the eyes of a security company?

10- Every valid claim will receive a $30 rebate in the form of a cheque. Claimants should allow 6-10 weeks from receipt of their claim by Symantec for delivery of their rebate cheque by post.

        • What's the deal with all 10 claims under one name? Your claims went through ok PissLUR?

        • also every activation is probably associated with the unit's MAC address…

I'll stay out of this, but a nice find !

  • +1

    Question asked already

  • Bought… hopefully this will work out : ) thanks OP

    • +3

before you buy, better work out if you can activate them on same device, unless you have 10 phones which are android and apple

  • +3

good luck to all who are going on a mini investment

  • Used up all my limit :( It is $9 cheaper each URGHHHHHHHHHHH

    • have you received the cheques yet?

      • Didn't claim yet.. I was hving trouble to install the app, It's not work probably and no idea how to solve it yet…. It just keep asking me to update newer version when I click it and nothing else show, but I've just downloaded from Play Store few mins before I clicked

I'm last minute person, I bought it at $24 :(

I will probably claim this weekend!

  • Anyone got your rebate cheque when it was $30 delivered? It has been 8 weeks from the date I submitted rebate form.

Interestingly, I submitted 3 rebates and all 3 have the same confirmation number.

    • +1

They are different. Check it again ;).

      • Thanks buddy. It's so tricky that the differentiation is in the middle of the series.

      • May be a stupid question. Do I need to post the receipt/s before Sunday or can do that online?

        • why u need to post receipt before sunday?

        • +1

it is why he asked. he didnt know whether or not he needed.

        • claim online and wait for cheques.

  • +1

Sounds too unclear to jump in this boat doing it 10 times on the one device……… Hmmmm could u say in self defense if they knock back ur claim that I was doing it on the one device because I just bought the company 10 new phones and wanted to test the product codes on the one phone ? Lol. Just sounds v unsafe

    • Simple for me as in my household we have 10 different devices…PURCHASED.

  • How old can the phone be I wonder for it to not be compat

    • Well the latest version is 3.5 at the moment and it says that the phone needs to be v2.1 or up.

      • Min Requirement (on pack): Android 2.2 with Google Play / iOS 4.3

  • Will this actually work :??

  • I dont have a smart phone. Can I activate these on my computer?

  • +1

Really temped to try, got a feeling it's too good to be try

  • Activate all 10 product keys using a single device, im sure it comes with like 1 or 2 years protection so does it stack every time you Activate a product key??

  • Activate all 10 product keys using a single device, im sure it comes with like 1 or 2 years protection so does it stack every time you Activate a product key??

  • +2

buy it from jbhifi through westfield online - use bucksback for 3.5 % cash back

    • Where do you type that in?

  • Is this a one off paid thing? or is it only subscription for 1 year?

  • +1

There is so much potential for fail here. But pretty sweet return of you're willing to take the gamble.

    • Get one for each device you own, that should be safe. Maybe OP should change the title to UPTO.

      • thanks. it would be a better title. didnt think of it yesterday as I assumed everyone would be buying 10 of them. haha

  • I am thinking if the security app slows down the phones? Good deal.

    • Runs ok on my quad core note 2 though ymmv. Has some pretty positive reviews on the net when compared to other products.

Only odd thing I noticed is that it picked up a legit install (many months ago) of fruit ninja as malware all of a sudden. Couldn't find any info about it and don't really play it much so ended up uninstalling it just to be safe.

Would be nice if we were given more info as to why it was flagged as such. Anyone else experienced something similar?

  • OW has a different version 2.0.. Guess there maybe issue with 3.2 rebate.. :-)
    http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Sof…

  • Ordered one each for the three devices at home. I hope the rebate works. Thanks, OP.

    • Same!!

  • grabbed 10

Norton has 60 days money back guarantee. If it is getting close to 60 days and you haven't receive your cashback and dont want to wait longer.

    • I saw that too and its stated in the terms and conditions. If you haven't claimed the full refund or if refund not available just take it back within 60 days for money back.

  • +2

Guys please read the terms and conditions.

3.The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of claims and claimants (including a claimant's identity and place of residence) and to disqualify any claimant who submits a claim that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the process. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

Not sure if its going to work if you use it all on one device.

I am thinking of asking my family members if they need mobile anti-virus just to be safe.

    • +1

I have 10 devices in the household, so I intend to cover my bases

  • All the t&c really say is it must be installed and activated before filling in the claim. Nowhere does it say you cannot buy and install more than one on single device.

I went on live chat and said to the consultant , that I misplaced my key (which i already claimed for) and had uninstalled the app. I told them that I went bought another cd key and installed it on same device because I changed my mind and wanted the protection again. and the person said that's fine just as long as key is activated.

