      • I've opened another with a new client ID, and $101 has been sitting there for a while…no bonus yet.

Has anyone passed the two week mark yet?

        • when did you open your account?

        • 19/7

        • Ok, wait until this Friday.

        • Thanks, sure will. Suspense is killing me ;)

        • I'm also waiting impatiently.

        • Try CBA promotion - you will need to act faster and be more patient:

look up the pass performance on these three on Ozbargain:
          MyWealth
          GoalSaver
          Facebook

        • I did the My Wealth and GoalSaver. I rang them asking where my money is for both this morning, actually. They say My Wealth $50 will be paid to me within a fortnight, still waiting to hear back from them on GoalSaver…

        • Can you give ozbargainers an update on the two relevant threads, please?

        • Sure, I'll update when they call me back.

        • Please read the end of http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/107429?page=2
          regarding "written communication".

  • I opened an ING Maximiser account last night and transferred $100 from my CBA account. It might take a few days for the funds to be cleared into the Maximiser account. I was wondering if I should now go ahead and open an ING Orange Everyday account now in order to get the 5% Paypass promo. Should I do this before or after the $100 is transferred into the Maximiser (i.e. will ING believe I'm not a new customer by having an Orange Everyday account activated before my Maximiser account? I'm led to believe the Maximiser account is only activated once there are funds in the account [which there aren't… yet]).

    • I would wait until I collected my $50.

  • Once you enter the promo code, does it have any message saying that you entered the code successfully?

I have no indication of whether I entered the code correctly and can't remember if I did it properly

    • +1

      Nope…no indication whatsoever unfortunately.

You will find out soon enough ;)

      • Cheers :)

      • Hi ginmi have you really applied 10+ new accounts and going to receive $500?

        • "10+ accounts" what gave you that idea? ;-)

  • How long does it usually take to transfer money from a CBA account to an ING Maximiser account? It's been 3 days :(

    • overnight… you will see your transfer dated today…

      • I hope so.

I've postponed signing up to an ING Orange Everyday account until my Maximiser account is activated (when the transfer is finally made).

  • +1

when signing up do I have to link (allow ing to withdraw and deposit in my linked account or can I just choose only allow the savings to deposit to my linked account. Don't really want them to be able to pull funds with out going threw my other bank.

oh ok Chat support came through if you choose only allow ING to deposit you'll just need to go to the other banks website to send funds over.

Downloaded and printed off the ING Direct 'Identity Verification Form' as the online verifying didn't work for me (despite the details being correct). I filled in all the relevant information on the form and went to my local Aust Post, only for the lady serving me telling me that I needed to TYPE the information on the form, not write (with a pen) on the form. I think she got confused with 'PRINT' (i.e. with a pen), instead thinking typing the information in. When I asked "What about the signature part? Do I have to type that in too?", she said "No. Of course not. That you sign for in pen". Ugh. Can anyone confirm if what she said is true?

    • +2

sounds crazy to me "Print" just means not using Cursive besides what normal person has PDF editing software on their computer, most just have PDF viewers. She's either having a bad day and passing it off or is just trying to be difficult. Even more than that having it hand written is significantly more useful as it can be proved to be your handwriting if they need to.

I'm more suprised the form doesn't state what color ink to use like ATO forms do.

    • +1

      Rubbish! She is 100% wrong.

As someone who has been 'hacking' ING for almost 6 years now and banks overall for almost 15 years, I can tell you with 100% certainty that she is wrong.

"PRINT" simply means you need to write your name in CAPITAL letters. That's all.

Must be a new employee or something. Go to someone else or another AusPost branch

    • +1

Better take a Polaroid of it too, just in case. :-P

  • hey guys i think theres a way to confirm if we're gunna receive that $50 or not.

Its under interest details and you should see "current promotional variable interest rate for balance up to $250000…………..4.75%", coz the BONUS code not only includes the $50 bonus but also the premium interest rate offered. This is what the pic looks like http://i.imgur.com/DbvYgsh.png

My gf also applied for a new account, however her newly created account does not have that premium interest rate of 4.75% which leads me to believe she most likely will not receive the $50 at september. She did type in the BONUS code when registering so that's definitely not the reason. Has anyone being hit up with his problem?

    • I have the 4.75% but not the $50.

      Interest accrued this month $0.10

      @ING: SHOW ME THE MONEY!

      • -1

        yea

hope they're not gonna be shitting with us

    • Interesting…. I've a look into my account, and it shows the same as your gf's.
Current standard variable interest rate 3.00% pa

      Account opened on 29/07/2013.

I'm sure I did type the BONUS code in and ticked NO to "Are you already an ING DIRECT customer?"

      • yea was thinking if theres a cut off date to this introductory rate or something… she opened last saturday which was on the 27th…

        • @bigblackbenny, ask you gf to check her account again. Mine was updated to the bonus interest now.