  • +1

Playing it safe and just buying the four I need. Thanks Norton for paying me to do this (hopefully). At least if it's crap I can still be $60 richer!

  • Still have 10 bought at $24 each on 7/6 - unopened.
Wonder if JB would give a credit on those & buy 10 at another store. For $90 extra it's worth a try :-) And a $240 credit buys 16, an extra $180 Cashback!!

Notice its 10 per person, so now buying 20 for 2 people.
ING 5% is now 2% rebate for most.

    • Rang store & told I can get store credit as have old phone with Android 2.1 when they say 2.2 is minimum requirement. (Only of much use as credit against purchase of more of these at $15.)

  • i was adding it into cart suddenly it didn't let me checkout….
refreshed and it shows its expired…how unlucky….lol

  • GONESKIES

  • seems expired .

    • May still be available in store… Post link shows stock available in my local JB so just depends on what price it is in store. Update post to reflect new info but potentially not expired… Yet.

Yea, this is the last chance for online —-
        http://www.westfield.com.au/au/retailers/jb-hi-fi/products/n…

        • Good one, got 30 velocity points for each purchase too!

edit: just saw that orders through Westfield is an order only and payment is not taken until JB process it. Possibility that JB will refuse to honor the order though… wait and see !

        • Got 2 for myself, hopefully JB will honor the order.

        • Order went through. Now we'll see if they deliver.
And it may also get me 3.25% cashback through Cash Rewards, and 300 Velocity Rewards miles.

        • Order went through and credit card has been debited just a few minutes ago. Holding some hope its honoured.

  • all finished before i could grab any :(

  • Expired

  • online price went to 30$ again….not sure if they sell instore for 15$…

  • Apart from the cashback, how does norton compare with avast?

  • EXPIRED ONLINE & INSTORE
Rang MacGregor (Brissie) store price is $30!
Explained $15 deal, but as online only & expired - no deal.

Was able to negotiate down to $24 for large purchase (19). Should be able to get 10 for $240, with $300 Cashback.

    • +2

How can they refuse the discounts? The promotion clearly says 50% off ALL NORTON products till this Sunday. I called one of the Vic Store and reserved 3 - had no problems getting them for $15 each.

      • Rang store again - told only Norton360 is 50% off. Refused discount as price is $30 on their store & online systems, & deal expired online.
Placed order for 10 through Westfield. Maybe that will work.

Please post a link to the Norton 50% promo so we can show to stores. I can't find it.

  • Marked as expired as web price is now $30 and likely will be the same in all stores.
Now the waiting game to see if those that got orders in @ $15 will get them for that price…

  • Even if you do stack 10 of them t get a 10 yr subscription, doesn't that mean you'll be stuck with the same phone for 10yrs, since the subscription is tied to the device and not google/Norton account?

    • you can add devices through the norton site

    • you can easily add/remove device(s) from your associated norton account.

  • +2

Just bought some from Bourke St, Melb CBD - they are still honouring them. 100+ left

    • +1

Can you please post the receipt ?

    • Was there this arvo, wouldn't sell for 15. Back to 30

  • They are having 50% off for all norton products til sunday.

Can someone post a link to this promo as Brisbane stores I have rung say this does not apply to this product. Plenty of stock. (Vic stores seem to be honouring, but may not be national deal.) Thanks :-)

    • Apologies you are right it seems that the promo says Norton 360. http://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers/software/norton/

However on the list the Norton Mobile Security doesn't appear to be 360 and it is still listed on the list of promo products. Might depends on stores unfortunately! Try speaking to them quoting Vic Stores are honouring it and see if it works.

      • No need for apology. Would have been happier if I was wrong :-)

Is there a promo just stating the overall 50% off deal? I assume that is what some stores are honouring.

  • It is still available through Westfield

    http://www.westfield.com.au/au/retailers/jb-hi-fi/products/n…

    • Thanks ….just completed my order thru Westfields website….$15 each with free delivery….

    • it is now pulled out of Westfiled website too.

      • Check again. It is still available at Westfield for $15 here

  • still available online. just completed my order at $15 with free delivery. see if jb honour it.

    • Hope it works - I ordered 10.

  • +4

I just put through an order for 10 via this link with Westfield. I hope it's honoured.

    • Was told by JB in Brissie the $15 online price was an error.
So this deal may not be honoured, as it is an order not a purchase.

  • Confirmed still works thru westfield's website, just bought 2.

    • Its an order, not a purchase. You are only billed if order is successful.

  • Bought 3 via westfield link.

    • same here
      that sites a steal
      cash back + velocity points
      thumbs up

  • Great. Got 2 from the westfield's website as well.

  • Lol, now the agonising suspense to see whether we'll get refunded or not.

    Take my money dammit! XD

    • hopefully not refunded :)
nice profit from cashback + starthere + velocity points and tax deduction