  • +1

4.75% is the welcome rate offered to anyone who opens one.

    http://www.ingdirect.com.au/savings/savings_products/savings…

    • So the BONUS code has nothing to do with premium interest rate?

thats wierd then, how come shes only receiving 3.00% interest rate when im receiving 4.75%…..

      • Only NEW Savings Maximiser customers will receive a variable welcome rate of 4.75% p.a. for 4 months from account opening.

When your girlfriend applied online, did she tick yes to "Are you already an ING DIRECT customer?"? If she did, then she won't be able to get the bonus interest.

        • And will not get paid the $50 either.

        • She's new alright, basically her first time opening up an account with ING. Ticked NO to "are you already an ING direct customer" and entered in the BONUS code at the end of the application. So im confused as to why shes only receiving 3.00% int rate, when im getting the introductory 4.75%… not to mention if shes able to get the 50 bux or not in 2 months time. Was there a cutoff date for this introductory rate… coz she actually signed up last Saturday and I signed up last monday.

        • Until 15/09/2013

        • +2

relax people.. for the first 3-5 days after the activation the interest rate will be 3.00%, however after that it will automatically change to the introductory rate 4.75%. I think their system need some time to update customer's details. cheers

        • Hope it's true as you say as it shows 3% in my aaccount atm.

        • +1

I can confirm what phaol7ta said.

        • Thanks~~~ Give me extra hope…. :)

        • It does change to the introductory rate 4.75% now.
Thanks phaol7ta and SummerMan for clarification :)

        • +1

Also, if I recall correctly, you need to have >= $1 to get the bonus interest rate displayed in the system.

Anyway, the interest rate is irrelevant to $50 dollar bonus. 4.75% only indicates that it is a new account only… There are other steps to be taken to be eligible…

        • I transferred 101 into the account on Monday :)

        • +1

no worries eleana, I just got my first 50 dollar today. I am sure u will get yours next friday.. =)

  • -2

close my orange everyday few day ago, sign up with maximizer with new client ID enter promotion code, few days later, got a call and told that I was not entitle to the promo and $50, anyone receive called from these bitchees? or are they just picking on me?

    • What is the reason? You have CLOSED you account and were NO LONGER a customer at the time of application…

      • well, they check my name and address and found out that I had orange every a/c with them, but seriously I close that a/c already and it's not even saving maximizer, I argue with the lady and she then apologise and now say that I am eligible, but as it's not in writing so I am not going to give them the benefit of the doubt and going to email for confirmation.

  • anyone got the $50 yet?

    • My mother got hers last week, I am still waiting on mine.

      • +1

Now I got mine, it does seem ING pay out on Fridays.

        • Agree… and never pay late. Worse case, they paid on the two-week deadline!

    • I've checked last night and my 50bucks was there together with my 100 initial deposit=)

      • +2

Could you please tell us the exact date where…?

        • you applied for account
        • you went to AusPost for identity verification (if applicable)
        • you get account number from ING
        • you made first transfer (activation)
        • your balance reached $100 (fulfilling the criteria for $50)
          and
        • $50 was credited

These information will be helpful for everyone waiting for $50.

        • -4

not even september 15th this guys shitting with u

        • +3

To be eligible for the $50 cash bonus you must be a new ING DIRECT customer, apply online using the promo code “BONUS” and deposit at least $100 by 15 September 2013 (“Eligible Account”). The cash bonus will be paid as bonus interest and be credited to your first Eligible Account within two weeks following your balance reaching $100 or more. A tax liability may exist with the payment of the cash bonus. One $50 cash bonus payment per Eligible Account (including joint accounts). Cash bonus offer is available for a limited time only and ING DIRECT reserves the right to withdraw the offer at any time at its sole discretion. If withdrawn, ING DIRECT will honour all promo codes entered before the offer is withdrawn, provided that you make your first deposit by 15 September 2013.

Read the "TWO WEEKS" bit. There is no point to wait until 15 September…

        • So in two weeks if you haven't got your $50 bonus, might as well cash out, close your account, then GOTO 10

        • Im not shitting with anyone! you should read the T&C before you sign up with anything! Maybe you are just after the $50 not knowing what consequence comes after that =P lol

        • Just wondering,, How many times can you this over and over again?

  • +1

Does joint account count as new customer?

    • I would think so.

  • Deposited $100 on 25 /7 and got my $50 today.

  • Deposited $100 on 18/7 and got my $50 bonus today. Cashed out :-)

Deposited $100 on 18/7 and got my $50 bonus today. Cashed out :-)

    GOTO 50

    • strange…

two weeks from 18/07 is 01/08

      but today is 02/08

      ING is never late…

      Can u double check?

      • +1

        Anything for you SummerMan…

Although I created my accounts and transferred $100's on Thu 18/7, the funds weren't received by ING until Mon 22/7. Blame it on the weekend.

        See here

        • Also strange…

If you made a transfer on Thu 18/07 before cutoff time, it would be credited (I mean "record") on payee account on the same day. After cutoff time, it would be Fri 19/07.

If you want to blame weekend, you have to transfer after cutoff time on Friday…

or you are using RAMS… This is the only ADI (I mean "Authorised Deposit-taking Institution") I know of to have such an issue…

The record date or statement date should not be confused with the date money becomes available.

  • +1

I was waiting to receive the $50 to be sure.

I didn't close my current account (everyday opened back in June), so I opened a savings account with a new customer ID, ING created the new saving account but on my old ID and they closed the new customer ID. I thought I would have missed the $50 but got it today.

  • Got the fifty today and put a request in to close my account via direct message.

  • +1

okay here is my situation, I closed my orange everyday, open saving maximiser with brand new client ID, deposit few grands into it, few days later, notice my saving account still not activate, log into my old orange everyday, money shows up in my old orange everyday account…, mind you I close this a/c already, very dodgy practice, for those who have succeed, could you confirm if you getting 4.75% or 3% when login online (if you click % button next to saving maximizer account)? I login and mines say 3% percent which is a joke,

    • Read my post above.

You need to have >$1 for a few business days to see 4.75%

There is no way the account number will be wrong.

However, the letter could be misleading. The table in the letter you receive in the mail shows YOUR LINKED ACCOUNT NUMBER not your saving maximizer account. I stuffed it up once and learned the lesson the very hard way.

I hope these explain you situation.

    • "My Interest Rate Details
Current standard variable interest rate 3.00% pa
Current promotional variable interest rate for
balance up to $250,000.00 4.75% pa"

      and I got the $50

    • +1

This is impossible. If you entered the BSB/AC number correctly there is nowhere else the money can go. Furthermore if you have closed the everyday account it's simply gone, you will not see money there.

  • the a/c number is new, however they did not activate my application with new "client ID", what that mean is that when I login to my online banking, I can see that I have two a/c's, orange every and saving maximizer, my question is that my saving maximizer show interest rate of 3%.

    http://postimg.org/image/i3bn8bjvr/

    • +1

Contact them. They are there 24/7.

Or wait a few business days. Read the threads. Everyone sees 3% at first and then it later changes to 4.75%.

      • okay, I'll wait few more days and see what happen, hopefully bring to 4.75%.

    • If you didnt activate with a new client, you didn't got the option to type BONUS. My savings account showed 4.75% from day one.

      • okay, receive bonus $ and interest rate adjusted -) phew

  • +1

    23/07/2013 - Deposit
    02/08/2013 - Paid $50

    • Thanks! I think we can now conclude that ING pays on the second Friday after $100 deposit. If you disagree, tell us when you deposit/get bonus…

    • +1

By the way, this was my third active client number with them.

I started with the first getting 5% cashback on OE (and I already had an SM from before). I opened a super account too and got $50 for it.

I closed the OE and signed up again to get 5% again on a second client number.

Then I closed my original SM and signed up again using this thread for a third client number.

      • +1

and you haven't plus the deal ;)

        • Whoops, sorry OP

      • Professional ;-)

      • edited

  • anyone close the account after receiving $50 and open a new one to receive another $50?

    • You'd be crazy not to.
It looks like we'll be cashing out on Fridays & cashing in on Mondays.

  • +3

To answer my earlier question how many times can this can be executed by 15 September 2013?

The answer is 5, with your bonus days occurring on either:

    • 2/8/13, 16/8/13, 30/8/13, 13/9/13, 27/9/13, or

    • 26/7/13, 9/8/13, 23/8/13, 6/9/13, 20/9/13

*going by SummerMan's Theorem of Bonus Distribution

    • It's an honour to have a theorem name after me T_T.

  • w00t, got my $50.

    signed up 26/07/2013

    • Was your bonus paid on 2/8/13?

      • yep, 02/08/2013

  • ok. lets apply for another $50 bonus.. feeling a little reluctant.. but hell yeah..

and I find that if you link the account to other bank account, there is no online verification required to open this maximiser account cmiiw.

    • +1

haha so your applying for the second time during the current promo?

i already got my bonus last friday and now thinking whether i should apply again or not…

      • +1

Are you crazy? Crazy like a fox?
They're litterly handing out $50's to anybody who lines up for it.
When you've got your $50, of course you get back in the line!

        • Well I closed the old one and opened another with a different client number, however after a couple of days I am not even getting the 4.75% welcome rate, so I doubt we are going to be able to double dip here. ING must be keeping records.

        • It takes time to see 4.75%. See my earlier comments.

    • Good on ya PissLUR.

Can you please give it a go and confirm whether you were able to get a second payout or not?

I'm sure the community would appreciate your insights.

I am thinking of doing the same but am having a serious case of 'morality attack'. Trying to overcome it now.
      ;)

        $50 or $250?
